Cooldown Room @ Hungary 2024

Lewis: You guys are fast.

Lando: You had a fast car seven years ago.

Lewis: Seven years ago? long time. Were you here seven years ago?

Lando: You had a quick car, and now it’s us.

Lewis: I wasn't complaining, I was just complimenting your car.

If I had a dollar for every time a rookie driver without an F1 seat liked gross tweets shading/insulting Lance Stroll I’d have two dollars, which isn’t a lot but it’s weird it’s happened twice 🙃

David Tennant is a perfect example of how gender ideologists are their own worst enemy. Repeatedly, it’s their own awful behaviour that turns people against them. Look at JK Rowling: it wasn’t just what she said that got people siding with her, it was the reaction from gender ideologists. If they had just brushed her off and ignored her, I don’t think she’d be as relevant in the debate as she is now.

So now we have Tennant, hailed as an amazing trans ally to the point that he wins an ally award for textbook performative allyship. And he decided to call gender critical feminists “little whinging f------” (no idea what the f word is, this is from the Telegraph), continuing with “who’re on the wrong side of history and they’ll all go away soon”.

Women who are simply concerned about our sex-based rights. About the protection of women as a class in law. About the ability to organise together without the presence of male people, which is crucial for class consciousness and therefore feminist progress. Lesbians who are being told we’re bigoted for not being attracted to males, and that we need to change (who I mention because lesbians have been very vocal in this debate for this reason).

This is a heterosexual male who is looking at these women, and deciding that our very real concerns are just “whinging”. Because of course he is, our concerns don’t affect him. Of course he claims we’ll “go away soon”, presumably because men like him will silence us. This is the same shit that was being said about the suffragettes. About the Me Too movement. About any kind of feminist movement. That we just need to shut up and go away.

And we’re supposed to believe that this typical male view of women is super progressive this time, because it’s in the name of trans activism?

Less and less people are willing to believe that. More are starting to see the misogyny and homophobia that fuels gender ideology, all because the people who advocate for it are always so quick to let it show.

They are always so quick to claim that their biggest enemies are feminists, and not the violent men that actually wish them harm. They are always so quick to attack women first and foremost.

And people are noticing. They noticed when JK Rowling started to speak up, and they’re noticing now that a male celebrity has gone on record voicing hatred for feminists in the name of gender ideology. They’ll notice again when the next celebrity either speaks up or bashes women.

I hope Tennant enjoys his shiny ally award, all while his actions are causing women to turn against him and his cause.

I really turned back my interest in TLOU2 with the “you have to kill people and dogs and then listen to friends and owners screaming and crying and calling their names” because it just hit wrong.  Nah, game, if you are absolutely 100% forcing me to kill continually to complete this game, you really don’t get to smirk and rub it in my face: Oh wow, don’t you feel like such an utter piece of shit?  You should, you monster.  That’s not asking hard questions and making us think about moral impact, that’s just indulging in writing some condescendingly sadistic Saw-level guilt porn.

But seeing some of the reactions coming out on my dash, yeah, looks like I’m not missing much on the storyline and characterizations either.  Bummer.  Looks like they went with yet another Grimdark Revenge Porn Fantasy, where suddenly “I can’t kill this villain because it’ll make me Like Them (after I’ve killed however many people already to get here).”  And look, I’m in favor of women getting to explore thoughtful dark, complicated revenge arcs–Sadie Adler, hi–but this just sounds forced and poorly written when there were so many directions that it could have gone after TLOU1.

Yet another female character goes down the vengeance completely breaks women road, apparently.  Cool.

Throughout the entire seasons of TVD, I’ve noticed that everyone (except for Klaus) treats her like an object instead of a human being (as one can be for a vampire). But to trample over someone who compels you to be his spy, sex toy, and blood bag mentally, physically, and emotionally abusing a 17 year old girl who wants to be noticed for being herself is one thing and sometimes they’ll brush it “under the rug.”

But disregarding bodily anatomy and a woman’s consent to “possibly” carry your dead wife’s Gemini coven baby twins and having no choice but to do it (since everyone guilt trips Caroline to NOT kill them) is another matter entirely. all everyone see in Caroline is a “blonde barbie doll that needs to be caged.” they don’t take in account about what she wants, they don’t listen to her ideas when it comes to their safety or everyone else’s and always being treated as a pawn and getting kidnapped (or tortured, or both) by someone who sees her as insignificant and useless by her friends.

it’s insulting to females everywhere and shows that a beautiful, strong, intelligent character like Caroline to be subjectified as a surrogate is NOT a good image you want to make towards young women and adolescent girls. Especially towards a popular show as this. For all of our sake, I hope this is just a “rumor” and NOT an actual storyline. Because if it IS a storyline for one of my favorite characters on the show, I’ll just say that I’ve lost complete and total respect on how JP is handling it and just resign to watching The Originals instead. (sorry for my long rant, but I had to say this and get it off my mind).

