"Overture"

(Before you read this, this is my first fanfic so expect a bit of bad writing here and there. This is one of many parts of this fanfic, which will establish the main plot of the story in a way and what I want to do with the story. This part of the fic revolves around Splatoon since I find it a little fitting to start the fic here and that I like these silly little squids XP. Enjoy!!)

Alterna; a large futuristic facility underneath the Splatlands containing all sorts of human history from long ago. Once a history vault filled with history considered ancient to inkling and octoling culture (Which nobody would be able to find on their own), is now the hideout of the New Squidbeak Splatoon and members of the force, Agents 1 and 2 (The Squid Sisters, Callie and Marie), and their Captain had already called some friends to share a fascinating discovery...

"Marie, can you believe this?? I can't WAIT to show everyone else!" Callie said, being the more hyper Squid Sister.

Marie sighs, not being as excited as her cousin. "Well, if by 'everyone else' you mean the people we can actually trust, then yeah. I can hardly wait..", she says as a response to Callie's energetic nature. "I still can't believe a simple discovery got you this hyped up."

"A SIMPLE discovery!? Marie, this is the discovery of a lifetime!!", she said, seeming a little offended at her cousin's words.

"Callie...I'm gonna be honest with you, I'd say I'm pretty excited myself, but you're not seeing me bouncing off the walls about it, aren't you?"

Callie's enthusiasm didn't seem to decline one bit. "Come on, Marie. The least you can do is get more PUMPED about this! Right, Captain?" The Captain of the New Squidbeak Splatoon nodded in agreement, despite being extremely calm and silent about the matter.

Some time has passed since Callie and Marie told some people they know about this discovery. Callie's enthusiasm didn't seem to wear off, while Marie had no means of waiting any longer.

"They aren't coming, Callie. We should just go home...like I wanted to.."

"But, Marie! We should at least wait a little while longer! All my texts to them had a whole bunch of details that made it look like they HAD to check this out!"

Marie grumbles in annoyance "Oh, so yet again, it's my fault that my texts are 'undetailed' and 'boring'? What a surprise.", her voice dripping with sarcasm. "We should just regroup tomorrow and-"

"AYO! YOU COULD'VE AT LEAST GIVEN US MORE INSTRUCTIONS!"

An inkling, who was Pearl Houzuki, one half of another famous Inkopolis duo, Off The Hook, came by with an octoling which she and her partner Marina named Eight. "You didn't tell us that this place was UNDERGROUND!", Pearl yelled.

Marie looked at Callie with a smirk. "Who has the undetailed text messages now, huh?"

"..You didn't even tell them where to find us either!"

"...Fair point."

"Okay, okay, enough talk. Which one of you is gonna lead the way?", Pearl chimed in while walking towards them.

“Oh, yay!! I’ll be happy to-” “Slow down there, Cal. I should lead the way. You might get us all lost.” Marie says after interrupting her cousin and moving her aside.

Callie retaliates to this little remark; “Heh. Says the girl who never had a job as a tour guide. I remember where we found it, I swear! I can get us all there just fine. Easy!”

Before the two cousins could bicker any further, the Captain got up from their resting place and began to lead the way.

“...Well, it doesn't matter, anyway. We have to follow the Captain now.”

Everyone then arrived at many different multi-colored portals in Alterna, each leading to a new and different unknown world.

“We’re here!! See? Isn't it just AMAZING!?” Callie said, not even trying to stay calm in the slightest. 

Pearl however, was very confused at this sight. “It’s just a bunch of colored portals?”

“I know! Cool, huh?”

Eight looked fascinated at the portals. VERY fascinated. She couldn’t help but wonder what each portal contained, all of them having unique features that she had yet to discover.

Marie began to speak again, “Well, one day we just found them here while Agent 3 was going through Alterna and reported them to us.” It’s true that nobody in the New Squidbeak Splatoon knew about the existence of these portals before or where they came from, but the thing that mattered was that they were there, and no one knew what to do with them.

