Stay with me? (Todd Haynes x FEM reader)

Hey guys! This is my first post, sorry if it's crappy lol. (Not proof read)

I thought I'd start of with a Todd Haynes imagine since I haven't really seen many :)

Just me and my thoughts in my room laying on my bed, just a random thought that popped into my mind, about how Todd and I have been close friends since we were in kindergarten. I know, a long time right?

He's always been there for me, and I've been there for him. I still remember the first day we met, he was awkward and shy, I didn't really think much of it then, but now I keep thinking it was cute.

As of today, Todd is still the same person as from when I had met him, although now he has become more social, so he's not as shy, but still awkward.

My thoughts were interrupted by a knocking at my bedroom door.

"Come in" I said, the door opened and a head poked through the gap. It was Todd. "Hey Y/N!" Todd said with a cheery tone. "Hey Todd!" I smiled, Todd walked the rest of the way in and happily sat on the edge of my bed.

"How was your day?" He asked, I thought back to how my day was. "It was ok, ya know, just the usual. How was yours?" I looked into his dark brown eyes, just thinking how beautiful they are, "Uh yeah it was ok, went to the comic book store with Dave and Marty which was fun, then Dave and I split ways with Marty and we ended up getting robbed again.." Todd looked down with a frustrated look on his face. I furrowed my eyebrows, "Again? The same assholes who robbed you last time?" Todd lifted his head up avoiding eye contact and nodded. "What did they take?" I asked, Todd sighed "my comic books and shit" he finally looked at me and shrugged his shoulders with another sigh.

We talked for a few more hours, me lying on my side on one side if the bed and Todd laying on the other looking up at the ceiling. "I know I've said this a lot, but, thank you, for being here" I looked at Todd with a greatful smile. He looked at me and gave me a small smile back. "Yeah of course, I'm always going to be here for you, no matter what." "And I'm always going to be there for you too, I hope you know that" we continued looking into each other's eyes.

"I love you" Todd accidentally blurted out, his eyes winded once he realized what he had just said and looked away, I continued looking at him with wide eyes. Did he just say he loved me? Wow, didn't see that coming. Over the past few years I developed a crush on Todd, but I never had the courage the confess my feelings for him. "I'm sorry, shit, I'm sorry" Todd panicked, he began to sit up and get off the bed, but before he could I sat up and grabbed hold of his wrist.

He looked back down at me still with panic flooding in his eyes. "I love you too" I said quietly but loud enough for him to hear. The panic in his eyes started to fade and was replaced with relief. "You do?" "Yeah I do, I have for a while now, I just didn't think you'd feel the same so I tried pushing those feelings away.." I looked into his eyes as he slowly sat back down on the bed. "I've had feelings for you for a while too, but yeah I had the same thought as you I guess" he chuckled. I smiled with a blush creeping onto my cheeks.

We both stayed silent while looking into each other's eyes, not daring to say another word. Suddenly he started leaning in, I followed. We both stopped once our noses touched, just taking a moment to process what was happening. Then Todd took the courage to close the gap and placed his lips softly onto mine. It was slow and gentle, it felt like it lasted for hours but in reality it was a minute or so.

Todd pulled away and leant his forehead against mine, smiling at me blushing. I was doing the same. We both stayed in silence for a few more minutes until we noticed it was getting quite late.

"I should probably head home" he said disappointingly, I took a moment in thought then finally settled on that thought. He kissed me forehead and began to get up again, "Stay with me?" I finally said. Todd looked suprised, then a big smile made its way onto his face. He made his way back over to the bed and layed down again on his back. I then moved so then my head was rested on his chest and had my arm across his stomach. He wrapped his arms around me and we just stared into space with small smiles still on our faces, eventually drifting off peacefully to sleep.
