ASK ME ABOUT OTTO FROM THE SOUNDS OF LITTLE NIGHTMARES BY GOD I WANT TO TALK ABOUT HIM.

I'm thinking I'm just gonna' make this entire tumblr sounds of nightmares centric because I've been listening to the podcast and drew otto a little bit, the first one is the final concept, the last two are scrapped ones, esp the third, baby face lookin ass !!

but hope y'all like this !!

genuinely I can't fanthom otto has nothing more than being an emotionally grieving individual whose too traumtized to realize what things he is doing to noon honestly. like he has already invested himself where he tries to remain professional but always crosses a line just for her and I feel like it isn't just because of what happened to cece but because of the fact on some level he sees' she is in the same situation and she is Slipping Away. and him going even ' I want to see it ' to find cece likely but also it's like. noon can disappear like cece and it is actively happening in front of his eyes.

and he is trying to give her coping techniques, the breathing, everything, it's showing that he does have a lot of care for noon but I don't think he knows really how to properly separate himself from the trauma because what happened is now involved in his work.

otto to me is so stuck in one part of his mind and you can see it because he was trying to calm down noon during her panic attack over rusty but throughout ALL of that, he was still wanting her to continue. and you know that had a strain because we didn't get the usual ' sweets for my sweet ' shit.

so to me, otto and noon need to repair what dynamic they have because it is getting worse the more these sessions go on. not just on otto's part but on noon's because she is right to be upset that he had ulterior motives and intentions, but he did open up and that is a step towards understanding and I just think they're so disconnected it is really hard for noon and otto to understand each other because one has an experience tied to their trauma and the other doesn't want to dwell so hard onto it to the point of going overboard and connecting with a world that actively scares her.

like. I just don't know, I can't see otto has being an ill-intent person in my eyes. like this entire bit just confirms to me how he feels. because he wouldn't treat noon like that if he didn't care.

" you were squeezing so tight " this man is genuinely scared about experiencing the same thing happening to one child to another and he can genuinely prevent it but he also wants to know more. and I think it is a thing of this man is grappling with trying to do both as if that is genuinely possible when it probably isn't.

I do think otto is really suspicious but I don't know, he seems like one of the few adults within the little nightmares world who CARES and that's important. but I feel like something IS going to happen that fucks him up majorly and he does become horrible in some way. like he is spiralling and you can tell. and noon is just someone who unfortunately is witnessing someone who wants to help her but needs an equal amount of help

figuring out this mans colors for this design concept is hard bro but also I just think purple as a total hue works, also the yellow eyes are fun to me but I would say it isn't like a constant thing, he probably has blue-ish gray eyes if we're real here

but more otto .. I'll do outfit concepts next prolly

am I really working on an animatic to do a tumblr request? yeah.. not a final outfitting for otto but it seemed the best if it was just a sweater + some lil' dangly scarf bits, noon is also in this but I need to work on some frames for her, I got a whole audio from chapter four so it'll be based in that if y'all are curious on that

finished that otto artwork !! it's not very rendered as it's meant to be very sketched up and rough, but I hope y'all like it !! tried to make sure hues were mostly purple, red, yellow, blue, and white.

this was based from the chapter 5 episode but works as an overall character artwork !! and oh yea', this was referenced off of some photos I took to try and get the feel for the hands and the fear in his eyes specifically <3 so, just hope y'all dig it !! now time to make an otto playlist because all these hoosiers songs really vibing with him and noone rn

did some eye practice with otto and noones' eyes and how I draw them

wips of otto and noone's refs ! some soft design notes OTTO DESIGN NOTES - I like to think the eye clothing is something he seemingly picked to try and be more connected to cece in some sense, a lot of spirals and areas were he is just littered in eyes that are scattered just as much as are his goals and motivations - his coat is meant to be a little too big for him, people theorize about the candleman / ferryman being like otto or that they're one in the same and while it is interesting, I like to think they're parallel to one another and I use that as a means of the coat being kind of like the candleman / ferryman's - mismatched sock supremacy !!!!!!! - broski carries sweets wherever he goes, I like to think he has a general sweet tooth because he kind of eats candies in the middle of the night while going over noone's session tapes, mans got have his girl dinner NOONE DESIGN NOTES - theys got a tooth gap because honestly with the way noone's voice actor speaks, I just think it's funky doo silly and makes it even more precious when she has moments where she smiles because you get to see her tooth gap reflect itself - traditional patient clothing but with a little more detail, just to make it kind of cozy + some shorts - I like to think she and otto have molees and that noone's moles are moreso on their legs or around their shoulders - dirty feet because you gotta be so real with me that noone just is an outside kid or likes to play with bugs or collects them like they explained with the moths so girlie is watching stick bugs dance you can't prove otherwise - and the scars are from nightmares, I like to think a little of the nowhere creeps up more than just mental / internal in them so it might've been from just times where nightmares got particularly difficult or she cut themselves at some points while running and otto often helped with cleaning up the scars / could be an accident from gardening or etc.

What do you think of the counsellor? Have your opinions on him changed?

He is such an interesting character. I love him, but I hate him. I loathe him. He is terrible, despicable, but I can recognize his actions were out of grief and trauma.

“Please, I need to see my Sissy again.”

“I was only a boy”

“Do not go without me”

“Not again”

“She abandoned me, she wanted to get away from me. No, sissy did you abandoned me too? No, of course not, you wouldn’t have. You wouldn’t have! How could you leave your little brother behind? No, no, you wouldn’t have.”

That’s a very common theme in the series, how the adults constantly hurt the kids around them. Then how these kids grow up and hurt the kids, repeating the same cycles of their predecessors. I feel terrible for Noone, she was yet another victim in that terrible cycle, in that terrible world.

