You were running.
The forest floor is rough, full of fallen leaves and twigs. Multiple cuts and bruises decorated your bare feet, yet you kept running, as though you could not feel the pain.
There was a sudden howl and you tripped over a thick branch, crashing towards the ground. Your face distorted to a silent scream, trying to pick yourself back up, but the strength in your body was long gone.
You were hungry. You were cold. You were hurt. You were tired.
A twig snapped somewhere. You turned your head to the sound of the noise, shaking in fear. Placing your palm on the forest floor, you dragged yourself backwards, biting hard on your lower lip to keep yourself from making more noises.
Your back hit something hard. You froze entirely as something slithered on your arm, hissing as it did so. A pair of pale hands appeared in your field of vision, covering your eyes. The owner of the hands forced your head back as something wrapped themselves around your exposed throat, hissing contently. You felt imprisioned, trapped. Another pair of hands took yours and you feel something soft and warm pressing on the back of your hand.
"My Star…" The one behind you whispered, his sweet voice sending goosebump rising along your skin. "Where are you trying to go, my Star?"
You couldn't move. You felt trapped, suffocated. You felt as though the air had turned concrete. There was another hiss, and the thing that had wrapped itself around your neck is slowly unravel itself, slithering down your arm.
A snake.
"Our Star…" A different voice cooed dangerously close to your ear, his fingers trailing against your cheek. "You know you can't run, don't you?" Something wet licked your earlobe and you flinched, trying to get away from him. Your body tensed up, feeling a different presence. Another snake slithered up your legs, towards the second man next to you. "We won't let you go, our Star…"
You gasped, sitting up. A naseous feeling rise quickly in you. Putting your hand to your mouth, you quickly rushed out of your tent, running over to the nearest bush, retching.
"It's a dream, Y/n…" You muttered to yourself, heaving another dry retch as you try to calm yourself down. The rubied bracelet on your wrist dangled as you wiped the cold sweat off your forehead, your other hand patting the front of your chest. "Just a dream…" You tried to convince yourself, your voice shaky.
"Your Highness?" You turned. John stood behind you, a cloak in his arms. He approached you, carefully fastening to cloak around you. "It's chilly." He said, taking a step back away from you when he was done. Your trembling fingers reached out and grabbed his arms, fear suddenly getting a hold of you. "Wait!"
John stared. You let go of his arm, muttering an apology. "I apologize… But could you just, watch over me as I sleep?" You plead.
Other than your brothers, John was the only one who ever gave you a sense of security. You don't know why, but you just trusts him. The magician hesistated, before giving a curt nod. He accompanied you back to your tent, tuck you into the sheets and sat down beside you.
"I will cast a sleeping spell, your Highness." John's voice was soft. You feel his hand hovering above your closed lids, and a strange but relaxing feeling spreaded across your body. You slowly relaxed, allowing your mind to slip off into the darkness.

Mist.
"Today is the day we meet the Star you and Seonghwa speak so highly of, Brother." Wooyoung grinned cheekily as Seonghwa hold him down to adjust his uniform. "I'm really looking forwards to it." He wriggled his brows, making Seonghwa frown. He gripped Wooyoung's chin tightly, his gloved hand tidying up the Prince's hair.
Hongjoong gave a side glance to his brother. "I expect you to behave, Wooyoung. She's not a toy." He said. Seonghwa, satisfied with Wooyoung's current look, finally let go of him. "It's all done, your Highness." He announced, taking his rightful place behind Hongjoong. Wooyoung thanked him with a huge smile, turning his attention to the castle grounds below. "I know that, hyung. You're really so naggy… And you should tell that to San instead of me." Wooyoung pouted.
Hongjoong had appointed San as one of the guards who will protect your brother and you at your time in Mist, and the younger has left earlier this morning to welcome you. Hongjoong rubbed the old silk ribbon between his fingers, following Wooyoung's gaze. "Do you think she knows it by now?"
"The marraige request?" Seonghwa answered. Wooyoung's head whipped towards him, his eyes wide in disbelief. "The what?" He screeched, earning himself a glare from Seonghwa. Ignoring the older's gaze, he moved nearer to Hongjoong. "A marraige request? You want to marry her?"
Hongjoong ignored him, speaking as though he had not heard Wooyoung. "She has to accept that." His voice was light, but his tone was commanding. "She can only marry me. She can only belong to us."
"'Us'?" Wooyoung repeated, looking from Seonghwa to Hongjoong. "Brother is going to share with Seonghwa?" He questioned, suddenly excited. He pushed his face towards Seonghwa, bright with excitment. "That means Brother might share with the rest of us?"
