OC-cember Day 2: The Demonic Blazers and The Blaze Family (Power Rangers OCs)

The Blaze Family are my OCs for the Power Rangers franchise, specifically for the series, though they do show up in the movies (especially in the 2017 reboot movie as different interpitations of L.G. and her friends) and I do plan on having them show up in the comics here and there (once I've read them, that is). They are PR-excusive villains, with the main ones that appear throughout the series are the Blaze group: Luna Gwen (L.G.), Lucy, Frederick (who is called Freddy by his friends), and Eleanora Sayara (E.S.), with L.G.'s older twin siblings Lucifer Rori (L.R.) and Solaris occasionally appearing here and there, and her parents (who at this point in time and as of this post don't have names) who rarely appear due to how busy they are, but they do have their appearances from time to time (whether they be calls or physical appearances in person).

They are essentially the Team Rocket of Power Rangers, with L.G. and her friends essentially being the Team Rocket Trio of PR (Jessie, James, and Meowth; technically L.G. and her friends are a group rather than a trio since there are four of them and not three of them, but I think you get the point of what I'm talking about).

Similarities between The Demonic Blazers and the Team Rocket Trio:

They appear in every season

They are a constant pain in the ass for the heroes outside of other antagonistic forces (Ash and his friends in Team Rocket's case and the Power Rangers in The Blazers case)

They play into the "we're bad guys, but we're not "bad guys" trope, as in while they do work for the bad guys of each season and have no problem helping them with their evil plans and goals (except if they've been betrayed, at which they would have no problem aiding the Rangers in taking them down), they do possess some redeeming qualities (aside from the aforementioned teaming up with the Rangers from time to time), such as loyalty, friendship, empathy, sympathy, and compassion.

Thoughts on Kendall being adopted???

Ngl, up until your vamp!Kendall AU I didn't think to consider the possibility but now that it's been presented I actually can get behind this. Her being adopted probably adds extra angst points to her lore (additional HC that she was adopted solely so they could use her intelligence to serve as a trophy or brownie points for her parents)

Within the vamp!AU I think it would be interesting if her adopted parents were conservative Christians, and that they tried to indoctrinate her into their strict Christian beliefs, since it would add an extra dichotomy between what they believe is "righteous" and "pure" by their religious standards (and what they tried to push onto her by extension) and her eventual vampirism, which is something historically seen as an "unholy disease", and the same could be said for her trying to develop her sexuality/gender identity in a home that highly discourages that way of thinking, especially for girls. Because her parents are adoptive ones, they would probably gaslight her into thinking that she's so lucky to have them when her birth parents were reckless, alcoholic sinners and that they can save her soul as long as she trusts them wholeheartedly (which is textbook emotional abuse).

This could help further cement her rebellious nature against the way she grew up and her being more free in her adulthood and going all out (almost to her detriment) before finally grounding herself and finding a balance that allows her to thrive as a vampire.

I hc that Kendall has been doing different types of fighting training since she was young.

Thoughts?

I'd like to think that G-Ma Betty (aka the MVP) allowed her to do fighting training on the side when she was younger. Going along with my strict Christian parents headcanon, Betty was definitely against how oppressive they were (especially with their beliefs) and saw how much potential Kendall had (both intellectually and as a fighter) and wanted to nurture it. I think since Betty is older and likely grew up in a time where women weren't really allowed to have choices or opportunities or self-expression like in the current time, she wants to make sure Kendall gets that chance.

Luckily, Betty has a close neighbor who actually does do fighting training for a living, and after understanding Kendall's situation, they offer to train her for free. Under the pretense of hanging out or Bible study, Kendall is often sent to Betty's house on weekends and summers, and she becomes adept at many different fighting styles. Also, unlike her parents, who taught her to constantly be quieter and trivialize her own feelings so she doesn't "cause a scene", they actually taught her the healthier alternative of staying still and thinking things through, always being cautious, calm and clearheaded while still encouraging her to express herself as well as her aptitude towards physical and intellectual pursuits.

Kendall was already incredibly attractive but when she put on the glasses WITH the cupid outfit on...good lord i love women i heart women i'm so down bad for her it's not even funny

Especially when she would start leaning down during the interrogations and Claire's acting gradually became more hammy (without being overbearing or OOC for Kendall), that little sway she does when she corrects Chase regarding her name, and calls Shelby out on being nervous right before her interrogation.....shit I would start sweating too I'd be too distracted to focus on the questions

Kendall + Chase have a sibling bond

Kendall and Chase are literally just me and my younger brother so I'm absolutely down for this. The fact that they've been around one another the longest is like how siblings usually have each other around first before they branch out and meet others, and no matter how antonymic their personalities are (and how much they may bicker as a result), they always have each other's backs at the end of the day and deeply care for one another. Since Chase is an eldest child himself, I believe he imagines Kendall as the older sibling figure he wishes he & Chloe could've relied upon growing up. Kendall/Chase siblingism is so real tbh

watching 'edge of extinction' is so funny because i'm equal parts excited that heckyl came back to save kendall (shipping heart going crazy rn) and highly irritated that kendall doesn't even get to be involved in the greenzilla megazord fight and barely gets to do a solo fight since becoming a ranger

like god forbid kendall ever have a solo fight or ever get solo focus on anything or ever get involved in the main fights
