okok gruesome episode, i have some theories
I think that the OIAR using an extremely outdated system to record and classify strange occurrences is similar to the reason Jon and Gertrude used tape recorders. maybe the horrors in the tmagp universe cause interferences in modern technology
alternatively: Lena knows about Jon, Martin, and Jonah being present as entities in the OIAR systems. maybe they provide some sort of protection over it? what with Jon and Jonah being avatars of the Eye, maybe they're just fulfilling exactly what they did in tma.
also, if the case loads that the protocol gang get include instances of the OIAR using its.. “externals”, then how many of the statements we've seen were caused directly by them? we know Mr Bonzo is an external. and it's seeming more and more likely that Ink5oul and Needles are externals too
uhh.....did Lena's line feel familiar to anyone else?
I LOVE the implication that Lena has seen the Horrors tm when she tells Gwen that she doesnt have what it takes to climb this particular ladder. I love that Lena might understand these terrors better than she understands how badly Gwen wants that job. and god I hope she breaks the second she sees the real Entities outside of her books because Lena was right, she isn't Gwendolyn Magnus, she's just Gwendolyn Bouchard
LENA IS A MARRIED WOMAN?!?
So it occurred to me this morning that Lena might be unable to feel fear. The only place where we hear sound at all afraid (and even there it might be sadness mixed with frustration) is in the video Gwen uses to blackmail her.
Places I can think of where you would expect someone to be afraid, and Lena very definitely wasn't (probably not exhaustive) :
Finding out an employee is attacking equipment with a hammer, and might have injured another employee.
Finding out an employee was attacked by the external she sent her to recruit (Gwen was very definitely afraid; Lena, uh, nope)
Dressing down Gwen for bringing Lady Mowbray into the OIAR. Lena sounds angry, but not afraid.
When an employee tries to blackmail her with a (failed) snuff tape.
Honestly, it would make sense that they'd want someone immune to fear in charge of the OIAR.

My friend imagines Lena as one of those villains you just never see the face of, like any time she’s on camera her face is obscured by shadow or out of frame, and idk I just like that. It fits her whole ominous boss gig. Might steal it. His description for Gwen made her sound like Barbie in a suit tho lol and that’s great.
Now that someone has made me think about Lena x Freddy I now need to make a name for it gosh dang it.
I’m getting tired of trying to come up with original ones.
This is how I shall draw Lena Kelly in the future. My friend said he interpreted her as a sort of faceless villain. One that’s always in shadow so you never really see their face. I like it so I stole it. Hence shadow man Lena

fr3d1 headcanons?
This is going to be very long so here’s a cut
Ok so. In my mind, he’s a sentient little goober. He said screw the ‘robots can’t feel love’ trope, and proceeded to fall in love with everyone in the OIAR. Anyway he has absolutely no idea what he’s doing at any given time but he knows the following: fear tastes good, I love everyone here, and mischief is fun. As such, he enjoys freaking people out a bit, and causing a bit of mayhem here and there. He’ll give people talkers at very inconvenient times, trip people with his wires, and generally be a nuisance. All in good fun of course. Since he loves the people at the OIAR, if they were to ask him sincerely to stop doing something, he would infact listen, however, no one has don’t that yet.
When no one is in the office he plays computer games on himself, like solitare, snake, minesweeper, ect. Cool Math Games is his best friend when it comes to satisfying his boredom in day hours. Other things he does other than computer games, is doing things he knows will annoy Colin, like rearranging wires in the server room.
One time he tried to download a virus on himself to see what would happen and decided that it was not in-fact a fun thing. Since colin was the one who fixed it, Freddy took that like someone taking care of you when you when you’re sick in bed. Because of this, Freddy is most keen to try to flirt with Colin. Attempts at doing so thus far have not been successful.
On the other hand there’s Alice, who regularly flirts with Freddy in a haha joking way (or atleast that’s what she’s telling herself for now) and even though she isn’t doing it seriously, it’s still highly effective on Freddy. And not just that, but whenever shes the only one working, and she’s slacking off, she’ll infodump her interests towards Freddy. So those are the reasons he loves her so far.
Sam has this odd thing he started doing out of habit about a week after working at the OIAR. Atleast once a week he’ll find some sort of trinket, and leave it on top of his desk monitor. The trinkets range from pennies from off the ground to cool rocks he found. Every time he does this, the next day it’s gone. Sam thinks it’s one of the other OIAR employees taking them, but little does he know that it’s Fr3-d1 and FR3-d1 cherishes each and every one of these little offerings, storing them in a drawer somewhere in the server room.
Nothing for Celia yet. Haven’t really thought about it much, and she hasn’t been here long enough to have much association with Freddy other than knowing the origin of the voices.
Lena and Freddy have a long history. They actively talk to eachother, and have a sort of situationship going on. Maybe they try to like, jumpscare eachother or something. Lena was his first kiss but it was literally the most awkward thing ever so they have never brought it up again, only vaguely alluding to it as ‘The Incident’.
Like Celia I haven’t really thought about Gwen much in terms of Freddy, but I imagine Freddy likes to scare her the most out of everyone. My basis for this is him giving her a bonzo casement right after a traumatic experience with bonzo.
Anyway now for the logistics of my Freddy design.
So, Freddy can move wires and stuff around because they are a part of him, so he takes advantage of this fact to form a vaguely humanoid shape. A lot of the non wire pieces were either gifts from Lena, Sam, Klaus, or are just random pieces he found lying around that no one was using. He only really does this around Lena as he wants to try to actually make contact with the others without it first.
Fr3-d1 and the OIAR office employees should kiss. I don’t make the rules.

often i find myself thinking "maybe my interpretation of lena kelley is a bit too self-indulgent. maybe it's not accurate to the canon at all" and then a new episode drops and literally proves me correct yet again. many such cases
i’d be frustrated too if i had to deal with All Of That tbh
Gwen is a good character but god she must be annoying to work with and manage
ok fine enough straight marriage jokes. you get one (1) serious mach post about gwen and lena. as a treat.
imagine how frustrating all of this is from lena's perspective. she's watching someone else go through what she went through, and she's trying to be the person she never had, telling her that she can stop, that she can quit- but no. gwen wants more. gwen doesn't want to quit. and gwen blames lena for what she's going through. despite having asked for it, and refusing to quit herself.
you guys know how insane i am about lena kelley. she's traumatized. she's desensitized. she's logical and pragmatic in a distinctly insane and tragic way.
but just. imagine how fucking frustrated she is, also.
