"A gay man was here. November 13th" " Whether ignored or invisible, social minorities exist in Japan. Through this project, I hope to create change by bringing these people to light. I use my own presence to represent the existence of other gay men in my community. At the same time, I wonder about invisible others: the hidden poor and homeless, trans people, etc. I invite anyone else to speak out about the qualities that make them and others like them different and ignored. If you want to lend your voice to this project, send me a message with an idea how. International participants are welcome. I can send you a custom PDF or mail you a cut stencil for you to use. Stand up and tell people that you are here.

Dark times all around but there are still people out there who love you

Do not hurt yourself, do not hurt others, get help, talk to someone, anyone. Humanity has survived before and we can do it now if we all just support each other. My country and my people let me down and endangered my life but there’s nothing I or anyone else can do about that so let’s try to spread the love that is so clearly lacking.

Casual reminder that just cause your queer/trans, doesn't mean you can't be transphobic and/or queerphobic.

I've seen some queer people that are transphobic. I've seen some trans people who are queerphobic.

In general, some people who are minorities go after other people who are also minorities.

Personally I believe minorities should ban together over our oppression, and help eachother fight for rights. It would help the all of us.

I hate how minorities emotions are blow way out of the water.

like, "oh your a minority experiencing anger, a normal human emotion, JESUS YOU DANGEROUS MONSTER!"

Like I'm not hurting anyone I'm just upset at the way I get treated and the hurtles I must jump over to hopefully be happy one day

So This Is How Someone Responded To My Post Above. So Im Gonna "cry Like A Little Bitch" By Responding

so this is how someone responded to my post above. so im gonna "cry like a little bitch" by responding to it in the calmest manner i can.

for one, "too obsessed with theatrics" -says the person typing in all caps, and saying i should commit murder

for two, if i did commit such a crime, the minorities im apart of (queer, trans) would be in danger since people think that we're all of the same mind.

*trigger warning for some trauma*

also I have, as I said in the comments, experienced real anger and emotions. I was abused as a child by my parents and others. A person who I loved deeply committed suicide because of hatred. And other things that I shall not say here. However I am aware of my anger and control/manage it, so I do not become abusive. Uncontrolled anger causes abusers, uncontrolled anger causes murder.

Tw: police brutality, anti-minority, hatecrimes

Anti-minority people: *makes fun of minorities for not liking anti-minority jokes*

Minorities: oh damn man, your right! Lemme just get hatecrimed for no reason, shall I? Or would you rather me get beaten to death by a cop who is a bit biased and/or having a bad day? Wow, lookit how privileged and temperamental I am haha (/s)!

(some minority people do like anti-minority jokes as long as it's not actually harmful and/or it is sarcastic or it is hyperbolic, however some minority people do not like these jokes. Therefore, I urge you to pay attention to timing, the people you're around, and choose your word choices carefully to not hurt someone.)

"I only make offensive jokes/say slurs with my friends so its ok."

not really. look at it this way,

when I was a teen, my dad would beat me if he caught me saying swears. however I was able to say swears around my friends cause they didn't care. but lo and behold, I slipped up in front of my dad once, even though I was damned scared of him. it just happened involuntarily.

point is, you will eventually slip up in public. and when that happens, people will assume you're a racist/ queerphobe/ transphobe/ misogynist. why? cause its safer for them to assume that and stay the fuck away, than hang around since people are dumbfucks that want to kill over what others cannot change.

This- this is SO true

important!!!

transcript:

A person with a somewhat masculine voice says in a higher pitched tone, “Blue hair is weird!” They then change their voice to their regular tone, and say, “I’m gonna teach you this how I would teach a child. I don’t know your life story, but for the sake of making this an educational video, I’m gonna use stereotypes, so only take what resonates with you.

One child is born in a seemingly functional, to their awareness, loving family, while the other is getting quite the opposite. You can’t choose that you’re born with it, so you’re put out in this world and the majority of your peers are like you, and the majority of your teachers, parents and authority are like you, and the majority of the media out there is showing people like you. So all of the kids that are not depicted by this media feel erased and different immediately from the time they’re born, how they are born. You may feel too feminine as a boy, too masculine as a girl, like you’re in the wrong body, like you don’t think exactly neurotypically as everyone else, you’re too thin, you’re too thick, you’re too dark, you’re not dark enough. Kids like this immediately understand the struggle of not being accepted by the majority, and if it’s not the peers doing it, keep in mind they have the same authority and media only depicting the majority of one type of person.

So both the outcasts and the masses are gonna ask the same question of how do I fit into society, and the majority of the authority and media is gonna be saying things like “God is the answer,” “man marries woman,” “girls are this way, boys this way.” You have a set amount of rules that if you have no reason to question, you’re not gonna disagree with. But when this world has taught you it’s not for people like you, you’re gonna ask, “why is it that way?” which brings us to, “who is teaching us this?” Oh, people from this era or earlier, who’s making this stuff, people in this era or earlier, “Let me do my research on who taught them that stuff.”

A common flaw with human beings is that they accept societal norms that are only in place for a little bit over their lifetime because they never lived to see a reason to question it. When you are born in a world that’s seemingly against you, you have reason to research why these traditions are in place, and you say, “Wow, if I happened to be born in the 1900s, pink was for boys and blue was for girls, and cheerleading is for boys and heels are for men, and the bible was changed to be anti-gay”. It’s almost like what we are taught is unreliable and not inherently factual, and in the time this was being taught, no one in the masses was disagreeing.

Everyone’s born in a box, but we weren’t all born with default settings, so we learned that humans can express themselves however they want. The way you think that only natural hair colors is normal, or how you dress is the right way, or blue hair automatically makes you weird, or pronouns equals liberal, that is taught to you. If this existed in the 1900s, this would be awesome [he points at blue hair], and this would just be english language [he points at pronouns]. When you’re wildly accepted by the masses, I see why you wouldn’t want to step down, you’re at the top of the pyramid. But the reason that we dye our hair blue is that the only people that wildly accepted us are other people who weren’t afraid of being different.

Now listen, maybe you just like authentically being a part of the masses, maybe your true self likes this stuff, that’s fine. But you also have to acknowledge that you were taught to avoid anything that would get you bullied or a negative reaction by the masses. So therefore, who’s really the top of the pyramid? [He flips the pyramid drawing upside-down].”

End transcript.

Me: Thinks a negative thing about someone else

Someone on the internet: "Thinking this negative thing about someone else is mean and prejudiced"

Me: "Oh okay, I'll correct my thought process whenever/if that idea appears in my head again"

It's that easy.

It's THAT easy.

I will not let there be silence.

How loud must we yell to be heard?

How deranged must my shouts be for someone to hear me?

How petulant? How annoying? How never ending must I be so that I can find a like minded person?

How long must I scream that- this is me! This is what I believe! This is what's right- and here's why!

Because I will do it.

Until my voice is hoarse and weak.

I will not give up.

I refuse to give into the silence.

I will fill it with noise and love.

I will drown out the anger the confusion others express. I will fill it with facts and experience. I will express every ounce of what has gone unvoiced, unknown for so long. For too long.

Until I hear the same words echoed back from the masses.

Until the stars hear my cries and answer them.

Not just until I am heard- but until I am understood.

Until we are understood.

I will not let there be silence.
