I think reading the Witcher books ruined the Netflix Witcher for me cause I cannot truly enjoy shipping Yennefer with Jaskier when all I can think of is how in the books he enjoyed watching her getting sexually assaulted and refused to look away when her clothes were forcibly removed off of her (even though she begged him to) in the story the dragon hunt episode is based on (there is A LOT of sexual assault in the books)

i don't want to study for my exam. i want to experience a slow burn friends to lovers au over the span of some 20-30 years with my self proclaimed best friend who doesn't want to admit he's my best friend and i follow him around everywhere he goes and write songs about him and fix his tarnished name with the people until they start to like him and bathe him when he saves my dumb ass multiple times and rub chamomile oil on his butt, only to be left betrayed and insulted on a mountaintop after following his long term situationship to save some dragons when she dumped him and i just wanted to go to the sea with him only to go around the next few months/years throwing the biggest sulk party writing breakup songs until he finally comes to his sense and finds me to grovel at my feet and introduce me to his daughter and we all live happily ever after as a found family with him me and his ex co-parenting his daughter.

the witcher fandom collectively agrees that twn killing off eskel is unforgivable and just awful in general, but I don't think we complain enough about the fact that geralt, who doesn't have many people who he loves and trusts, who has to live a long life killing monsters and getting insults and garbage and stones thrown at him, who's miserable and emotionally closed off 98% of the time, had to kill one of his brothers, one of his closest friends who understood him since they're both witchers, who he very clearly loved very much, especially visible in the show, the way he REACTED when eskel came through the door. they were so sick for that. so sick.
The Witcher fandom is upset with Netflix's adaptation.
Meanwhile, the How to Train Your Dragon fandom laughs mirthlessly in the background.
Great to know that at least one witcher had some sense of style when forging their medallion
