Synopsis: You babysit Taehyung’s little cousins. As a famous idol, he’s not around a lot. But, this night, he decides to make a surprise visit.

You'd just finished making dinner when there was a knock at the door. The two boys you were babysitting didn't even look up from their plates as you left to answer the door.
"Hello?" you asked, pulling open the door.
You stood in shock at the boy who stood in front of you. Kim Taehyung. He wore a pair of sweats, a hoodie with the hood pulled over his messy blond hair, and a mask; but you could still tell it was him.
He pulled down the mask when he met your eyes and bowed politely. He carried a large duffel bag on his shoulders that looked to packed heavily.
"Ah, Y/N," he said. "I take it my aunt and uncle aren't home?"
You nodded sheepishly, surprised the boy still remembered your name. Your families had been friends since you and Taehyung were children. He was only a year older than you, but because he had moved so far away and was successful, it sometimes felt like he was a whole generation older than you.
"Do you mind if I come in and see the boys? I wanted to surprise them," he said, holding up his duffel bag, which you assumed held various presents for his younger cousins.
You nodded and stepped aside and allowed the boy to step inside. With the shut of the door, the two boys curiosity was piqued and you soon heard excited footsteps and yells.
"Boys!" you chastised. "Remember your manners!"
The two boys immediately bowed to their cousin before rushing to hug him again. Taehyung had crouched down and opened his arms wide, lovingly crushing both boys into his chest.
"I have presents for you," he said, unzipping the duffel bag partway. "Have you been good for your parents, respected your elders?"
The boys nodded furiously, anxiously trying to peer into the bag.
Tae pulled out two toys for each of them. They squealed in delight and hugged their elder cousin again. The toys looked expensive, something they would normally only get during a special occasion. Which--you figured to these boys--Tae's visit was a special occasion.
"All right," you said, taking control of the situation. "You can play with your new toys for an hour, but then you have to go to bed."
The boys whined until you pointed out it was just cutting into their hour. You couldn't help but laugh slightly.

You were surprised when Tae followed you into the kitchen. He began helping you clean up dinner, helping you load the dishwasher.
"How long are you in Daegu?" you asked.
"A week," he answered. "I just flew in this afternoon."
"How's your family? I don't see them as often since I moved to university."
You didn't really move far, just into a dorm in a different part of the city, but because you weren't home as often, you didn't see Tae's parents when they came to visit. You did occasionally see his sister, trying to make plans with her every month or so. She was a year younger than you and you'd always felt like a sister to her, you felt obligated to be a role model to her.
You saw Tae's aunt, uncle, and little cousins most because you still babysat for them on occasional weekends. You'd started when you were in high school, when oldest boy was a baby and the second wasn't even born yet
"Good," he said. "I don't see them much either."
You knew that pained Taehyung. He'd always been so close to his family and you remember when he first moved to Seoul and you kept in touch for the first few months, he'd call you and tell you how much he missed his family. But, soon those calls stopped and you assumed he'd stopped missing you too.
"I haven't seen your family since before I moved to Seoul," he said. "Your brother out of university?"
"Yeah," you answered. "He works in Seoul now, actually. He got a fancy job up there."
Taehyung looked excited at that. His body physically moving upward and his eyes widening.
"You'll have to give me his number! I'd love to meet up with him."
You agreed, shutting the dishwasher and starting its cycle.

The boys--as you expected--would not go to bed. They were still too excited with their new toys and with Tae's presence. He indulged them for a little while, listening to their ramblings about their classmates and about the TV shows they liked.
Tae in turn told them stories about Seoul and being an idol--at least the kid friendly stories. He promised them that he could introduce them to their favorite animated character and you couldn't help but smile.
You put on an episode of their favorite show, which normally calmed them, and put them to sleep halfway through the second episode. You queued up the show and sat down on the couch. Both of the boys wedged themselves on either side of Tae and he put one of his arms around each of them.
Just after the first episode, both of the boys were sleeping soundly. You smiled over at Tae and each of you carried one of the boys to their room. After tucking each of them in, the two of you made you way back to the living room.
The kid's show was still playing and neither you got up to change it, or had any other suggestion of what to watch.
“Still like Chocolate Corns?" he asked, pulling a bag of the snack from his duffel.
You smiled and nodded and reached for the bag. You opened them and popped one in your mouth. You were surprised he remembered your favorite snack and couldn't help the smile that broke out across your face.
"It's getting late," you said. "Your aunt and uncle typically don't get back until the early morning. You really don't have to stay."
"You sound like you don't want me to," Tae teased, sneaking one of the Chocolate Corns from the bag.
"No, Tae, it's just you're only here a week. I understand you might want to go home and see your family."
"They're asleep by now, anyway," he said. "Besides, I missed you."
"Really?" you asked, trying to hide your blush. "Then, how come you never call?"
You only meant to tease the boy, you knew his busy schedule rarely allowed him to call his parents. However, Tae knitted his eyebrows and looked down at you.
"No, Tae, I was just teasing," you said. "I know you don't have time to call."
"I knew you'd be here," he said, quietly, his deep voice taking on a huskier quality. "I wanted to see you."
He pressed his forehead to yours, both of your breaths smelling of chocolate. His hands roamed up to your hair and you closed your eyes feeling his breath graze over your lips.
"No," he said. "I want to save this for the right time. Would you go on a date with me? Sometime this week, before I have to leave."
"Yes," you said, smiling.
He moved hair out of your face and wrapped an arm around your shoulders.

