Especially with the rise of Internet bullying using AI. Be very cautious and don't send anyone photos of yourself, period. I know with social media etc it's normalized sending photos of yourself to friends but there's been horrible news about people using AI to take regular ordinary pictures and turn them into nudes etc.
Additionally , don't trust unsolicited links texted, emailed, or dmd to you. If it's not from a trusted source don't open it.
it's a very dangerous environment to be on Internet, especially for kids.
Please be smart and safe.
Hey. Minors following me. Internet safety is key!! NEVER include these in your bio/byf:
Medical diagnoses - this is nobody's business but yours. You don't owe anyone an explanation for why you are the way that you are
Trauma - same reason as above
Triggers - people can use these against you! Don't give people tools to hurt you. No one has to know what tags you block. Just block tags to stay safe!
Age - age is okay for adults to include but is iffy when you're a teen. Predators want this information, don't give people more than they need. Just state that you're a minor, that's all that anyone needs to know.
In general: stay safe. If you're not comfortable with every stranger out there having access to this information, you shouldn't post it on the internet.
Play devil's advocate and ask yourself about what would happen if someone searched for your information with intent to hurt you. You do NOT owe anyone an explanation!
Im so fucking tired of AI
Everyone is always talking about ai and how great it is and how they are “artists” now and platforms just wants to use my things, my drawings, my pictures and my information without my permission and there is no viable way to refuse it.
Its so sickening, I don’t want my art and my life to be thrown in this gutter and indiscriminately fed to a machine,
like, do you even know what these silly little drawings and stuff mean to me? It is my everything, it is my reason to exist, but i feel like I’m already obsolete as if my life wasn’t pointless enough already.
I know they don’t care and never will, it is all a manifestation of the reality that is ruled only by corporate greed where there is no place for feelings or anything meaningful. Even if i killed myself after accepting that there is no place left for me in this world, nobody would even try to reconsider, let alone actually stopping this madness.

PLEASE stop using AI! It is so damaging to actual content creators whose art gets slandered and degraded by AI. There's also the really horrific situation of women being made nude by AI and those photos being nonconsensually!

ICYMI, there was fear that companies were scraping public AO3 fics to train their AI without the consent of AO3 or its users. That fear has been confirmed.
AO3 has written about what they’re doing (and what they’re not able to do), and they recommend restricting your work to AO3 registered users only. [Instructions here]
This gross misuse of the archive by techbros is why I’ve locked down my fics for the foreseeable future. I recommend the rest of you do the same.

I know I would feel pretty defeated if my art ended up being used without my consent to train AI, I can imagine that other artists share this sentiment.

to the beautiful writers that might see this, ao3 is currently being scrapped by an AI company called RIVD. this isn't your usual AI text scrapping, they are specifically targeting ao3 to feed their own AI / "tech-orientes" fanfiction site
their "takedown form" demands that you give them your full legal name and address. they do not say what they're doing with your personal details. there's no proof that this form works
until ao3 comes out with a proper statement or manages to lock their scrapped, just lock your fics for registered users
AI ON INSTAGRAM If you post your art n stuff on instagram and/or other social media by meta, you might want to check out this link. I got an E-Mail from Meta telling me about the usage of ai on instagram and how they want to use my posts to train their ai. Obviously i don't want that. However, They also included a link, with which you can deny the usage of your posts as training data for ai. And like an hour after i filled out the form, they accepted my request as valid, soo.... apparently it works. idk what else to put here lol...
