@ a/n. // figured i’d do a group of characters that wasn’t dorm based. this was inspired by their voice lines, and the fact that my birthday is in two days! i doubt i’ll be able to post then, since i’m in peru and i’ll be visiting the jungle and cusco that day, so i’m posting this now. and if it happens to be your birthday as well, happy birthday!

a. trappola

— of course, you being so friendly with heartslabyul, it’s without a doubt ace would quickly convince riddle to hold a birthday party for you there. it’s your birthday, after all, and he wants to go all out for his lover, so why not hold it at the place known for birthday parties? or, unbirthday parties, rather, but details, details.

— he can be rather teasing about you being the center of attention, but the funny thing is, he’s the one treating you as such in the first place. “hey, don’t you know it’s my partner’s birthday? that means they can do whatever they want!” it’s a little embarrassing honestly, but he does it with good intentions.

— prior to your birthday, when you were talking about what you hoped to receive as gifts, he may have acted like he wasn’t listening, but you better put your trust in the fact that he was paying attention to every single word. he does his best to get you what you want, but if for some reason he can’t, he’ll gift you the madol he was already saving so you can get whatever you want.

d. spade

— though he’s not sure about planning a huge party for you like ace, deuce will certainly take it upon himself to take you on a nice date. wherever on sage’s island you’d like to visit, he’s willing to take you, after all, he wasn’t saving up all that madol for nothing. you’re his beloved, and he wants to treat you like royalty.

— along the way, he does hope to make it as romantic as possible as with each place you visit he gives you another gift. at the beach he’ll gift you something he knows you’ve been longing for, and at the park he’ll gift you something that he’s heard you talk about from time to time. when he does give those things to you, he politely waits to see your reaction to see if you like it or not.

— he also asks trey how to make a cake, as he wants to treat you a nice dessert as well, once you’re back from your date. he’d like for you to have something that he made you. it’s not super complex and it doesn’t taste like the best cake in the world, but he made it with love, so he hopes you’ll accept that much.

j. howl

— he isn’t sure how you’d like to celebrate your birthday, but whatever you plan, jack will come along with you willingly. though if he had to take you out somewhere, seeing as he’s the sporty type, perhaps he’d take you out on a run on sage island’s beach. and then, once that’s over with, brings you to a nice restaurant to restore your energy.

— you’re his lovely s/o, so he’s adamant on treating you with love and care. if you’re not already full after the restaurant, then he’s fully prepared to make you a lovely birthday meal using savanaclaw’s food supply. after all, he wants you to be in good health. not to say he wouldn’t serve you a nice cake just because it’s sugary, though. it’s your birthday, and you’re well deserving of a sweet treat, no?

— he pays good attention to the things you like, so best believe he’ll also be giving you a nice gift as well. a good listener he is, paying ever so close attention to the things that catch your eye, and the things you bring up just a little more often than other things. he absolutely won’t hesitate when gifting you the best of the best.

e. felmier

— certainly, a birthday with epel is a birthday well spent. he’s more than welcome to make you some sweet apple related treats, like pies and cakes and some delicious beverages too—anything for his partner, of course. you’d almost think your birthday was apple themed, with all that he makes you.

— as for his present(s) to you, most likely you’ll find him gifting you something style or fashion related. such a thing is the heart of pomefiore, after all. no matter what kind of clothing you’re into, he’s the last person to judge you for it, and encourages you no matter what. so of course, his gift reflects that!

— needless to say, epel is sure to go the extra mile for you. it’s your birthday after all, the best day of the year for both you and him, and he wants to make sure that it shows. he wants you to be happy, so whatever kind of birthday you want, he’ll work hard to make sure it’s a birthday that you can have.

— for you, sebek is passionate and ready to celebrate your birthday with you. whatever you may desire he is certain he can give it to you, after all, as even a half fae it’s with ease that he can use his magic to get you something special. quite the opposite of how the stories tell the relationships between human and fae, certainly.

— if it’s a physical gift you’d like, he’ll definitely ask malleus for advice on how to make it or do something alike with magic. if it’s a treat you’d like, then— well, actually, maybe he shouldn’t ask for advice on this one. especially since it’s lilia who’s offering. after all, you’d like something he made himself, right? a gift that came from the heart is a good gift indeed.

— whether you’d like a large scale birthday with the entire school attending or just a date between you and him, he’s going to go all out, as a knight should, so just ask and he’ll prepare. even if you’re hesitant in asking because you think it’s too much to ask for or too expensive. no matter what it may be, he wants to cater to you, so just let him know, he’ll get it for you one way or another.

“Hey, let me take care of you today.”

