Not a simple infatuation crush. An actual crush like he really wants to pursue a relationship with you. He becomes very careful with his words, not wanting to mess up a smooth flirt and not wanting to accidentally say something that comes off wrong and scares you away.😭

You’ve known each other for awhile so he can’t really understand why he feels so nervous around you all of a sudden. He doesn’t show it but he’s internally screaming at himself to play it cool when he’s around you. Ran notices Rindou’s change in behavior. Rindou can mask anything from anyone, except his older brother. If you and the Haitani Brothers were hanging out, the older Haitani would purposely bring up an embarassing story about the younger so you can ask about it. (It wouldn’t be terribly embarrassing, but to Rindou it is because he wants to live up to his cool persona). Rindou would give this death glare to Ran before changing his expression when he looks at you, trying to save himself from explaining the story.

When you’re at the Haitani’s place and Rindou leaves the room to get you a snack and a glass of water, Ran literally appears out of nowhere with a baby book in his hands. Rindou’s baby book. And flops down on the seat next to you, asking if you’d like to see all these adorable pictures, knowing you’ll say yes. When Rindou comes back seeing Ran show you the photos of him crying while explaining the backstory, he instantly imagined shooting himself in the head. But his face softens and a small blush appears on his face when you look at him with your beautiful smile, telling him that he’s always been so cute.☺️(“So she thinks I’m cute?” Is what takes over his mind all day).

Rindou would wuss out when it’s just you and him hanging out and there’s that moment where a kiss feels like it’s about to happen. In those moments he feels like he forgets how to do anything, especially kissing. So he doesn’t go in for it. And if he were going to kiss you, he’d like to plan it out so it can be perfect, not only for him but for you. He wants to ask you out properly. Kiss you in a proper setting. All for you to know that he’s taking you serious. 😘

When he thinks about you late at night, he knows he has to make a move before it’s too late. He hates the thought of losing you to another guy. He wont let that happen.🙂‍↔️

I’ve said something like this before but Rindou is the type of man that will always have your back. Always. And that would never change. He’s devoted to you in every way possible and he never lets you down. Especially when it comes to defending you.

He’s never let a single soul disrespect you. He will handle anyone who tries to test you because if anyone’s got a problem with you, they got a problem with him too!🗣️

If you’re beefing with a girl and end up fighting her, Rindou would definitely hype you up: “yea kick her ass baby!🤳”. He gives you a congratulating hug and kiss after you win😘

Since Rindou loves you so much, when you’re ready to be more open and tell him more about how your toxic family members or ex friends hurt you in the past, you can see his eye twitch as he listens. And lord when you cry mid story telling, internally he’s raising hell on earth, getting your lick back for you. On the outside, he pulls you onto his lap and gently runs his hand up and down your back when you latch onto him for comfort.🩷

He knows it’s wrong to wish bad on other people but he’s Rindou Haitani. He’s not a perfectly moral person. Yes he is a good man, but to a certain extent. Not surprising since he’s a criminal, a hot one😍. But if he can’t do anything about the people in your past, he’d hope karma hits them hard.

The new information you tell him has him pacing at night because he’s so pissed he can’t sleep. It bothers him thinking about those people living their lives as if they did nothing wrong, as if they didn’t traumatize you. The thought ticked him off so bad, he went to his home gym and immediately started punching the heavy sand bag with extreme force. He wanted to get rid of anyone that made you cry. ❌

Shit if it was up to him, he’d rewrite your story so none of that pain ever happened to you. He finds the saying “everything happens for a reason” bullshit. Most of the time, there is no reason. He would be really good at all those tricks you see other skateboarders do but better. Rindou always does it better. He’s the type to take almost anything as a challenge and will keep practicing til he’s perfect and once he gets something down, his beautiful smile will never fade as he has his fun.☀️

