You ever just go, “Welp, this is my addiction now,” about a fandom from your childhood? Same.
You ever just go, “Ah, my emotional support character from when I was twelve! I have missed you!” Same.
I just watched the Core Short. I had to and I am sorry.
This is why I like to think Zane doesn’t leave his humor switch on.
If I had a nickel for every show I watched with a self sacrificing robotic character with just all of the trauma, then I’d have three nickels.
Which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it’s happened thrice.
When the others say stuff like, “I think your honesty circuits need adjusting,” it upsets Zane greatly. Even if it’s just a joke, it makes him feel like the others see him as nothing besides a machine that can be altered and changed when he does something they don’t like. It feels like a reminder that he is one memory wipe from a tyrant or can be reprogrammed at any time to hurt those he cares about.
(And maybe even reminds him of when Dr. Julien used to alter him to be the ‘perfect’ son.)

Ok, so I have a few hundred fanfictions I have planned out for a ton of different fandoms and I have no idea which one I should write, so I'm putting it out of my hands.
I'll give the title and the fandom and everyone and anyone else can decide what I write. Includes rewrites of my current fanfiction on Ao3 that I don't like anymore. I'm only doing one story for each fandom on this pole but I'll make a deal where I post one chapter a week and when I finish I will post another poll for a different story. Okay, I've rambled enough and I need to stop or I'll just keep procrastinating. I will start writing when the poll ends. So here:

Imma be real with you guys, I think Lloyd is gonna be a great father when he has a kid one day.
He'd be one of those parents who hover over their children, constantly telling them how much he loves them and that no matter what he's always gonna be by their side. You know, because trauma!
He's in a constant fear that he's gonna be like his father one day; That he's gonna leave his kid to fend for themself in a world that's out to get them.
This fear keeps growing and eventually spills over when his kid accidentally hurts themself.
He finally takes the cue to go and actually fucking talk with someone about his emotions and to talk to his teammates.
Oh, and he would also give candy to his kid. Because he would, don't fight me on this.
(Also, Kai tears up every time he sees Lloyd and his kid because this is the man HE raised, the little gremlin who was stealing candy yesterday. Nya is patting his brother on the back and wiping a tear in the corner of her eye. Jay is full-on sobbing every time he holds Lloyd's kid, Cole is standing behind him, watching him like a hawk so Jay doesn't accidentally drop the poor baby. (He and Kai have battled over who is the best uncle. (Spoiler: it's Zane. )) And Zane is shaking his head and making food for everyone.)
OK we all agree that misako is a shit parent
BUT
Wu ain't that much better than her. This man lets his nephew stay in a school for future gang members and criminals, even though he has the full authority to take him back.
And after getting him back, he puts him in multiple dangerous situations with the other ninjas.
This is not a misako-defending post, I have thoughts on her too. She literally abandoned her kid at said school and decided to fuck off to who the hell knows where and study ancient scrolls. And not ONCE did she think about checking up on her goddamn SON.
Legit, the only semi-decent parental figure Lloyd has is the dude destined to bring doom and destruction wherever he goes.
Said dude risked his life to save his son, literally DIED, and perhaps the only person Lloyd genuinely could look up to.
Come to think of it, lord Garmadon is one of THE best parents in the show. The other being Ed and Edna.
Kai and Nya's parents were kidnapped by a fucking dude, Dr.Julien got down and dirty with death a little after Zane's creation and Cole's dad is a neglectful asshole. Jay is the only one with loving parents.
The bar is so low it's in the realm of the departed, yet they STILL manage to trip over it and dig even deeper.
No wonder these kids are the way they are, I would have ended up in an asylum after the first two traumatic events.
OK headcanon that Lloyd gets a lot more dragon characteristics than people expect.
Like this man is insanely protective over arin and sora, he downright growls at people when they even look at them the wrong way.
He has this weird sense of parenthood toward these kids, sometimes subconsciously referring to them as 'his hatchlings' in his head, before snapping back to reality and becoming an embarrassed puddle of dragon goo as he registers his own thoughts.
He has wings, bc I said so, and he uses them to shield people under them, "them" being the little shits he adopted along the way.
He runs warmer than the average 6 and is literally a goddamn living heater. There was a poll between the others on the fact that between Kai and Lloyd, who is the better cuddle spot.
Sometimes during his panic attacks, he reverts to basic dragon instincts. He once saw Arin and Sora and started freaking out at their lack of draconic features. Because oh my FSM why don't my hatchlings have wings are u ok are u dying-
Arin and Sora are amused.
And it doesn't stop on the kids either, the rest of the ninjas suffer too. Lloyd wakes up Kai by plopping down on him in the morning, purring and telling him to get the hell up-
He has bitten Jay's ankle before, no you will not get an explanation. (It was his fault.)
Lloyd regularly rubs his face against the kids and other ninjas, kinda like a claim. He got extremely frustrated when his scent wouldn't remain on Zane. Zane was sad he couldn't help :(

how do you think zane would react if someone said the term slay to him.
like i can totally imagine an interaction where sora says something like "haha slay zane" and he just looks back horrified and goes "what why would i slay someone? i would never do that, why ever would you think that of course i wouldnt do anything like that" and sora just looks over at lloyd in complete confusion and he whispers back "ill explain later."
stupid thing i just realized but like. the temperature in ninjago was probably like summer/spring temps at the end of s11. zane had been in the never realm for 60+ years. bro was probably defrosting like mariah carey 💀
