Whenever you die you resurrect on the last day on which you could possibly have prevented your death with all your memories. Usually it only takes you back a few days, a couple of weeks in extreme cases. Today you died and awoke decades in the past.
There's a forest that people say resembles the ocean. A forest where the land slopes endlessly deeper but the tops of the trees do not. Animals, plantlife… they're said to get stranger the further in one goes.
You run a Bakery, just a normal bakery, the only problem is that your customers at midnight to 6AM are mythical creatures who pay with gemstones and ancient gold and silver coins
The first moment you laid eyes on him, you knew that something was terribly wrong with your son. It might’ve been the fact that his eyes were all-black when he was born or that his first words were, “This human form is limiting”. You’re not entirely sure.
You teach at a magic school, but you do not teach any magic. In fact, you are not even a mage. Yet your classes are among the few that every student has to take, no matter what kind of magic they are studying.
Soultember Prompt 1: Red String of Fate
Fandom : The Dragon Prince
Waring: Canon Character Death
Summary: Harrow didn't need Viren to tell him his wife had been killed by Thunder, he already knew she was gone.
Queen Sairi was the love of King Harrow's life. They were bound together by fate. When they walked, hand in hand, a red string hung down slightly from their pinky fingers. No matter how difficult life was they knew they had each other.
When Viren told Harrow that there was a way to save the people of Duren and Katolis from the death that would come with the horrible winter, he felt it was the only solution. Maybe it was.
Despite Sarai's protest, a few soldiers and the leaders of the two kingdoms left to retrieve the heart of the titan.
Harrow was unsure when the fight began if they would emerge victorious. When the titan fell everything was worth it. The uninjured assessed the injured and they were ready to go.
It was a selfless mission. But sacrifices must be made to save a kingdom. A few people for tens of thousands seemed only far.
Then he appeared. The king of the dragons was angry. Why were humans on his side of the border? What did they need and what did they destroy?
When the queens of Duren fell, it felt like the whole world shook for just a moment. Then Viren tried to by them time. The head mage was a strong man but without him the sacrifice of the queens was for nothing.
Sarai was a strong women. There was no doubt in Harrow's mind that she would return to him. The string that held them together would shorten as they took hands once more. They would return home and would dance in their room, watching the string as they tried to tangle it around themselves, just to see if they could.
Harrow wanted her ride away. He looked at the tine red line that never let them play a fair game or hide and seek and smiled.
As the soldiers approached their side of the border the king felt his finger start to burn.
Snap.
Harrow felt a sharp pain in his pinky finger. The long red string that once connected him to his Queen had broken.
This couldn't be right. Any moment now Sarai would come back up the hill, back to him. She had to. Harrow wasn't sure he could do this without her. He wasn't sure how he'd live on or how he'd explain to his sons what happened to their mother.
The string tied itself into a neat bow, the excess hanging maybe an inch off of his finger. Harrow's heart felt like it stopped beating. Sarai was gone, his love was gone.
Viren walked up the hill, confirming the news. Three mothers had died that day. The mage looked at Harrow's hand, a red string now visible, "I'm so sorry."
Harrow said nothing. Tears fell silently down his face. They fell to the ground as others went to retrieve the three bodies from the field.
He fidgeted with the short tail of the string unconsciously as the three women were brought up the hill. The walk home felt shorter and longer than it had felt before. Harrow wouldn't remember most of it.
It was fate for the two to fall in love. Who knew fate could be so cruel.

You, a supervillain, answer a knock at your door, only to find your superhero nemesis shivering, bleeding, scared, and slightly dazed (as if drugged). They appear to have been assaulted. The hero mumbles “…didn’t know where else to go…” before collapsing into your arms.
You’re somewhat embarrassed. You’d promised everyone a night to remember for the rest of their lives. The bag had been so heavy. You’d just put it down for a moment. Okay, five minutes. Well you got a donut. How were you supposed to know that the guy next to you on the park bench picked up the wrong bloody bag? They’d weighed the same, were equally awkward, and both were pretty unassuming black duffel bags. Of course, your’s was full of careful planned and selected party supplies. His was full of masks, dynamite, rope, smoke grenades, and yet more empty black duffles. You’re friends were never going to trust you to plan party night again.
Although...
No, that was a dumb idea. Utterly absurd. Only a fool would think it. You’re hands pulled out the pouches in the bags, digging eagerly. Whoever carried all their supplies in the same bag probably wouldn’t leave the plans somewhere else, right? Right. You starred at the pouch of papers. That looks like a map. And blueprints for a building. Schedules for the guard rotation. Calculations for explosives, maybe? Math wasn’t your strong suit. None of this was your strong suit.
But Joel worked with building things out of concrete as a quality tester. You’d seen something not too dissimilar to the explosive calculations on Chelsey’s desk when she’s been planning to a massive landscaping overhaul. Alicia taught children, that couldn’t be much harder to keep track of security. Tiana and Jos worked as administrators for the local technical school and you very distinctly recall them bemoaning having to break into their own work computers. You had briefly worked as oilfield safety and had some (outdated) training on fall arrest. This wasn’t a team you’d pick for breaking in anywhere but you had beat the quickest scores on the local breakout rooms a number of times.
Sighing, you shook you head at yourself. It was a nice fantasy. You were too practical (and not stupid enough) to seriously do this. Slowly, playing curiously with each thing, you packed the duffle bag full again. Dreams such as these were best left for curious children. Heart heavy you left the duffle in the corner, turning your mind to how to convince your friends that the night wouldn’t be completely wasted and they could trust you to plan party night again. Unnoticed the pouch of papers rested on your kitchen table, half spilling it’s shameful contents for all to see.
Only a fool would think to actually go through with the plans of some random thieves you accidentally stole a duffle bag from. You were friends with a lot of fools.
You open your delivery of party supplies to find masks, dynamite, duffel bags, rope, and smoke grenades. Meanwhile, across town, some bank robbers are about to have a very creative night.

