Halloween Doodles
She'd quickly handed the children costumes, "I know its not celebrated here, not yet at least- but please! I'll bring some tasty treats! And a couple pumpkins too!"
Shippo already exited to change as quickly as he could, "Lady Kagome what's not celebrated?"
Kohaku eyed the fluffy piece she'd handed him, "What is this thing?"
"A costume beard," she giggled, "and Halloween of course!" She spotted Sesshomaru as he entered, "Oh! I have one for you too!"
His eyes clearly unamused blinked slowly, "This one is not a doll-"
"I'll bring you the yuzu lollipops you like so much," she begged.
He seemed to contemplate for a moment, until he pulled the costume from her, "A bag."
She nodded darting away, back down the well. She was back within the hour, changed into a costume of her own and several bags of goodies. Shippo was already at the well when she made it back, "Mama!"
She handed him a large orange sack with a pumpkin on it, "Now it's not all for you, share with Rin and Kohaku."
He nodded, opening a zippy bag grabbing a bright colored worm. Rin giggled happily, "a worm!"
Shippo opened the bag to the two, the worm still hanging out his mouth.
Sesshomaru reached forward into one of her large totes, pulling his prize. "You've brought too much," he spoke lifting one of the totes carrying a bright orange pumpkin.
She laughed a bit nervous, "I'm just a bit excited, sorry." She finally looked at him, really looked at him, "You make a very handsome Legolas."
His eyes seemed to gleam at the compliment, "Hn, and you a very handsome human."
Her laughter carried heavily with mirth, "Why thank you."

Oh brother (pt 2)
She'd turned around to the sight of bright pinks and yellows. Even more stunned when he placed two large bundles of said bright colors.
Inuyasha, whom was only turned for a moment faced his brother now. However the sight had him sputtering and cackling like a mad man. He wheezed so loudly, that little Rin tugged his sleeve wanting to know what was so funny.
"Lord Inuyasha, what's so funny? I want to know," she giggled at his antics.
"His greatness, Lord Sesshomaru has brought Lady Kagome a thousand of the sweetest buds," Jaken squaked loudly.
By now, Inuyasha was on the brink of tears and red in the face. He had not thought his brother would take what he said so literally.
Seeing the commotion, Shippo rounded his mother. His eyes immediately narrowed, his overprotective nature bubbling up.
Nervously, Kagome's eyes skittered from each of the bouquets. Dear kami, there was so many.
Hearing the continued laughter, Sesshomaru sighed his eyes nearly rolling in his skull.
If not for her, he'd have already had have beat the boy with the bouquet in his arms.
Courting your younger idiotic brother's best friend was the test of all tests.

He'd followed along with the miko, taking the children out to the field. Rin had insisted that he come along, not like he'd let them go alone.
She sat with them on the ground, not at all worried about the grass or dirt. He caught wind of a few humans passing, prompting him to stand closer. Normally, he would not have moved. NORMALLY, he'd have kept his distance. However, when they lingered at the tree line, he felt a weight in his stomach.
Shippo turned, immediately spotting them as Rin wove flowers into Kagome's hair. His eyes narrowed at their gazes, a low growl in his chest.
Kagome's blue eyes turned to him, "Shippo?" She followed his gaze, spotting the men, "Oh, I see. Rin-"
Her thoughts stilled as a large cool hand slid along her cheek, "Should they trek closer kit, you will watch over them in my steed."
He nodded, "What's their problem?" He turned to see Sesshomaru's hand on his mother, his eyes immediately narrowing, "What are you doing?"
Sesshomaru had dropped to a knee at her back, but his golden eyes never broke from the spying eyes. "I think Lord Sesshomaru likes the flowers," Rin chirped. "They smell really nice," she cooed.
His hair cascaded around her as he dipped his head, gently smelling at the crown of her head, "Indeed."
His eyes returned to the men, staring with a heated glare. Shippo knew what this was. Sesshomaru was staking claim. But was he? Were dog demons that different from foxes? Was he really trying to scare off other males from someone who he saw as a potential mate?
Rin's giggles had Kagome gulp thickly. What the actual frick was going on just now?
Doing the bingo card! Woo! Should I roll a dice or something to pick the next one? 🤩💖🎲

Sunburn?
He continued to stare at the lingering humans who thought they were hidden. His eyes narrowed thinly, clearly displeased.
Shippo's eyes scanned the field, briefly connecting to the peeping eyes, "You're being weird."
Sesshomaru's eyes darted to the green eyed kit, "Kit."
"Shippo, it's alright," she spoke sweetly.
He squatted his much larger form, his eyes clearly saying - move.
Shippo huffed, making a face. His small face bunched in an angry pout. Sesshomaru may be a big scary demon, but Kagome was HIS mama, and no one was going to bully him from her. He smirked, his small tooth poking from his lip. If Sesshomaru tried to move him, he'd cry, and his mama would never talk to him again. He was proud. He'd won without lifting a finger.
Sesshomaru, however, was far too intelligent. Who did the kit think he was? Surely Inuyasha may stoop to the kit's level, but he was much older. Much wiser. Much less likely to entertain the kit's need to squabble. He grabbed the kit, settling at Kagome's side and dropping him onto his folded leg into a heap of fluff.
Flowers spilled everywhere in their abrupt motion. The kit simply blinked several times, startled at his action. What just happened?
Rin beamed and bubbled with glee, placing a flower crown atop his head.
Kagome's blue eyes wandered his delicate features, her hand absently rising to his cheek. "Sesshomaru," she began, "Um, you okay? You're kinda- Oh my gosh! You were trying to get us to sit in the shade!" His brow quirked, "Sunburn," she quickly supplied, almost unsure if he'd understand.
Rin tilted her head to see his face, "Your cheeks are pink, my lord!"
His eyes refused to leave hers as her fingers brushed his stripped cheek. Did she know the intimacy of her lingering caress? Did she know how her eyes bore into his skin, setting it on fire?
Shippo nearly shouted, finally snapping from his stupor, "We can't get sunburn!!!"