Pearl then sees how interested Eight was with the portals. “Ayo, Eight. Whaddya say we check one of these things out?”

Eight looked at Pearl. They knew these portals might be dangerous. They KNEW the possible consequences of simply hopping into one, but they nodded eagerly, clearly excited to find out what was to come.

“Marie, look! I forgot how colorful and pretty they were! They even look more pretty everytime I look at them!”

“...Hm…okay..they ARE pretty cool.”

“Yay!!”

The Squid Sisters continued to talk together, while the Captain realized something: Eight and Pearl were gone. They first figured that they entered one of the portals, but they didn’t know which one, so that meant they had to take a random guess.

The Captain proceed to just drag the girls into a portal with them. 

“...Times like this i wish that the Captain actually LIKED to talk…”

…Meanwhile, 3 mysterious masked figures watching above had seen everything and actually knew all about the portals. 

“...Hm. These new worlds could be new banditing mines for us…”

“Yeah..We can make all kinds of loot! We’ll steal it from right under their noses!”

“Ay! Ay… (Yeah! But, it still might be dangerous…)”

“...Oh well. We’re still going in at least one of them.”

Okay!! Hope you liked this! Again, this first part establishes the plot of the overall fic and gives an idea of what will probably happen with other fics I'll write when all of this is done. More to come, but it'll take some time.

Splatoon!

I just kinda wanted to show off my takes on the New Squidbeak Splatoon. Nothing more, nothing less.

Hi! Im solkteaa, solane, solk or whatever you'd like to call me. I don't really use tumblr so im gonna need a minute to get used to this format

I draw and sometimes write splatoon fanfiction or short stories though I'm not great at it. I'm probably going to be more active during the summer, so I'll update when I can!

Hello! I saw in one of your posts you were wanting headcanons, so here's some of mine :]

Pearl x Marina-

Not much of a headcanon, since it is somewhat cannon but Pearl and Marina are so gay for each other they always are thinking about each other and with any chance they get, they will talk about the other, this mostly applies to Pearl. I also think that Pearl would totally think she is the "one with the pants" in the relationship, but shes really just a big ol simp for Marina and will do anything for her

Agent 8-

I have a headcanon of them being mute, since in game they dont talk anyways, I also headcannon them having a kinda shyish personality

Captain 3/Agent 3-

They have grown cold and have PTSD from everything they've seen. When they first became an agent in splatoon 1 they always dreamt of being Captain, but after everything they've experienced they don't feel the joy of helping others that they used to feel when they were younger

[This took so long bc of school, it's literally the first week and I'm already being slapped in the face with piles of work. I also rushed this as well when I worked on it especially at the end, it's definitely not my best work. I used the captain headcannon for tgis btw]

Sometimes the people forget the Captain joined the New Squidbreak Splatoon when they where a child. At times Captain wonders if they even one hundred percent consented in the first place. Cuttlefish did basically just point at them and say "you're Agent 3 of the Squidbreak Splatoon, you have to save the Great Zapfish. Try not to die, kid!"

Agent 3 was sat on the ground criss cross, as they listened to whatever this old man had to say. They really did just zone out mid way when after he pointed out that all they were doing was saving the Zapfish. Three figured it was like turf war, it was easy enough. What's the point of listening?

Worse mistake ever.

"Not too bad, kid."

Agent 3 had made it through the kettle unscathed so far, besides stepping in octarian ink a few times. A burning sensation, shot through their shoulder, sickly magenta ink connecting with the suit's armor. Getting hit with ink didn't cause pain? In turf wars it was a dull thud at most. Getting splatted was fast and painless, you couldn't feel anything but slight annoyance.

Agent 3 shifted into squid form, (more like fell to the ground and pathetically coward in their ink) and snuck around to hide behind a box to nurse their injury.