You peeped into Jimin's office through the crack in the half-open door. You were unsure of whether to walk away or go in.
Your boyfriend hadn't been in a good mood for the past couple of days, and you were afraid you were going to make it worse. He did chase you out when you tried to talk to him yesterday...
But, you really wanted to see him. In fact, you hadn't seen him outside of his office ever since that day. You remember how shocked you were to see an angry Jimin stomping out of his office and screaming on the phone.
You weren't entirely sure what went wrong, but from what you could make out, something went horribly wrong with Jimin's business, and he's been trying to fix it.
Letting out a sigh, you decided to try your luck and go in.
"Jimin..." you softly said as you closed the door behind you. A frown formed on your face when you received no response. Your boyfriend was too busy typing away on his computer.
Did he even notice you came in?
"Jimin?" You said a bit louder as you made your way to his table. "Jimin-"
"What is it?!" He suddenly said, causing you to flinch in surprise. "I'm busy, y/n, what do you want?"
"I... I just wanted to see how you were doing. I haven't seen you step out of your office, and I miss you... It's been days, Jimin." You slowly stepped closer to his table. "Don't you want to take a break? How about we get some food or-"
"No, y/n! I told you I'm busy. I don't have time for that. I've got important things to focus on," he said, not bothering to look up from his computer, and you let out a sigh.
"Oh... okay. I'll just bring you something to eat, then." You didn't want to make it any worse. So after giving a little bow of apology, you disappeared to your shared bedroom.
For the fifth night, the bed was cold, and you went to sleep without him by your side.
The following morning you tried again, hoping work would've eased and Jimin would finally have time to step out of his office and spend time with you.
It had almost been a week. Surely whatever was going on would've died down a bit, right?
Wrong.
When you walked into his office, Jimin didn't spare you a glance and kept his eyes glued to his computer. But at least he somewhat acknowledged your presence this time.
"What is it this time?" Jimin grumbled.
"I just want to talk..." you told him. Your boyfriend closed his eyes and let out a sigh. "How many times do I have to tell, y/n... I'm busy. I've got important things to focus on!"
Your eyes cast to the floor. "I know... but am I not important too?"
And that's when Jimin finally decided to look at you. "What?" He whispered. You let out a soft sigh and gulped as you tried to prevent your tears from falling.
"Am I not important too? Jimin... it's been almost a week since I've seen you step out of here. It's almost been a week since we've hugged, kissed or done anything together."
"I don't know much about what's going on in your mafia world, and I tried to give you space so you can work, but I miss you... Every time I tried to talk to you, just to check in on you, you'd chase me out and tell me that you had important things to focus on."
And then you asked him once again. "But am I not important to you too, Park Jimin?"
Jimin hadn't realised how much he had been neglecting you for the past six days. "Oh my Gosh, I'm so sorry, baby."
There he was.
"I'm so so sorry," he immediately got up before making his way towards you and pulling you into his embrace. "I'm so fucking sorry for how I've been acting. Of course, you're important to me."
"It's okay, Jimin... I-I don't mind you wanting to focus on your work but please-" Jimin hate to see you cry. And he hated it, even more, knowing it was because of him you were crying. "Shhh, don't worry. I won't do it again. Ever."
"Promise?" You asked, lifting your head off his shoulder. Jimin placed his hands on your cheeks and nodded as he whipped your tears. He gave you a quick peck on your lips and smiled.
"How about we do whatever you wanted to do, hm?"

ok so in most of the dcxdp stories I've seen, Duke finds Danny super bright(which I love because it makes me think of a star) but what if he just can't see Danny at all. And when he tell the rest of the batfam they think he's just talking about like Danny not having an aura but he is just completely invisible to Duke even when the rest can see him.
Idk why 🤷♀️ maybe his 'true form' is incomprehensible so he just doesn't appear like Lucy (Scarlett Johanson)
Idk I just think it would be cool but that's all I got for it so pls feel free to build off it🙏
What was considered peak masculinity back in the 2000s is now considered as little meow meow energy in 2024

This clearly shows how far we've progressed and become even more improved versions of ourselves.

As for this godly man, he's still as fiery and yet so sweet even two decades later, if not more, as he was all those years ago.
