So, I saw this scene as a gifset before I had even finished season 1
And I thought it was fake. I thought someone somehow faked a gif to slide Maia into Marissa's lips, because my brain, post-kcfh series finale, couldn't process a wlw ship I like actually happening in some way.
So I get to this scene in the middle of the night, with my gf half-watchinf with me, and she kisses her and I go "WHAT. WHAT. WAIT. THIS IS REAL?" and then I realize what is actually happening in the scene. "NO. NO. FUCK. DON'T DO THIS TO ME." and my girlfriend is just, the fuck are you shouting about
For real the single most out of touch thing ever written in The Good Fight is Diane getting called an out of touch 2nd wave feminist... by a 3rd wave feminist. In an episode from 2018.
My Good Wife conspiracy theory is that Cary was supposed to be Mark Feuerstein's character in s6 of The Good Fight, but they couldn't get Matt Czuchry. It just makes too much sense, and they were already doing a victory lap with Eli and Elsbeth coming back.
I need Diane to be proud of Cary!
I love how Diane's first appearance has her telling Alicia they need to have solidarity to break glass ceilings and yadda yadda but she ends up being Cary's advocate. This is partially to balance out Will's obvious bias but also because, as Will teased her for, Diane's feminist solidarity only goes so far and she responds more to Cary's golden boy brand of ambition and dedication (*cough*lack of children*cough*)
Whenever she tries to play the "we're women in a men's space" card on Alicia it goes horribly because lol Alicia is not that kind of feminist
This post is kinda like my other one but a bit better lmao. I might make variations of this with other pieces of media but it depends onnn how well this is received