"Agent 3? You alright?" Cuttlefish'e voice crackled through the headset. Three let out a grunt and nodded, could he even see them nod?, "Be careful, I would hate for you to be splatted on your first mission."

The pain faded fast but it was a rude awake up call that this wasn't Turf War. This wasn't where the worse punishment you can get is your rank lowering or angry teammates yelling at you.

Eventually they gained enough confidence to continue on. The rest of the kettle goes on with shots grazing their body, or narrowly avoiding getting splatted. Three felt a bit dazed as they staggered back with the Mini Zapfish in their hand.

The moment Agent 3 spotted Captain Cuttlefish again. "Why did it hurt? It's not like that in Turf War."

"You weren't listening, were you?" Agent 3 shook their head with a nervous grin, knowing that he was probably disappointed.

He cleared his throat before beginning, "weapons like the Hero Shot or octotrooper vehicles-" Cuttlefish pointed to the gun in Agent 3's hand with his cane, "don't have the same safety limits as the ones back in Inkopolis. Weapons in turf are for inking, the ones that you have is for powering through enemies with higher pressure and bigger damage. They are made for actual war."

Agent 3 look down at the Hero Shot in their hands, well that explained a lot. "So getting splatted is extra painful here?" Agent 3 was hoping Captain Cuttlefish would reassure them that everything would be fine. He did not.

"Octo Valley, even with the Great Zapfish, barely has enough energy. To get troops and checkpoints running it takes lots of juice. Our own respawns are even harder to wire up without the Great Zapfish."

His expression suddenly dimmed, "Three, if you get splatted three times in a kettle. It's over. You die and there's no bringing you back."

"oh."

"But I'm sure you'll be fine! Just don't get splatted!" Captain Cuttlefish pats Agent 3 on the shoulder to reassure them, though it was a little too late now. The warmth of the Mini Zapfish in their hands did nothing to warm the feeling of cold fear in their heart, nor did the Captain's words of 'encouragement.'

After that Agent 3 experience as an agent wasn't as bad as they thought it would be. Muscle memory and habits built in the kettles transfered to turf. Eventually, Agent 3 started to take pride in their role of the New Squidbreak Splatoon. If it wasn't for the fact the NSBS was supposed to be a secret to the public, they'd probably be rubbing it in everyone's face about now. It's the fact that they were contributing to something so much bigger than them that they loved so much about the job. I mean- imagine being the captain one day- that's a even bigger deal! Before this they were was just a pathetic wannabe Dj with decent turf skills, now they're actually doing something with their life! (Unlike their hygiene.)

But then deep sea metro happened. For some reason, something switched. They weren't exactly outgoing but they were definitely more playful. Now it was like they were more mellowed out. Everyone noticed, at first they thought maybe they were just maturing, but then they started talking less and less. Not to mention, they started becoming less passionate about being an agent.

Eventually Craig had to retire, I mean, he was over a hundred years old. The role would've naturally gone to Agent 1 or 2 but they had they're careers as the Squid Sisters to worry about already. Agent 3 was second with the most experience. Honestly, they would've probably declined if it wasn't for the fact they were the best fitted for the job. They probably wasn't the best choice anyways as in they didn't have the same spark as they used to, but someone had to do it.

They kinda wish they would've stuck to music. Honestly the whole 'being a agent is the best' thing was probably because they were young and loved adrenaline, but when your 23 and spent majority of your teen years saving the world from people or AI that wants to destroy the world, you get tired of it. Three just didn't find joy in the work anymore.

Hopefully the new agent doesn't end up like them, as well.

Hi!!! Before I leave any type of request I am just curious, who do you write for? Plus any rules I should be aware of ?

I don't have many rules when it comes to request, mainly just basic stuff like don't ask for weird stuff. (Ex: !nc€st, l0ilcon, ect.)

I don't do nsfw because, 1. I'm a minor and 2. I'm shit at writing it, but I will do suggestive or implied nsfw.

