Some fanart (a rarity for me) for my favorite podcast: @wolf359radio, a sci-fi audio drama about a handful of people floating, tiny and alone, a long way from home.
adding to this, heres my list of CANONICAL memes/recurring gags that I noticed on my fifth binge of the series:
- “sHUT UP [insert male crewmember here]”
- *highly concerned, questioning tone* “Heeeeraaaa...???”
- (with an air of sarcasm) “Happy To Be Of Assistance”
- excessive use of acid. no really. like, unreasonably excessive use of acid. the Hephaestus crew uses that shit like duct tape.
- Hilbert's DIY seaweed replacements (“is... pastime!”)
- irresponsible air management. 65% of the station’s problems involve issues with the artificial atmosphere (and honestly? that’s to be expected in space)
- Specimen 34, aka the goddamn plant monster. I loved 34 immensely and I loved even more that the whole crew just fuckin rolled with it.
- the fucking Empty Man.
and now for my own headcanon additions:
- can’t find something? it was probably in BOX 953 *glare at Minkowski*
- blaming increasingly ridiculous issues on the plant monster [e.g. “the aft deck lavatory has no more toilet paper” “oh the plant monster probably stole it all”]
- something breaks? Hilbert can make a replacement out of seaweed
- *alarm sounds for any reason* “Eiffel go get your burrito from the microwave”
- referring to Hilbert exclusively as “dear Rat Boy”
- bathroom breaks are Priority One Mission Tasks
- increasingly inaccurate guesses regarding the names of the songs coming through Alien Replay Radio™️
- repeated consideration of burning the Home Alone 2 tape for warmth
- on a related note, Hera canonically has access to basically all of recorded history including films but refuses to share with the crew. Eiffel begged her for a week straight to be able to watch Star Wars and then gave up. “why do you torture us like this” “I can’t override my Bentham directory so this is how I make you suffer instead”