You start, fixing the stressed Azul in front of you a look. He had been busy all day, doing something or another for an event at the Lounge - a profitable one, you were sure, but you couldn't help but hate how he sacrificed his health for these things.

He looks like he’s about to protest, expression screwing up in distaste, but you pose an interruption by continuing before he can.

“Don’t give me that look. I don’t want anything in return. Just let me take care of you. Please?”

Azul sighs in defeat, and just barely lets himself relax a bit. Barely. Exactly what you're looking for, and you know that you've won for today.

“Fine… if you really want to, my dear. You really don’t need to, though, you know. I’ve already gotten this far.”

“And? That doesn’t mean you don’t deserve to rest every now and again.” You counter, giving him a look that tells him that he won’t be getting out of this. Especially not just after agreeing.

It’s with gentle hands that you coax him out of his office chair, trailing your hands over his shoulders and gingerly guiding him to the couch in his office. You sit beside him, and just as carefully, you prompt him to lay his head on your lap.

“Darling…” Azul lets out a lovely sigh when you start to brush your fingers through his hair, slowly but surely turning into putty in your hands. His eyes blink closed, and you’re satisfied as you see him visibly relax.

At least, for now, you can do something.

"You... you don't even have to love me back, you know?"

Vil was looking at you, desperately, his normally perfectly porcelain skin washed out with red splotches, his watery eyes only reinforcing the look of how he must've been crying.

"My love... please..."

He's barely coherent, his words soft and slurring together as he gazed at you with desperate eyes, hands shaking. You almost feel sorry for him.

Almost.

It's with a sigh that you turn from him, tired. So, so tired of all this.

So tired of everything that he's done.

"...You had your chance." Despite your quiet volume, your resolve is strong, and there's no waver to your voice. You don't look back, even as he starts to sniffle, and you slowly start to make your way to the door.

Before you can open it, though, he's there and holding onto your wrist. You wish you could say it was harsh, that it was yet another thing you could be angry with him for, but it was gentle. It was like he was hardly there.

"Please. Darling, please." The way you turn back to him with a glare is anything but kind, but he lights up anyways. Even with how you scowl and roll your eyes at his expression, there's no way to ignore the absolute devotion on his face. Not when he looks at you like that, like you're the one that strung all the stars in the sky.

"Thank you..." Vil trails, ever so gently trailing the back of his palm along your cheek, touch feather-light as he breathes out as if in awe. "There isn't... anything I wouldn't do for you. Please. Please believe me."

When your silence is all that meets his proclamation, he falters, lip wobbling and hands shaking more, but he continues after a pause.

"You're... all I wish in life. Everything I do... is for you. Please, darling, let me remain in your life at least. Please."

He's starting to cry in earnest again, and before you even get the chance to sigh in exasperation, brows furrowed, he slides to his knees in front of you, looking up in absolute desperation. There's nothing but need for you in his expression, and it's hard to pretend you don't see it.

"All I ask, my wonderful love, is that you don't cast me away... Please. Even broken as I am, let me serve you. I beg of you."

Azul liked to think it a secret, how much adoration he held for you.

It didn't mean he was... entirely correct, but he thought it that way. And you were determined to let him keep that peace of mind, acting oblivious and playing like you couldn't see the adoration in his eyes whenever he talked to you.

His comfort was of the upmost importance to you - especially with such a sensitive issue.

Waiting for him to come to you, was truly what you thought would be the best path. But... it had been months, now, and he seemed no less cowardly.

Worrying your bottom lip between your teeth, you tap your fingers against your sides as you stand in the Monstro Lounge, the picture of anxiety as you wait for Azul to call you in to his office.

Of course, that was just the picture you portrayed.

No one else could see the love potion you had tucked in your bag, or how you had prepared for this exact moment.

You had spent all week pouring over how you would do this, how you would make Azul finally act, and how the love potion would react when met with someone that was already in love.

Extensive research is what told you that he would simply fall into a twisted sense of affection - much like your own, if you were honest, and you couldn't find that anything besides perfect.

Who wouldn't want a lover that was just as devoted to you as you were to them?

There would no worry of being cast away, or having misunderstandings, or even having silly things like time or other people come between you. How could they, when you would both do anything for each other?

You had arranged meeting your darling with an excuse of needing help studying - something that you just knew he wouldn't be able to refuse.

Not when you already held his affections, and especially not when you still possessed Ramshackle. He couldn't possibly resist the chance to force you into a deal - not that you would let him, of course, but you would let him think himself sly.

You always were good at playing oblivious... you just hoped it would hold up after you and Azul got togther.