Wooyoung is always loyal to Hongjoong. His mother had been Hongjoong's mother's maid, but was forced to join the Mist King's harem after a night where the King had been drunk. After the night, she had knelt in front of Hongjoong's mother, begging for forgiveness. But the Queen knew that she had not wanted this in the first place, and was forced by the King to serve him. She allowed Wooyoung's mother to continue serve her and had protected her from other concubines when she was pregnant. When Wooyoung was born, his mother immediately gave Wooyoung to the Queen.
The things that Hongjoong and Seonghwa couldn't do? Wooyoung was on it. He was also the one who brought Yeosang and San, the both of them now serving Hongjoong. To reward their loyalty, the Crown Prince announced that they could share whatever they desired with him, except for his throne and power.
"Hwa likes her." Hongjoong said simply. Wooyoung reached for his brother's hand and placed it on his cheek, pouting prettily.
"So if I like her, will you share with me, too?"
![[player 1117] 0005 The Bunny In The Trap](https://64.media.tumblr.com/45fbce68b8e9da63969d58050d750099/38fb1ab38b5c6d96-0a/s500x750/876d5d957169d95a336eed129b777b93ec4e273d.png)
"Here we are." Soobin said, holding your hand tightly as he guided you down the carraige. A man wearing a black armour approached, bowing his head. "Mist welcomes the Moon and Star of Eternity. I am General San, assigned by Prince Hongjoong to be your guide for your stay."
The speaker raised his head and your breath hitched. Your brother inclined his head to Choi San, who turned to look at you. You stared at him blankly, your insides screaming.
How can Choi San be so good-looking?
The feline-looking man had slick black hair, toned muscles and a dimpled smile. You feel a tug on your sleeve, and heat rushed to your face as you curtised back. "Please to meet you, General San."
"The pleasure is mine." If possible, San's smile became even wider. You looked down onto the ground, willing the heat in your face to go away. Gosh, you must have looked so stupid, gaping at San like that.
"Now if you follow m- Jongho?" You looked up. San was staring at someone behind you, his expression shocked. You turned to see John, who refused to look up. "What are you doing here?"
You blinked, confused by the turn of events.
Jongho?
The Jongho?
No, John could not be the Jongho you were thinking of, could he?
"My brother said that it's time for him to return to his kingdom." Soobin said, looking from Jongho to San. "My sister saved him in the streets of Eternity seven months ago."
You felt betrayed. John- no, Jongho inclined his head to you. "My apologies, your Highness." He said, still refusing to meet your eyes. San gave Soobin a deep bow. "Thank you, your Highness... Jongho! Come here!" He hissed as the younger walked over to him.
You don't know what to feel at the moment. You have been living with the last and mysterious male interest of the Otome game, for seven long months.
But it isn't your fault. Everytime Jongho appears in the game, he was always wearing a mask, only revealing his eyes. And he rarely appeared too, disappearing from most important chapters. The only time you ever see him was when San mentioned that he had a younger brother studying as a magician.
"I hope my brother did not cause much trouble, your Highness." San's voice was serious. When it comes to Jongho, San is furiously protective of him. Soobin waved his hand dismissively, patting your hand. "It was Y/n, General."
San looked at you. To your surprise, he kneeled down on one knee, taking the back of your hand and pressing his lips to it. The biggest honour a knight could ever give. "Thank you, Star." He said softly as your face heated up again. You waved your hand, looking at Soobin for help. "It-it's nothing! I didn't know John- Jongho-nim is your bro-"
"Jongho, your highness." Jongho corrected you. He met your eyes, his chocolate ones boring into your light hazel ones. "I do apologize for keeping this from you. The Sun has requested this."
You looked to Soobin for comfirmation and he nodded. San got up, sending a glare to his brother as he turned to Soobin. "Pardon me, your Highnesses. Now, if you would follow me, I shall lead you to where you would stay."

Nightfall.
You patted your purple gown nervously, the bracelet Hongjoong had given you dangling on your bare skin. Dressed in a similar purple suit, Soobin adjusted his amethyst cuff-links, looking at his reflection in the mirror. "Have you decided on it?"
You froze slightly, looking up. Soobin turned his head back, his light brown eyes boring into yours. "The request."
"I...don't know." You replied truthfully. It's not that you don't like Hongjoong, but you definitely have no romantic feelings for him. "Brother, I only remember him as a playmate."
"Then if he want to marry my little Star, he should court you." Soobin walked over to you, gently caressing your hair. "Eternity's Star deserve all good in the world."
