Someone is whispering your name. Over and over and over again. Louder and louder. You open your eyes. No. You are back in that corridor. That hallway you find yourself in each time you fall asleep. Dark walls, dark floors, sparse lighting and so much blood. Blood on the walls, the ceilings, all over the floor. Barely any air as panic controls you. There are figures in the shadows. Right at the end of the endless corridor. You can’t see their face, but you know that they are human. Or at least it pretends to be. Your name again and again and again. You try to shield it by covering your ears. The figure moves. Closer. You stumble back. Closer. Why is it moving? It never moved before. Why is it moving? Closer. It isn’t supposed to move! Closer. No! Wake up! Closer. Wake the fuck up!

You open your eyes. Your body is unmoving, looking unaffected while your heart is racing unbearably. You are awake again. You must have fallen asleep whilst reading. The book has slipped off your chest. Did this really just happen? The figure moved. It came closer to you. It shouldn’t have moved. It never did so before. You look around your room. Shadows hide most of it from you. You turn on the lights. The darkness disappears but the fear remains. The figure moved. It actually moved.

“I can’t stay here”, you get out as you flee from the scary loneliness. You want to find the others. Doesn’t really matter who, as long as they make reality feel real again. No more shadows and panic. Just real people being with you.

You find Yoongi and Jungkook first. Yoongi is showing Jungkook something on the guitar. He softens his play when he can hear you come inside the sitting room. Jungkook turns, sniffling vigorously.

“What’s wrong?” he asks. 

Yoongi shifts his eyes to him and then begins sniffling. Just a second later he furrows his brows.

So they can smell that you are upset. Amazing. 

“Can I be here with you?” you ask them. 

“Of course you can”, they say at the same time.

And while Jungkook adds a “what happened?” at the end. Yoongi chooses to go with “come here, love.”

You appreciate both options dearly.

“I just don’t wanna be alone”, you say.

a/n: i cried ugly tears throughout the entire writing process. No but on a longer note, there is pain and then there is having to watch Sanguis Alpha come to an end. I feel honest sadness right now and I will probably go into a complete state of grief for the next three months. Sanguis Alpha is my baby, it’s the longest story I have written so far and the world I created is so fucking dear to my heart. I am serious, Sanguis Alpha was my peak and maybe knowing that I will never again be able to feel the immense joy I felt during its creation process makes me feel as broken as I do right now and also maybe gives me such immense writer’s block. I don’t want this story to end and to be honest with you, I may be crying right now as I’m writing those notes. And maybe because I don’t want this story to end, I refuse to write anything new. I just want to stay in this world, oh my fucking god I don’t want to leave. Either way, thank you so much to everyone who stayed with me on this journey and who talked to me about it. I love you so much 💗

“No!” you fall to your knees, “no, nonono. No. Please no." 

"Darling”, Taehyung has his arms wrapped around you instantly, “don’t cry. It will be alright. Don’t cry." 

"No, please no. Please no”, you wail, clutching the letter to your chest with trembling hands.

Yoongi left. He left. Your safe haven left. Your comfort after a long day. Your arms to fall into when a nightmare plagues your mind. Your never faltering support. Your strong shoulder to lean on. Your sweet Yoongi Boongie.

He left. 

Yoongi left.

“Please no”, you cry out, voice breaking in pure agony. 

“Darling”, Taehyung presses you closer before you can hurt yourself. He tries to comfort you. He tries by kissing your hair. He tries by kissing your temple. He tries by holding you close. He tries and fails. He can smell it, hear it, feel it too.

Your heart is broken and there is nothing that can fix it. No hugs, no kisses, no embraces. And the only thing which would be able to fix it left. 

“I’m so sorry my darling. I’m so sorry”, Taehyung cries with you for he truly understood your grief. After all, he also lost a part of himself not that long ago. And because he understood just how much it hurts right now, it breaks him even more.

You try to breathe but sob. You try to sob but choke on your tears. And as you choke and cough and wheeze for air, you cry more and more. 

This can’t be happening. You have just realised what you feel for him. You have just come to terms with the intensity of your feelings. You have just started to explore the love you and him share. This can’t end now. Not now. Please, not now. 

“It’s okay”, Taehyung chokes out, pulling you into his chest as you begin crying even harder, “I’m here. I’m here, it’s okay, I’m here.”

You have just gotten Taehyung back. You have just begun your life again. And Yoongi was supposed to be in this life. He was supposed to grumble about Taehyung’s cooking skills and steal kisses from you when everybody is looking. He was supposed to train you to get better at fighting and kiss you as a reward. He was supposed to force Jungkook and Taehyung to make up in his typical way and later when Seokjin returned with Hoseok by his side he was supposed to tell them about his newfound humanity and then kiss you again just for good measure. And then life would have finally been great. 

But now he is gone. He won’t do any of those things and you will never feel his kiss again.

“I wasn’t done”, you wail, “I wasn’t done." 

You just began kissing him. You weren’t finished with it. Oh, you wanted to do it until your lips would grow tired of each other. And even then you would have continued as, in truth, you could never grow tired of his kiss. 

"I’m sorry darling, truly it hurts me as well." 

"He wasn’t supposed to leave. I wasn’t done. I wasn’t done.”

“I know, I know darling, I know.”

“I can’t anymore. I can’t lose any more people. I can’t." 

"You won’t lose me. I’m going to stay." 

"Why am I so cursed? I just want to be happy, but it is always soiled by one piece of me missing or getting ripped away or leaving. Why? Please make it stop, I can’t take any more. Please make it stop." 

Taehyung struggles with keeping you upright, fearing that if he had to hug you any tighter, he would break you. And perhaps that is what you wanted to do. Break. Finally break so the world couldn’t shatter you anymore.

"Please stop, please… please stop”, you beg, hitting your own chest for it ached unbearably.

“I can, darling. Just tell me and I will make it stop”, Taehyung offers in his last attempt to lessen your grief.

“Please Taehyung please.”

“I will, look at me. Tell me what you want to forget and I will make you." 

Your eyes meet.
