I absolutely LOATHE it when people erase Maedhros having any involvement in the raising of Elrond and Elros. Like, in many of the older works, Maedhros was the one who took the boys in the first place, he most certainly had a place in raising them. Also, this explains how both Elrond and Elros functioned well in society. Maedhros had flaws that could be balanced by Maglor as to not be passed down, Maglor had flaws that could be balanced by Maedhros as to not be passed down. If either elf had done it alone, Imladris and Numenor would have been very different places.