Another thing is just be patient. I take a lot of breaks and I'm not really on social media a lot, so I'll see it when I see it🤷‍♀️ I might put some request on hold, if I do then I'll make a post with which ones are on hold and will probably pin it.

I do write for in game character as well as Coroika characters. No splatsvile characters. I don't trust myself to not mischaracterize them yet/don't know enough about them😭

For splatband characters it rlly depends who, so ask and if i respond I'll do that character.

Last thing, I'm bad at writing Octavio and cuttlefish, so because of this I'm probably not going to take Cuttletavio or x readers. If it's like [_] as ur father or personality quirks I might do it.

Edit: Feel like I really need to mention this, please, be specific, especially when it comes to headcannons. Do not just say [character] x reader and not give a headcannon or a scenario. I need something to build on. Please at least try to give me something to work with.

Second edit: Just so you know if I don't like the idea then I won't do it. Sorry, it's just impossible for me to focus on writing something that I think will be boring🥲. thank you!

So my idea was like being Marie’s s/o ( so a x reader story ) that behaves like an old person as in hobby’s and such. This is like kinda based on the comment Callie makes on Marie’s hair…

Being Marie's S/O, but she has old lady habits.

[Author's note; I literally forgot about this, sorry!1!!! I didn't know how to put this into a story, so instead enjoy the head cannons]

Grrr I love doing these they're so fun

MARIE, who has one of those small beaded coin pouches

She used to collect these pouches and shows them off to you, but now she learned how to make them and even made you one!

She has one for coins and one for those little candies most grandmother always had.

She mainly keeps those strawberry ones and butterscotch ones.

She munches on them before concerts.

MARIE, who has all this money and could get a fancy, brand new Bugatti if she wanted but instead has a 2011 Volkswagen that she refuses to get rid of.

When you first saw her car it caught you off guard. I mean, she's definitely pretty wealthy but it doese make since she's not pretty materialistic, given her personality. Though you'd think she'd at least get a newer model.

When you asked her about why she hasn't gotten a new car yet, she felt judged.

"If you have a problem with my 2011 Volkswagen named Beatrice, you can get out and walk."

Don't judge her car she will fight you over it.

MARIE, who sits on the patio with her little "Fish in the area wants me" mug in her hands every morning.

It's her own little ritual she does.

Every now and then she'll ask you to sit with her, which is a honor as usually she doesn't want anyone to bother her or near her when she does this.

MARIE, who bakes

this originally started because growing up she would make cakes for her parents for their birthdays. To perfect her recipes she would bake everyday until it was were she liked it.

Now it's became a habit.

Considering your her S/O, she'll randomly bake for you.

It's not too rare for you to come home and there will be a fresh batch of cupcakes or brownies waiting for you!

She'll also pull you out of whatever your doing just to taste test for her.

"Marie, I'm in the middle of a turf battl-"

"I don't care, I need you the try this icing."

Just make sure your home when she's experimenting.

MARIE, who gardens in her freetime.

she's always had a green thumb for plants, but I'd like to think the one thing she can't keep alive is orchids.

It's just simply to hard not to overwater them, or give them too much sunlight.

Worse part, they're her favorite flower.

Don't give her orchids, she'll cry.

MARIE, also has a garden in her backyard and plants out through her house.

Her worse fear is being on tour for a month or more and coming back and her plants are dead.

So she begs you to check up on them for her!

Just keep in mind, you kill her plants, she'll kill you.

You swear she gives more love too her goddamn flowers than you at times, but as long as she's happy!!

MARIE, who's bedtime is strictly 7pm.

if she stays up any longer she's a moody and slightly clingy mess.

MARIE, who crochets.

She has many quilts and sweaters she's made.

She would make some custom just for you, but that's too much effort so instead she let's you have some of the ones she already made.

She's also tried sowing.

She kept on poking her fingers over and over again and had enough.

It looked like a murder scene and she'd went through a whole pack of bandaids.

So much for those expensive ass fabrics she bought to make you something.

Never again.
