Naka Kon 2014 - Tumblr Posts
You don't let the lolita run out of booze. Bad things happen. It's like feeding a gremlin after midnight.

Bronies have made the internet unsafe for both children and perverts.

Tomorrow, if you get attacked by a clown in a business suit, don't worry. It's just me.

Damn it, big fish, you're such an ass!

I got to spend this weekend at Naka Kon with Fontscosplay and ratherthansleeping. IT. WAS. AMAZING.
I got to hang out with both of them and saw a couple people I don't normally have the chance to see, met so many awesome new people, saw awesome cosplayers, and actually got compliments on my Sailor Hawkeye (first costume I have ever done from scratch; I was proud of myself for managing to make and finish it, but I wasn't feeling too confident about how it turned out--especially once I saw some of the other cosplayers around there!). People were so nice!
I saw Destrose on Friday night (totally worth nearly losing both my hearing and my voice), which was the only thing of note I really did on Friday, aside from frantically trying to finish sewing things onto my costume because I hadn't managed to finish before I had to leave for the con.
I spent almost all day Saturday in costume. I didn't hit most of the panels I had planned on; one apparently pulled out at the last minute and I changed my mind about a couple others. I actually didn't attend any panels on Saturday; I was with Font and/or ratherthansleeping most of the day and wandered the dealer's room on my own for a little while.
A bunch of us hung out in our room for a while that evening (which is where most of the quotes I posted came from; I would say that's what happens when we drink, but three of us are like that when we're sober, so yeah...the alcohol just made me more of a klutz).
Sunday was panel day for me; I hit three of them with Font. This morning also came with some interesting little stories. All three of us had panels we wanted to get to before checking out of the hotel at noon. We thought we gave ourselves enough time to get ready, pack the last few things, and get everything out to the car before 10 (when Font and I wanted to hit the first panel)...we almost didn't. We had to leave a few things for Font and I to get after the panel.
We had not looked outside that morning, so when we got to the elevators it was the first time we saw the weather. What we saw was not happy. It had sleeted at some point and it was clearly very cold out. None of us had coats; they were in the car at the far end of the parking lot because the previous two days had been so nice. We were also all three wearing shoes with little to no traction. So a lolita, Belial, and a girl in a t-shirt and mini-skirt/legging combo (I didn't cosplay today) got to slip-slide across the parking lot in biting cold wind to Font's car, dragging heavy suitcases.
After the panel, Font and I ran back up to grab the last of our stuff (my go-bag/costume/supply bag and wig box, the big cooler Font brought, and a couple of ratherthansleeping's smaller bags and her giant stuffed alpaca) and headed down to check out. Turned out getting an elevator from the 16th floor was not so easy as we thought it would be. We ended up waiting nearly a quarter of an hour. It got to the point where we were pushing it so close to checking out by noon that Font said she might have to take the stairs down.
I told her if she did to abandon the cooler with me, take the alpaca, and go! It all turned pretty over-dramatic; I only told her to take the alpaca so I'd have a hand free to take the cooler when I finally got an elevator XD. We did finally manage to get on an elevator, check out, and get the stuff out to the car, without Font having to save herself and the alpaca first.
I'm both sad it's over and glad to be home. I had a fantastic time, but it was definitely tiring. I'm already excited for my next con, though :D
I'll be posting pictures I took, and if anyone has any of me as Sailor Hawkeye, I would love to see them! (I was so surprised and happy anyone wanted my picture).

Another set of the pictures I took; again, if you know who any of the uncredited are, let me know so I can credit them. They all looked magnificent.
The photo of Font and ratherthansleeping was taken right after we discovered that it had sleeted at some point before we woke up, while we waited for an elevator to make its way to our floor.
