like just imagine how that would feel. the only person you could so much as a call a guardian has your memories dug through not once but twice, in two different visibly triggering rituals. you find out one of your only friends is dead that way while he gets to find out his real sister is alive. he gets to save her and now you're living with a girl who has more of a connection to him than you could ever hope to have. and then you barely have time to process that before your "mentor" is kicking you out and to rub salt in the wound he does it by doing exactly what your dead abusive dad did to you the last time you ever saw him alive. oh and then your only other packmate also dies. then even after you find your footing with your new friends and the boy you've seemingly devoted yourself to because he actually treats you like a person you still can't shake some of that old loyalty to the guy who flipped your life on its head. and then you have to watch that same guy give up his powers for his sister, the same powers that he manipulated you and your old packmates to gain, the same powers he never would've given up for you, and you can't even be mad at him because yeah she's his sister. she's his family and even though when you looked at him in the right light you thought he could've been that to you, you know that's not true and that it never was.
something something isaac lahey losing his older brother as a kid and derek hale also losing his siblings, older and younger. isaac staying loyal to derek long past the point that he probably should've only to ultimately be kicked out by derek very shortly after derek got his actual younger sister back, after directly using isaac as a tool to find her. the show trying to imply that isaac was romantically interested in cora but doing such a half assed job at it that it's both possible and objectively more interesting to interpret his curiosity about her as some kind of jealousy. is this anything?
Too true. I have long referred to my muse as a freight train because it is Like That. I'm never expecting it, it comes at incredible speeds, and really, it's my own fault for not getting off of the tracks that entertainment leaves in my mind. From pinching his cheeks to kissing all over his face to squeezing every part of him you can get your shrimpy hands on, Floyd never gets sick of you loving on him. He revels in it, embracing your love with a sharp toothed smile and a shrill giggle that sends shivers down the spines of everyone but the three most important people in his life.
Heāll jam his face towards you at any given moment and flash you one of his playful smiles, the one he knows will get you squealing and cooing and pinching his cheeks. He actively seeks out your attention, grabbing it from anyone else who may be in your general vicinity with a smug grin on his face.
This is a headcanon Iāve had for a while, but Floyd loves being referred to as little. Itās just so silly! Heās giant in and out of the water, with a muscular physique made for cutting through the ocean and snatching up fish, every feature made to be a predator, and yet here you are!
You coddle him and squish him, repeating over and over just how cute he is, whenever he laughs or tries something new or gets just a little grumpy. His shrill voice teasing you for being so affectionate only earns more praise from you.
Azul will find a way to maximize your ābabyingā of Floyd, mark my words. Youāll be brought into the lounge if it looks like heās running out of steam or getting agitated, just so you can see him doing whatever and get all worked up about it.
Jade thinks it's amusing, to be honest. Especially when you coo and call his brother little. He knows it's not condescending, but he may pretend to be offended just to get a reaction out of you. Too bad for him, you know his game by now!
Floyd would adore a partner like this, someone so openly affectionate with him and proud to be around him. It would keep him on his toes and the praise would go straight to his head, what more could he want?

Pelantās ending was so unsatisfactory and not even from a āhe deserved moreā thing, the ending was lame whether you like white boy or not. I understand it was so he died human, something he swore he wasnāt, but it couldāve been done SO much better.
Bonesā ending as a WHOLE wouldāve been better if that happened. Pelants delusions shouldāve been the end of him (even if they sort of were? he thought Brennan would protect him).
SPEAKING OF. I wouldnāt be HALF as pissed with him being in love with Brennan if that arc wouldāve gone on for longer. It wouldāve fleshed out is character and honestly wouldāve made him more unlikeable!!!
this is literally coming from the top Pelant blog. I wouldāve LOVED to see this man be broken down to the point he realizes he isnāt a god. i wouldāve loved to see him drive himself to the point of madness after being an egotistical dick for the other seasons.
The Gravedigger is an excellent example. Her ending was abrupt, but it felt right. Because it was dramatic and it clearly had an impact. Yeah, Pelant had the whole next government arc as a result of his existence but it felt like his death meant nothing.
Booth and Brennan walk away like it was nothing and then get engaged?? and then he isnāt mentioned nearly as much as he shouldāve been??
Taffet had the emotional toll on Sweets and Caroline, the mystery of who killed her, and the whole āBrennan as her skull spinning around like a Christmas treeā part, but Pelants ending felt stale and like it was an excuse to be done with it.
This really makes me think something happened behind the scene to make it this bad (ae: Zacks arc being a result of the writers strike). Bones had great ending to serial killers (literally all of their deaths were dramatic and meant something) but Pelants last episode I canāt even watch atp itās just so bad š

I just finished s9 ep 4, the last bit of Pelant's story and I can't help but feel... disappointed. They were clearly leading up to something with Pelant wanting Brennan to be his endgame, and then we had Booth save the day.
And it's not that I'm mad about. That was sweet and all but I verbally out loud was yelling at my T.V. because this felt so underwhelming.
While I understand we were seeing more and more that Pelant wasn't who he thought he was, it felt SO cheap that Booth was able to just shoot him right there.
I think he could've had more story. We could've seen his downfall as he gave into delusions more. It was SO clear with the bone swapping and the whole plot of this episode that he could've ran off with Bones!!! I'm so upset that honestly he didn't run off.
I'm gonna use another longterm character. The Gravedigger.
She was also shot, but when SHE was killed I felt satisfied. That felt right in the story. Pelant being shot and killed did NOT. I'm so upset truly that it ended here.
It would've felt much more narratively satisfying to see Pelant running with Brennan thinking he WON, and slowly seeing him descend into madness and getting more sloppy, than Booth just shooting him and ending it here.