Tears sprang to your eyes at his words. You smile as Soobin beamed fondly at you. "The ball is starting soon, General San would be here soon." He removed his hand from your hair, giving you a once-over. "My little sister is so beautiful. I wonder who would be the lucky one to have you as his wife." He sighed.
You laughed. "I wonder which lucky lady would have you for a husband, Brother." You said cheekily. Soobin grinned. "And which unlucky one would have the Eclipse of Eternity as their husband." He snickered. You slapped gently at his arm. "Don't poke fun at Beomgyu, he is going to throw a fit if he hears that."
Even though your tone was serious, the smile on your face told Soobin another story. "You agree with me, Y/n."
Someone knocked on the door, interrupting your conversation with Soobin. San entered, looking devilishly handsome. Dressed in a black suit with a corset on his waist, San stood proud and tall, his feline features highlighted by his slicked dark purple hair. As he bowed in greeting, your eyes landed on the person behind him and widened.
Jongho raised his head, his dark eyes meeting yours. He looked different. His hazel hair that usually fall in front of his eyes were combed back, falling to the sides of his head. He was wearing a similar black suit as San, except that he was wearing a detailed vest with a silver chain and a red ruby brooch dangling on his chest pocket.
He looked nothing like the stray magician you've known for the past seven months.
Jongho feels more like... a noble. He looks like a predator from the wild, one that has locked in on their prey.
And you are his prey.
"Greetings to the Moon and Star of Eternity. If you would follow me, I will escort the both of you to the ball along with my brother." San spoke as Soobin inclined his head in consent. You stared at Jongho, finally snapping back to reality when Soobin gently nudged at your side. You flushed, embarrassed.
The corner of Jongho's lips curled, and San, who had turned his head just in time, witnessed it. His eyes travelled thoughtfully back to you, whose pretty face was now blushing pink. Warning Jongho to behave with his narrowed eyes, San lead you and Soobin through the hallways and corridors of the castle to the ball.
Like in Eternity, Jongho walked behind you. You could feel his intense eyes on your back every time you took a step, and you tried to resist the urge to turn back to look at him.
On the other hand, Jongho's eyes were indeed on you. He always knew that you were beautiful, but it was his first time seeing you like this.
At the magician tower, his teacher once told him of a story where a magician was in love with a woman in his village. He would write love letters and compose poems for her. He would perform little magic just for her. When the woman had died due to an accident, that magician was so devastated that he gave up his own immortality to be with her.
Jongho didn't understand back then. He thought that it was ridiculous and sappy. Why would anyone do such cringe worthy things for another?
But now he understood.
Is this the so-called 'love' Teacher mentioned?
Strangely, it does not disgust Jongho like he thought it would.
When he was laid dying on the streets of Eternity, he thought he would be gone for. He failed Hongjoong, he failed San.
But you came. Like the first rays of sunlight to the dark sky, you found him. Saved him.
Jongho has heard of the Star of Eternity during the years of his travels. Strangely enough, there were two sides of rumours about her. The first rumour was that she was a spoilt and haughty princess, bratty and rotten. The second, however, reveals that she is a kind and beautiful princess.
Evidently, you are the second.
So Jongho stayed. When the Yeonjun had summoned him, Jongho immediately revealed his identity to them. Why would the Sun of Eternity keep him away when Jongho is the heir to the Magician Tower? If such a strong and talented person could protect his sister, what reason would Yeonjun give to let Jongho go?
Beomgyu had argued that Jongho is the youngest son of the famous War General in Mist. But so what? Mist and Eternity are on a good relationship and Mist never attacks Eternity on their conquering quests.
Mingi had asked why Hongjoong consider Eternity as a place to conquer. Eternity is rich in animals and nature, including precious minerals like amethyst.
Hongjoong's answer was always you.
Jongho's eyes fell on the bracelet on your wrist. Does he know what it is? Yes, he does. He even strengthened the magic on it. But no, he would never warn you what it is. Jongho wants you, but he knows Hongjoong wants you as well. So did Hwa.
But he didn't mind sharing. If it means to have you...
Jongho would do anything.
![[player 1117] 0006star In Mist](https://64.media.tumblr.com/45fbce68b8e9da63969d58050d750099/1e5d195e39cc9026-77/s500x750/a2000f231f53bf83493e4ccc548f08078db45c30.png)
Hongjoong sat upon his throne, his eyes sweeping across the vast ballroom. Near him, Wooyoung yawned, slumping on his throne. "This is so boring. Why do we even celebrate this when that old man isn't even here?"
"We must uphold the traditions our ancestors have set, Prince Wooyoung." Seonghwa spoke from behind Hongjoong. Wooyoung stuck his tongue out at him, looking at the crowd below the banisters. "And San isn't here yet... Boring."
