Well see there you go THAT’S why we don’t put black/trans/gay/disabled/etc people on screen because the world isn’t ready for it and the people don’t want it and we don’t make any money off it!
When in reality they are butchering stories, ignoring feedback, overworking and underpaying their employees, and straight up just don’t care about their craft anymore. But at the least they’ll put more thought into a movie like Ralph Breaks the Internet because it’s more of a money opportunity that’ll appeal to nostalgia and that’s all they need.
The live action little mermaid and the live action beauty and the beast and the live action lion king are UGLY. The renaissance movies are based greatly magic and that just can’t be done as well in live action. Or, it CAN, but not without extra work and TLC.
Idk it just feels like the studio and company will jump through so many unnecessary hoops to avoid making actual art that appeals to us and is what we want.
Which is ironic because THAT might be the best way to make their profit. I would sell at least three of my toes for a deaf Disney Princess or a gay Disney Prince or a revival of the Tinker Bell movies and more but nope let’s tell the same story we told forty years ago but this time with less whimsy and more celebrities.
Adam’s baby girl was two months old on his first Father’s Day. He hadn’t even quite realized the day, since Renée still had an awful sleep schedule and they were up rather early tending to her. But some time, mid-morning, Adam was standing on the balcony rocking his daughter. The sky was clear and there was still a chill in the air. Belle came in with a bouquet of flowers.
“Happy Father’s Day, love,” she said, turning him around.
Adam’s face softened into a smile as Belle set the vase of flowers on the little table. “Right, I didn’t even realize.”
Belle smiled, stepping over to him. “Yes, well. They’re from Renée, of course.”
He laughed lightly, looking down at the baby in his arms. “Oh, they’re beautiful, sweetheart, thank you.”
As if on cue, the baby sneezed in her sleep. Her parents laughed and blessed her and Adam kissed her head, so thankful to be that little child’s father.