You heard the door close and immediately popped up. Tae's aunt and uncle had just walked in. Tae appeared to have also fallen asleep, based on his disheveled hair and half open eyes.
"Taehyung!" they exclaimed, rushing to greet their nephew.
They either hadn't noticed how you two had been asleep in each other's arms or had chosen not to comment on it.
"The boys are fast asleep," you said, once the pleasantries had been exchanged. "I should get going it's late."
"Oh, Taehyung, be polite and take the girl home?" his aunt said, winking at you. She had noticed. You tried to hide the blush forming on your cheeks.
"I'd love to."

"Come on, sachon hyung!" the voice of one of your students called out from down the hall. You recognized his voice as one of your youngest students, Kim Junseo.
"Teacher!" the boy called, walking through the classroom. Behind him, he dragged a guy probably around your age. You were caught off guard at his cheeky smile. "I brought my cousin for show and tell today! He's an idol!" The boy spoke quickly, hardly getting the words out right.
"Oh well, show and tell isn't until the end of the day, Junseo. I'm sure your cousin has other things to do until then."
"No!" the boy protested. "He promised to spend his whole day with me!"
"All right, Junseo, why don't sit down and get ready for class? I'll talk with your cousin."
The boy went to his seat and began to aimlessly color in his notebook. You couldn't help but think it was cute, the boy obviously looked up to his older cousin.
"Kim Taehyung," he said, holding out his hand.
You reached out and shook his hand politely. You had noticed that he looked vaguely familiar, but you were now certain that he was from BTS. Due to your busy university schedule and the stresses that came with your first year of teaching, you had only vaguely heard their name and music in the background.
"BTS?" you asked.
Taehyung perked up, a smile breaking out across his face. You to admit--he had a nice smile--you could see where Junseo got his infuriatingly adorable smile from.
"Are you part of Army?!"
"Army?"
His face fell.
"Our fans," he said. "That's what their called."
"Oh, no," you said. "Sorry, I've just seen you around."
He nodded.
"I did promise to spend the day with him," Taehyung said. "I don't want to disrupt class, of course. But I'm only in Daegu another day."
You thought over the situation. It was obvious Junseo didn't see his cousin much and idolized him. And having another set of adult hands to handle your classroom full of 5 and 6-year-olds was appealing.
"All right," you said. "You can stay until show and tell, but you'll have to help out."
"No problem."

You'd left him alone with the kids for a few minutes to grab the next activity you'd accidentally left in the teacher's lounge. You'd left them all singing a simple song about counting you figured even the kid's could continue on their own.
However, when you walked back into the classroom, all of the children were back at their seat's laughing as Taehyung passed out candy, he'd apparently been hiding the whole time.
While candy was sometimes allowed in the classroom on special occasions, it would only hype up the children and cause them to be less focused on the activities.

"I just wanted to make today as fun for him as possible," Taehyung said, when you pulled him aside.
"I understand that, but they won't focus on the lessons now," you said, crossing your arms over your chest.
"I'm sorry, Miss Y/N. I promise I'll keep out of the way."
"Wait," you said. An idea forming. "Why don't you teach a lesson? We sing and dance a lot. We could all write a song together."
After further expanding the idea, Taehyung agreed.

"All right, class, this is Kim Taehyung and he's going to help us write a song."
The rest of the lesson went smoothly. Taehyung was actually great with children and seemed to love them just as much as you did. You smiled as the kids would sing and dance and pretend to be idols. He laughed and encouraged them. In the end, the class ended up creating a new song that helped teach them colors.
"We wrote it ourselves, Teacher!" one of your students said, beaming.
"I'm so proud of you!" you said.

Junseo stood at the front of the class. Taehyung sat on a stool beside him and waved to the class as Junseo introduced him as his cousin.
"He's an idol and he's in this band BTS. They're really cool and they get to travel all over the world. I don't get to see Tae much, but I see him on magazines and stuff. I even got to go to the big arena and see him perform once. I want to be an idol when I grow up too, because I want people to come see me like that."
You were trying to hold back tears as the little boy talked about his cousin. It was sweet to know that he had a good role model in his life.
Taehyung, too, seemed slightly emotional, although he was holding it back. You noticed his watery eyes and he bit his lip a few times.

"Thank you for letting me be in your classroom today," Taehyung said, Junseo held his hand beside him. "It means a lot that I could spend the day with Junseo."
"Of course," you said. "The kids had a great time and I think they actually learned something in the process." You laughed and found that you had actually enjoyed having him help you in the classroom.
"You know, I have one more day in Daegu before I have to leave and I'm going to be picking Junseo up from school tomorrow. Would you want to do something afterwards?"
"Something?" you asked, arching an eyebrow.
"Anything you want," he said.
"Like a date?"
"If that's what you want."