Hongjoong crossed his legs comfortably. "Wooyoung. Stop whining." He warned, although his voice contained a certain fondness for his younger half-brother. Wooyoung pouted. "Joongie..."
"The Royals of Eternity has arrived!"
As if on cue, the door of the ballroom opened. Without realising, Hongjoong held his breath, his eyes on the group that just entered the room. Seonghwa's lips clipped together tightly, bearing his nervousness with composure. Wooyoung craned his neck for a better look, quickly spotting you.
“Is that the Star?” He whispered, before letting out a gasp. “Jongie! He’s back!” He stood up in excitement.
Normally, Seonghwa would have chided him for his behaviour, but his mind was occupied with you. You've grown up safely, looking more and more like the figure in his dreams. He scanned you slowly, his heart racing as San approaches the throne.
"Your Highness." San kneeled, as Jongho did the same from the back. Soobin bowed with a hand on his chest, while you curtised. Hongjoong put a hand up. "You may rise. Greetings to the Moon and... Star, of Eternity."
Hongjoong could not keep his eyes off you. You look older. Your body was clad in the finest purple gown, with decorations of silver on you. As you nervously put your hand in front of you, Hongjoong saw the bracelet upon your pale skin.
"Thank you for inviting us, your Highness." Soobin said. You carefully looked up to the throne, only to see Hongjoong smiling at you.
"You are very much welcome here, Prince Soobin. And Princess Y/n." Hongjoong added, his voice softer as he spoke your name.
Hongjoong was looking like Hongjoong in Utopia: Flaming red hair parted to the sides, the rubies hanging on his ear and those intense, fierce eyes. Seonghwa had his long hair held up by a single red ruby hair pin, his corset similar to San's but in red. And then...
Your eyes met the male next to Hongjoong's throne. He raised a brow at you, before his features flexed into a friendly grin. He had raven hair, pouty lips and a mole under his eye.
You know who this is.
Jung Wooyoung.
The younger half-brother of Hongjoong. One that was neutral towards the original Y/n, like San. He would get into trouble many times, yet Hongjoong always forgives him.
A real spoilt brat. That’s what many players call him.
"Thank you, your Highness." You removed your gaze from Wooyoung and lowered your head. Hongjoong’s voice spoke from above. "I hope that you will enjoy the ball."
Soobin bowed once more and left with you next to him. Jongho made to follow, but San grabbed his arm, warning him with his eyes. "You, come with me."
Exchanging a look with Wooyoung from above, San headed off towards the exit. Jongho nodded his head at Hongjoong and Seonghwa in greeting, before turning his body and following his brother.
Wooyoung scowled. "That nasty brat. And I was actually worried about him." He complained, getting up from his throne and hurried off after the two before Hongjoong could dismiss him. Seonghwa shook his head.
"The brat calling another child brat." The attendant commented, earning a chuckle from Hongjoong. "Just leave him be, Hwa." He said, his eyes still on you. "I suppose they have a lot to gossip about."
Hongjoong leaned backwards, his hand reaching to his wrist. "She's beautiful, isn't she, Hwa?" He sighed. "Finally, our little Star in Mist…"
"D’you think she’ll stay?" Seonghwa questioned. You were now chatting with your brother as you sipped on some punch. Hongjoong shifted in his throne, red flashing in his eyes.
"Oh, Hwa." He said. "She will."

I think the clone who appears with Seonghwa might be Jiwon, or maybe it's her doing some kind of black magic to make a yn clone🧐🤔
Or it is Seonghwa who made the clone, So the clone will come back to Eternity with Soobin👀

You never really liked balls.
Your own debutante was simple and brief. You rarely attended the parties of the nobility. When you had eaten your fourth éclair of the evening, you couldn't help but retire to the cosiness of the guest room.
"Y/n?" Soobin called. You look up and see him pointing at the doors. "Why don't you go for a little walk in the garden? I know you don't like this kind of event." He suggested. Your eyes light up and you give him a grateful smile. "Thank you, Brother."
You slip through the doors of the hall and stroll towards the garden, admiring the decorations along the corridors of the Mist Palace. Elements of obsidian and rubies could be seen in the marble columns and floor, adorned with the finest gold. Red roses bloomed in the garden. A beautiful carved statue of an angel was enthroned on a white marbled fountain surrounded by white lilies. You walked past the entrance to the hedge maze and sat down at the edge of the fountain.
You took off your heels and massaged them from behind. The cool breeze blew gently past you and you closed your eyes.
The night is quiet.