On a nice day, he likes to go to the skatepark with Ran, bringing his bluetooth speaker to play his favorite songs which other skaters there also love to vibe to (Rindou has the best playlist) and brings his stash of pre-rolls in his bag to smoke later because who doesn’t like a chill sesh after having a fun time?🍃 Oh! And can’t forget the alcohol in the cooler

What really makes Rindou’s day though is when you come around to see him. He’s a weak man when it comes to you (he won’t admit that) so I feel like if he spotted you mid board trick, he’d almost bust his ass but successfully save himself to not look silly and act like that didn’t happen😭

When he starts teaching you how to skateboard, you can’t even focus on what the hell he’s telling you when his hands are holding your waist keeping you balanced. And god feeling his muscles as you hold onto him drives you crazy😵‍💫

When you try to skate in a straight line without Rindou’s help, you get the hang of it a bit and he cheers you on saying you got it. (You’re going at the speed of a turtle🐢). He chuckles seeing you panic when you start leaning too much towards the left after you tried to give yourself more speed. Your body goes into a frozen mode so all you’re doing is quietly screaming like “aaaaaaaah” unable to rebalance yourself after Rindou tells you to shift your weight.

He catches up to you quickly, since you didn’t really go that far, and holds onto you. Your arms instantly fly around his neck, holding onto him tightly as you giggle out a nervous sigh and he asks if you’re okay, clearly wanting to laugh at your failed attempt at speeding up on his board.

“Chill sweetheart, y’know I won’t let anything happen to you as long as I’m here right?”

You both got a little crush on each other that was never confessed. But you remained great friends. Even after he got locked up in Juvie and met up with you the moment he could see you again, it felt like he never left.

Everything always feels natural with Rindou. You never have anything to hide and neither does he. So many nights spent talking about your personal lives, so many days wandering off to wherever his motorcycle takes the both of you and talking about your dreams. Rindou was an active criminal (still is), but he never made you feel in danger. He made you feel safe. And it always felt like you were the only people that could really see and understand each other. That’s why you’re best friends.😊

Best friends, is what you always refer to each other as. I mean he is your best friend and you’re his. You always have each other’s backs. Like when he beat up one of your ex boyfriends for verbally abusing you and cheating on you, when you confronted a psychotic girl he used to date cuz she was trying to cause something horrible to Rindou because he broke up with her, when he taught you self defense after you gossiped to him about some guy trying to stalk you (he dealt with him right after), when you would defend Rindou’s name when other people would talk shit about him and his brother when they know nothing. And of course, doing what best friends are for, supporting each other through hard times. There was never a moment you failed each other in a time of need. 🫂

Best friends is what you always refer to each other as, even when there were clear moments of flirting between one other. Even after Rindou first told you he loves you and you told him you love him too. Best friends, is what you always refer to each other as after you’d become lovers for a good while before having to break it off due to something that simply got in the way. Most of the time it was because his gang would get into conflict and he didn’t want you to possibly be involved. ☹️

You were always good after breaking off. No hard feelings. You’re somehow able to work platonically and romantically. No ones ever seen that before so it was definitely odd to others but it wasn’t to you two. That was the cycle you had as best friends. Rindou never did anything wrong. Yes you two did have arguments sometimes but it wasn’t anything jeopardizing, it would just be normal couple disagreements and you always made up in the end because you’re both understanding and able to come to an agreement. You sigh when you feel stupid for wishing for that. But you can’t help it. He’s special to you. You’re special to him too, you just don’t know it but, you can feel it. Rindou never stopped missing you. He looks up at the same star you do. Wishing for one more shot. He wants to make it right this time. He’s willing to make it right this time. You’re the woman he wants to be with for the rest of his life, but just how will he get his best friend back? Rindou thinks about you day and night. He wants to see you again, He needs to see you again. He will see you again.

Your friends are all moved on with their lives, always talking about how happy they are with their soon to be husbands. You support them with a smile but inside you want to cry. You want to move on but you can’t. Rindou can’t leave your mind. Why couldn’t he have treated you badly? why couldn’t he have cheated on you? Why couldn’t he have just done something horrible to you so you can move on? Why did he have to be so perfect? My god….