I didn’t expect JP to do some kind of mystical pregnancy because it would remind me like twilight, but she did it anyway and got hayley pregnant with klaus’ child in season 4 which i love in the originals. now for season 7, she’s considering this again for one of the most beloved characters in a fandom...as well as NOT having any say in this whatsoever? to be frank, i thought JP would go back to her roots and create a season that people (and herself) can be proud of...but my dreams are crushed because of this.

It’s so weird that people actually give a fuck about Caroline’s pregnancy.

I mean we all know that the show is… bad (lol i’m so gentle).

Does this uproar mean that people still had some expectations?

Polyvore is Dead

Eleven years ago, on February 1, 2007, a fashion website captivated people into making an account and from that amazing idea, people became loyal and valued members. A website where creativity reigned supreme and fashion is the opiate of choice. That website was called ‘‘Polyvore.” Over time, the fan base for that grew and grew until they decided to modernize by coming up with an app for smartphones as society increased with their usage and convenience. I am proud to say that I am a loyal Polyvore fan, even before I signed up for the website.

Seeing those beautiful outfits that were created for movies, books, TV Shows, characters, fanfiction stories for OCs, and collections for everything and anything came in plenty: collections on spy gear, princess gowns, Disney Princesses, superheroes, etc. I still remember visiting their website, looking at ‘The Clique’ series outfits and loving every single one that was made.

As I grew up, that passion intensified until I made an account of my very own and I was happy. Now, that joy has turned to despair and disappointment as we say goodbye to this wonderful website that has become not only a part of our daily lives but as an escape from reality from which a world of ‘Pure Imagination’ comes to life.

Millions of fans have downloaded, shared, created, and enjoyed the fashion app Polyvore, who gave users - men, women, and children alike - a chance to express their individuality and imaginative creativity. An app that I, and countless others used daily for fanfictions, pure enjoyment, and a way to bring a little sense of joy to our hectic, stressful lives.

This morning, I went straight into the app for some morning inspiration for one of my many OFC fanfic fashion sets, when I found it to be completely closed off. Naturally, I thought they were having some system problems, so I thought nothing of it. Thinking to myself - and those who use the app and/or website - by this afternoon or the evening, Polyvore would be fixed.

Needless to say, I was thoroughly disappointed with that naïve idea, when all it said was ‘No Network Connection.’ I didn’t know what was going on and, naturally, I panicked. Alright...some of you might think of me as over dramatic and a wuss for that, but I was scared. Everything that I’ve done in the name of self-expression, art, fashion, individuality, creativity, and imagination, was not available for anyone to see, much less me. Even friends and followers who I’ve made and commented on their ‘art’ has been completely shut out from us.

Polyvore Is Dead

When I saw the blog post and read that another website company bought Polyvore, I was heartbroken. Having taken a look at the new website, “SSENSE,” it’s without a doubt: a disappointment...with a capital ‘D’. There’s not a shred of individuality, no sense of creativity; just a fashion site to buy things from like Barney’s, Saks, or even Macy’s. The once independent, one-of-a-kind, interesting fashion website has become just like every other fashion website out there: dull and uninteresting. This is a website that people would rather not sign up for, much less buy from it. If I wanted to buy something, I’ll go on the infinite number of websites for different companies and buy from there.

Honestly, this is what they’ve done to Polyvore. To them, it was a great move, but to the loyal and dedicated fans who signed up for these accounts, made friends, expressed their artistic vision of what they see it as for themselves - and receiving positive criticism for it, nevertheless - it was the single most horrific deal ever made. And I hope someone brings it back because I want to express myself through fashion and Polyvore has always been a way for me to be an artist through that medium.

In the immortal words of fashion icon, Blair Waldorf: “Fashion is the most powerful art there is. It’s movement, design, and architecture all in one. It shows the world who we are and who we’d like to be.”

And, I, for one, would feel very lonely without it. Share, reblog, retweet, and comment on your feelings about this.