Shippo looked up at the tall man that had unceremoniously placed him down, "Did you just spit on me?"
Sesshomaru's brow furrowed, "Tch, who do you take me for kit?"
Kagome's head jerked upwards, "I think that was a rain drop."
Not two seconds later, the sky opened up. Kagome quickly leaned over little Rin, "MAMA I THINK IT WAS RAIN!"
The heavy roar of the sudden rain storm muffled her laughing at her boy. She tugged at her shirt desperately, trying to keep the little ones dry as she herded them under the thicker tree line.
Her eyes darted about, heavy with raindrops, "Where's Sesshomaru?!"
This prompted Shippo to come from beneath her, the basket on his head. His eyes spotting the demon easier, "Hey! SESSHOMARU!" He waved his little arm, "Over here!"
He scurried back to Kagome, "Should we wait?"
Shippo shook his tail, "Wait here, Mama."
"Wait, Shippo," but the boy quickly bounded back into the heavy rain.
Quickly running towards the tall silver beacon that was the elder, Sesshomaru. "Sesshomaru," he shouted, "What are you standing here for?!"
He lifted the side of his pelt, the boy quickly clinging to his leg. His gleaming yellow eyes narrow, "The humans."
He peeked up at him, "Forget them! Mama will keep waiting for you- AND ME! So we NEED to find shelter!"
The rain was not going to relent. He dipped quickly, scooping up the boy and tucking him into his large pelt. He found her easily. She was soaked, "Come, a storm approaches." She nodded, glancing over his shoulder when his hand took her elbow, "Quickly."
She walked as quickly as she could, given the odd angle she kept to keep Rin as dry as she could.
He should have stopped her. Taken it upon himself to shelter them. But she continued her silly antics to keep the children in high spirits. Only hearing their laughter and the harsh rain.
She was a good mother.
Did he admire her for that?
Hehehe, just Kagome walking like a duck to protect her lil' chickies. 🦆🐤🐤 and Sesshomaru being like shit that's cute 🫣💕

Storm
The roar of the downpour struck fiercely on the stone of the cave entrance, "Stay here." He entered the cave, golden eyes taking in the cave. Straw was on the floor. However, it had likely been there quite some time.
Thunder boomed loudly, causing the small Rin to shriek. He returned to them, "Is it safe?"
He nodded, Shippo sniffed around, "People have been here before." Again, Sesshomaru nodded, "Is there anywhere mama can get out of her wet clothes?"
He seemed to think for a moment, looking her over. She was soaked. He pulled the tassles of his armor, pulling the large cauldron armor over his head. He took the long obi like bow from his middle tying it up, "Hang your clothing. This one will find something to burn," he removed his haori, placing it across the makeshift line like a curtain.
"How bad did the rain get you, Rin," she asked softly.
"Rin is pretty dry, Lady Kagome!"
Shippo shook his tail and pulled off his small fur. Her pointed gaze had him speak, "My fur kept me pretty dry, Mama."
Just about to round the would-be curtain he eyes met his, "Are you going far?"
"I will not." She nodded satisfied with his words, "Miko." His eyes pointedly shifted to the large pelt he'd set down, "it is dry."
However, when he'd returned, he found Rin wrapped up. His eyes met blue when she peeked around his haori, shifting nervously under his gaze. He built a small fire as Rin came to his side, "My lord?"
"Hm?"
"When Rin gets older," she began, "Rin wants big boobs like Lady Kagome!"
"Rin," she shrieked as Shippo choked on his own spit.
She beamed at him, "Rin." His voice seemed quieter, "That is not within this one's control."
She seemed to think a moment, bounding back over to Kagome, "Lady Kagome!"
"Rin-chan! I can't do that either!"
"Awwww," Rin pouted.
He pulled off his wet inner robe, setting it on a stone facing the fire to dry. He lifted the large pelt rounding the makeshift curtain, a soft gasp quickly escaping her.
Her hands cover her chest, eyes quickly darting away. His eyes briefly catching the boy's fur across her legs, "Rin." He pointed to the side of the straw, prompting her to stand and wait.
He settled by her, setting the pelt around her and across his lap. "Mama," he neatly curled up on her lap, quite the protective little thing.
He opened his arms, head nodding to Rin, who quickly settled onto the fur across his legs. Rin rubbed her small cheek against his wrist, settling.
The warm air, the heavy rain, and low rumbles of thunder quickly had the atmosphere calm. Her head bobbed as she fought sleep but ultimately settled on his shoulder.
His eyes darted to the sleeping woman. She was complimenting his like this. His chest swelled with pride. While it did take her longer, she did fall asleep. Trusting him to keep them safe.
He slowly reached, arm wrapping around the pelt and her pulling her closer. She was warm, and while he would never admit it out loud... she was beautiful.
At least not yet.
