Serial killer! Simon Riley x afab!reader | for @softiecakess

Simon opened the door soundlessly, not wanting to wake you up if were asleep, he opened the refrigerator as he sat the strawberry ice cream tub in freezer, his eyes darted towards the doorway when he saw you, your blanket hoisted up like a cape. His smile broke into a grin when you rushed to him, jumping up in his lap and wrapping your legs around his waist, he twirled you around with a kiss in your hair, sniffing the warmth and a scent that screamed, home.

" you're home ! " You kissed his cheek, the skin under his eyes, his nose tip, his chin, the corner of mouth, twinkling as he bumped his nose to yours, warmth spreading and tingling under your skin.

" I am home." He whsipered, bringing your knuckles to his lips as he kissed each with tender and raw affection, you gaze dropped to his hands, his skin was scrapped. You frowned up at him, he exhaled softly.

" Where did you get them ? " You narrowed your eyes as he walked into bedroom, Simon shrugged it off with a hard kiss pressed to your mouth and all your thoughts vanished with the feel of his tongue prying it's way in you, his teeth nibbling softly on your soft lips, urging obscene noises from you. He placed you down on the soft bed with a delicate palm behind your neck, and held you there with his arms pinning your wrist above you head, your mouth arching up for more, more of him and his feel.

" Just a guy, nothing much." He kissed your your jaw as he left the words, trailing your skin, he never left any questions unanswered, never lied.

" Oh." You moaned, " You okay? not hurt— don't get into fights..ah," His hands slid under your shirt, gripping your soft warm flesh, " I don't want to see you hurt.." it came shaky and almost lost when Simon's mouth curved in delight, he pulled your shirt above your head, giving your wrist a break.

" ofcourse princess." He kissed your collarbone, looking deep into your eyes as he lowered his mouth to catch your hardened nipple between his lips, his eyes dazzling as you arched back, panting his name, again and again and again.

_

" Strawberry or chocolate ? " He cocked his lips, watching you with a devouring hunger, hands shuffling in the drawer.

" Strawberry...." You dazed, your cheeks warm and flushed as Simon bent down to kiss your sweaty forehead.

" I knew it babe." He chuckled, like he knew something you didn't.

I follow an author on here who once made a similar post about this issue, and I have fully taken her advice to heart on leaving comments on people's work. If you've got know idea what to say, just literally comment "kudos" if you're on a site like this one that you can use emojis on, you can leave a 👍 or a ❤️. It works and can be fun. I do it

Unpopular Fandom Opinion

Don’t feel guilty if you can’t comment on fics. You are not the shittiest fan on earth and you aren’t tearing the writer’s heart out and stomping on it while you read free fiction without “paying.”

Look I don’t care why you don’t comment. But if you sit there after reading my fic and feel a sense of dread while looking at a blank comment form, then do us both a favor and just hit the kudos button. I want you to be entertained. I want you to walk away smiling or…idk turned on or, really, anything positive. If all you feel is guilt, how is that fun for anyone?

As someone in an extremely small fandom, it feels so good to have anyone comment. Regulars feel even more incredible, because the insight to what bits they liked for each chapter and the validation of someone caring about your art is extraordinary.

Do regular commenters know just how valued they are? I mean, obviously ALL commenters are valued, but as a fic writer when you’ve got a group of familiar usernames and profile pics who pop up again and again like old friends to share their thoughts and appreciation on one of your fics, that’s so special. I hope my regular commenters know that I remember them, and I recognise them each time they come back, and I am so incredibly grateful for them not only leaving comments, but leaving them time and time again. I hope they know they’re making someone, somewhere, smile.

Fanfic Reader Appreciation

I want to give a warm shout-out to all my readers.

Thank you.

Thank you for being here. Thank you for giving my work a chance. Thank you for devoting your time to reading my words, anything from my most convoluted fanfic to my crackiest shitpost. Life is busy, complicated, messy, and unpredictable. There’s a cost-benefit analysis of how you spend your minutes, and I’m honored that you choose to gamble them on my writing. No matter who you are, no matter what the circumstances, I appreciate you from the depths of my heart.

Whether you silently lurk, give kudos, comment, like, reblog, tag, rec, ask/chat, or engage in any other way – I am grateful. You are the coffee to my muse, the song in my soul, the cat in my meme. You give me the strength and the courage to post my ideas, in the hopes that someone – or more than just someone – will enjoy my creation(s).

Sometimes I feel I don’t belong. I feel like I’m intruding into something precious. Fandom is a special kind of special, and I want to honor what it means to so many people. As a writer, I don’t want to get it wrong. Sometimes I think I’m annoying. I think I’m not good enough. I hope my writing and my stories live up to my readers’ expectations, and more often than not I will never know – but I can hope and keep doing my best. I drive myself crazy trying to be perfect for my readers’ sake, and yet there are always problems hiding under problems. Sometimes I get lost in a toxic headspace, caught up in fixating on story statistics and notes, and it takes me several rounds of reflection to remember what’s truly important. I’m human, and it’s a process. But the conclusion I always arrive at is that these stories were posted online for readers to enjoy. At the end of the day, it’s about you. The audience.

And honestly, readers don’t get enough credit.

Sometimes I need to remind myself of that.

There’s a lot of fandom discourse about “comment culture” and validating the writers, but readers deserve their own validation. So readers, this is for you. No matter what steps you take – or don’t take! – to engage with writers and their fanfics/blogs/etc., you’re out there. You’re reading. And you’re appreciated. So, so appreciated.

Again, thank you. For reading, for participating in fandom in whatever way works best for you, and for sharing your fandom space with me. Thank you for sticking by me as I flail and flop. Thank you for putting up with my mistakes and (silently or not) cheering my successes. Thank you for inspiring me to share a piece of myself through a “what-if” AU idea or a witty banter punchline. I might never know who you are, but I know you’re out there. That’s enough. Please accept my eternal gratitude and cyber-hugs. I hope my works touch you, entertain you, mean something to you. I hope you get something out of what I write.

Most of all, I hope I make you smile – like you make me smile.

Read on.
