I... I just realized I actually haven't writen anything about that yet. Which is kinda worrying considering I spent the whole last week daydreaming about scenes and plot points and tiny details and scenes in their lives, going over and over them in my head.

Anyways, the Redemption AU (tha name is still in progress) is an AU where Agent 22 is raised as a FOWL agent alongside Black Heron until the past-focused events of "the Confidential caseflies of Agent 22".

They go as partners to win the page. They run away after that and get the SHUSH agent out of their trace. But Scrooge finds their secret lair by accident and interferes with their plans. They capture him and Black Heron insists 22 to just finish him of, but somehow Agent 22 can't do it. Both FOWL agents get into a fight, Heron feeling betrayed that her childhood crush friend partner is turning on her like that. Things end up bad, chaos ensues and the whole lab explodes with Black Heron inside.

Since she wants to know why the hell she felt like she couldn't kill Scrooge plus she needs to get away from FOWL asap if she wants to survive, Agent 22 joins SHUSH as McDuck's partner. In return, they only ask for whatever intel she may have and that the location pin they put on her must be on at all time, so SHUSH can track wherever she goes to make sure she's not still working with FOWL.

But Black Heron is not dead. And when she sees 22, now Bentina Beakley, on tv, after so many years, with Scrooge McDuck's return to adventuring, she knows exactly where her old partner is and that she wants revenge and the formula to the bouncing juice.

Except that, after Heron is defeated, Beakley does save her from falling to the ocean. 22 truly believed that she had been dead all this years and isn't willing to loose her again. So she doesn't give Black Heron to SHUSH and begs Scrooge to let her try to reconnect with her again.

Black Heron is brought into the Manor. Chaos ensues. The triplets have too much fun teasing them, much to Webby's reluctance (she has seen Heron trying to kill her granny for real and that's NOT funny), and there's a lot of sappy moments, injuries, fights with both FOWL and SHUSH, and drama in general. Probably mentions of blood, murder and cursing too.

More or less that's the not so short summary. I'll try to write some headcanons soon ^^

I haven't talked about the au a lot so I'm always extremely surprised and excited when someone remembers about it XD

Whether Heron actually lets 22 save her or makes it more difficult out of spite, well... :)

Okay I'm going to rant a bit and I'll reference one of the most recent eps so keep reading at your own risk

After the First Adventure, I'm pretty sure Redemption AU!Beakley has seen Heron "fall to her death" quite a lot of times. It never gets easier. Every single one had her regret not catching Heron before it was too late for days afterwards. Would she even let 22 save her? Beakley doubts it.

And then SHUSH "wins". No more FOWL. No more Black Heron for good. She never even got to say goodbye but maybe that was for the best.

Except that Heron's actually back, but this time Beakley knows that no matter what she could never live with herself if she let her go again.