He’s just suspended majority of the time and would come back as if he never got in trouble for beating some kid up in the hallway for looking at him wrong. Rindou also likes getting people in trouble by riling them up to yell insane profanities when the principal would walk by. He’s such a shitbag. A dreamy one. ✨

Clearly his most favorite person to bother is you with how much he distracts you in class when he’s bored out of his mind. You’d feel a tiny poke of a pencil behind your shoulder and he’d whisper:

This would always start the quiet bickering in the back of the classroom which always lead you both to getting in trouble for not paying attention to the lesson. Rindou laughs seeing how you glare at him, especially when he does that childish “ooooo” when you’re called to the main office. Or the times during gym class when he scares the shit out of you by randomly slam dunking a basketball right by you. Or the times he disturbs your beauty sleep by blasting a new track he made outside your window all because you weren’t answering his texts that were asking about what notes he missed when he was suspended. Rindou gives you a headache sometimes but he’s actually really sweet and smart. He has your back when someone bothers you and handles whoever decided to piss you off. He really does study the notes you give him, you can tell by how well he does on tests. And throughout all the years you’ve known him, he’s never crossed you. He just likes annoying your ass. 😭

Sometimes your girlfriends tease you about him, singing that stupid song from elementary school about kissing in a tree. You always said he’s just a friend. And he is. You and Rindou have never done anything more than what friends do at all. You two just come off closer to an outsider point of view but really, you’re normal friends that have looked out for each other. Even after you pinch the shit out of his ear for shaking your soda when you’re not looking so it can splash all over your face. You’re so comfortable with Rindou, you never saw him as more than a friend.

That is until he started talking about a girl he was interested in. You didn’t know why you felt bothered when he told you he started talkin with a girl. It made your heart sink as you realized what you were feeling. Jealousy. But you couldn’t show that. As a best friend, you supported him and feigned excitement for him. It’s not like he couldn’t pull girls. Rindou had hella girls swooning over him left and right and could have any of them if he wanted to. But he never did. You don’t know why.

Rindou’s reason: he’s always wanted you. Well not always. His feelings for you were confusing. He found himself in love with you some days then get scared and gaslight himself into thinking he’s only interested in you because you’re the only girl he really knows. It’d only work for a few hours though and soon enough he was right back to accepting he’s in love with you. But he never sensed that you felt the same way. He’s spoken to Ran about it and of course his big brother’s advice was to move on and not lose sleep over it. So, that’s what he did. Rindou just decided to click on a random girl’s name in his dms and respond to her, starting something new. It felt nice. The only downside to moving on from his crush on you was how he kept having dreams about dating you. It was like the universe was toying with him and it pissed him off.🙂‍↕️

Your nights have become quiet and it’s odd not having Rindou bother you at late hours. Now it was a blessing for you to not be jumpscared out of your sleep but you missed the way he would randomly appear at your place. As you rest in your bed, you start remembering the features you love about him. How beautiful his violet eyes are and his perfect his smile with those gorgeous white teeth. The way he leans back, rolling to his side when he’s having a really good laugh. The way he is so sweet to you when you need a good friend to listen to your words. You find that his intelligence (street wise and academically) is the most attractive to you and you love the way he’d look so focused during your study sessions. Sure Rindou has his many moments of getting on your damn nerves but he’s never actually made you upset. You giggle to yourself thinking about the recent events of your bickering. I’m screwed. After i little (a lot) of convincing you finally agreed. When Rindou was going to the next meeting of the gang you came along with him. And when you stepped in? Oh boy.

Everyone looked at you confidence for a second, then smiled. "Ahh here you are!! Rindou told me you're coming. You can sit with my girlfriend while we finish meeting?" You heard Ran saying and turned to him.