And this is super, super unlikely and I know many will disagree with me and I may be completely wrong, but I still think there’s still this very small possibility that The Counsellor may be Mono.

The Counsellor: Yellow? Was anyone around?

Interesting how the Yellow raincoat immediately picked his attention. Who was his sister, RCG? One of the ladies? Six? Someone we haven’t encountered yet? Who knows.

In the end I liked how they left the ending open (where did Noone go? Will we ever see her again?) and The counsellor’s identity ambiguous.

also also, rain coat girl is cici yeah, actually, I didn't recognize it til I finally remembered but definitely and if you think of it, that makes it worse because otto's own grief and resolve to see his sister again is for nothing because he doesn't know she is dead or gone so he doesn't even get confirmation from the ferryman / candleman which is really messed up if you linger on that for a moment

finished up a soft doodle of otto and I gotta' say the one thing I feel so kind of weirdly genius of is the idea on purple and yellow and figuring out that the rain coat girl is very much just cici / cece ( idk how to spell it ) makes me so fucking happy because I always intended otto's eyes to have the significant meaning of being really doodle-ish, like they're always frantic because he's looking for his sister. so I like to think now in his wardrobe he makes it a choice to wear yellow clothing because it gives him comfort. like his sister is still here even though she is very much Gone. that and yellow is often representative of many things but the big few for otto to me has always been cowardice, betrayal, caution, hope, philosophy, dishonesty, jealousy, covetousness, deceit, illness, hazard, and especially friendship and I'm latine and it's specifically a thing that bright marigold yellow is meant to be associated with death in some parts of mexico from what I read up on it. so, there is so much you could gage. also people talk about otto but y'all do realize this man might be german because otto is short for otfried or otmar. so, I'm now accepting that in my own headcanons of him ( yes I know cici is often short for cecilia which is a latin name in origin, but also in my hc given noone did point out that cici and otto looked NOTHING alike, it highly implies to my knowledge that otto is very much adopted )

ON GOD THAT SHIT IS IN MY DOCUMENT AND HAS BEEN STUFF I"VE BEEN TALKING ABOUT FOR A LONG TIME NOW !! /pos to me the entirety of chapter three is so interesting in the fact that it really shows how otto is worried for noone and how he actually, before things got as bad as they did, really had a large amount of care for her until because he grown too stubborn to see his own faults, chalked it up to abandonment by choice. because she did want to get away from him because of how far he was pushing it with his behavior but it's like. this entire moment is what gets me the most because it is just the questioning on : " warped by pain, do you feel that sometimes? " like really fucking concerned about that dream in particular. because it just represents him the most, I'll take a snippet from what I put down in my document + the clip but it is so fucking interesting to me !!

I think ch3 also triggered some of Otto's trauma or smth....? I mean, look how he reacted right after listening Noone's story. You know at the end of her dream The PA screamed scarily “Everyone needs someone. Don't leave me alone!” and sobbed when the Candleman took her, “Don't take her. Not this one too.”

A few seconds of silence and you can actually listen how unsettled he is for a moment. How his breathing slightly shuddered.

No wonder why he hugged her so tightly after that.

But then the mirror fell off and was broken bcs he held her too tight. I love how they put this kinda subtext in the podcast. The uneasiness of it. The writings on the wall... He also smacked a moth flying around the light, the little creature that fascinates Noone.

rotting on otto and thinking about paired with him having to lose cici and the idea that he was alone really puts things in perspective, again, because I brought this up to someone and thinking abt it more, otto pointed out when he was talking with cici in earlier episodes about he was bullied or in his words " had tormentors " when he was young. so it's like. this man definitely has so much self esteem issues and was really, really alone all the way up to adulthood and while he did have colleagues, he didn't have friends I think

yeah, I just honestly find it all so interesting their dynamic because it's really a circumstance with both individuals really seemed eager to try and work through their issues but on otto's end all his care went into misguided actions of general manipulation and being pushy to know about the candleman, the dreams, and neglecting her health the more he went on a downward spiral and I really like looking at both aspects of him and noone I do hope you or anyone else doesn't take this as me generally going ' oh he's such a good person ' because to me he's more of a person who tries to do good but is really failing to do so because he's too caught up in the past to look at what harm he's inflicted on the present, he's got a lot of layers to me and I find them all interesting and more or less consider him really sad more than anything /gen my document put it best, if you want to give it a read because I wrote something down after someone asked about my opinions on him. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1M41vWw3GWgsVhK2PEMDSrZss9rjhieDjEbHozyhhYgM/edit?usp=sharing also gonna edit this rq and say I really don't mind and even get why so many people really do hate this man bc for what its all worth, he is an absolute piece of shit, I just have a lot of brainrot on him and he's a hyperfixation and I see him in a much diff lense than other people /gen

I like to call this the wet dog circle, you see it's called that because all of these characters are my favorite characters in any media and they all range form incredibly endearing if not flawed and you wanna' give them a hug and hope the best for them to if I saw him across the street I would actually go and run him over with my car + ' WHERE IS MY LOVED ONE / FAMILY MEMBER ' truly, the paradox of dog

I like the idea of a young otto making so many attempts to try and come off as ' I am so very normal, I have never suffered any trauma ' and denying himself proper help from his colleagues, also short hair otto agenda because he either had it slicked back with gel or had it kind of fluffy and short but he just slowly stopped making proper attempts to style himself because it got to a point and if I wanna' be evil, I'd even say he grew his hair to be braided similar to the rain coat girl, because he missed his sister so much he adopted her traits subconsciously