Until you heard voices.
"...Me here, Yunho-nim." You tense at the name. The voice came from the hedge maze. "The ball is marvellous. Thank you."
"You should thank Priest Kang, Miss Lee." A soft and gentle voice replied. "After all, he was the one who asked me to bring you here."
You bit your lip. Should you have listened to this conversation?
But you were curious. Is this the Yunho you were thinking of? The Jeong Yunho? You hold both your shoes by the straps and make your way to the other side of the hedge to hear better.
"Oh." The female voice sounded a little dejected. "I see... I must have caused you a lot of inconvenience, didn't I, Yunho-nim?"
"It would be better if you let San help you in the future, Miss Lee..." "Why don't you call me by my name, Yunho-nim?" You shuffle and put your hand over your mouth to avoid making any more noise. "I've told you many times that you can just call me Jiwon."
"I really like you, Yunho-nim!" Jiwon's voice was full of sadness. You could almost picture her face from the game as she continued to speak.
"And I don't, Miss Lee Jiwon."
You blinked. Yunho doesn't like Jiwon?
But in the Otome game, Yunho was the first one to join Jiwon's harem. He was even the one who introduced San and Wooyoung to Jiwon, which leads to the rest of the story. But as you eavesdrop behind the walls of the hedge maze, Yunho's words continue to shock you.
"Normally, I wouldn't have allowed myself to interact with a commoner like you, but Priest Kang was determined, Miss Lee." Yunho's voice was full of malice. "I took pity on you, Miss Lee. Without the temple's protection, you're nothing more than a silly little girl with an empty head above."
Your jaw dropped. Did these words really come from Yunho himself?
"I understand." Jiwon sounded like she is on the verge of tears. "I apologise for bothering you. I'll take my leave." She said before you saw a blonde figure run out of the maze. You stared after her, unsure of what to do next.
"I know you're listening. Come out." You hear Yunho say. You freeze and take a step back. Without warning, you hit your heel against a stray branch and fell backwards onto the ground with a soft cry. Tears welled up in your eyes as you massaged your palm, which was riddled with numbing pain.
A shadow loomed over you and you lifted your head out. Yunho stood before you, dressed in a dark green suit that matched his mint-coloured hair. You stared up at him anxiously, oblivious to the pain in your palm. "I'm..."
Yunho stares at you. Goosebumps crawl over your skin as you try to straighten up, but a sudden pain shoots through your ankle and you fall back to the floor.
You must have looked very pathetic in right now.
"You're the Star." This was not a question, but a statement. A hand appeared in your field of vision. Yunho offered you a hand. You looked back at him to see yourself reflecting in his brown eyes.
Yunho looked exactly like him in the game, except that there was no familiar gentle smile on his face. Instead, it was replaced by a calculative look, one that made you squirm uncomfortably.
"Where are my manners?" The tense atmosphere was gone as Yunho broke the silence, his aura relaxing. You watched as he got down on one knee, reaching a hand out to you. "My apologies, my Star." My name is Jeong Yunho, and may peace be ever in your grace."
You do not know what to make of it. Yunho's aura had changed drastically, as though the Yunho mere seconds ago was just a figment of your imagination. You put your hand on his cautiously, watching him press his lips to the back of your hand. "I apologise for eavesdropping on you and that lady, Lord Jeong-"
"Please, call me Yunho." Yunho flashed a smile at you, the gentle, soft smile. You were dazed by his beauty for a moment, before blinking back to reality. "Yu-Yunho..."
"What were you doing here alone in the garden, my Star?" Yunho questioned, his eyes flashing green once as he put a hand on your shoulder. You relaxed at his touch, your mind strangely fuzzy. "I came out for a breather..."
"I see... My Star, would you like to go somewhere else to rest?" Yunho whispered as you nodded dazedly, leaning into his touch.

"I am not a child anymore, hyung."
Jongho was frustrated. The conversation had been going on for three days and Jongho is tired of arguing with San. "Please just drop it already. "
"He's right, San. Jongho can think for himself." Yeosang spoke from the couch. Jongho shot him a look of gratitude, while San rolled his eyes. "I know he can, but not once- Never once did he send me a letter of message to tell me that he's safe. I've been worried sick in Mist, and you have been spending your time with the Star?"
"Who?" Mingi looked up curiously. He had been struggling with the bowtie that Seonghwa had wrestled him into. "You were with the Star?"
"He was serving her!" San erupted, pointing a finger at Jongho. Mingi looked shocked, his eyes turning round and white. "Serving her? Like, an attendant?" He repeated. Jongho pressed his lips together, frowning at San.
"I have already apologized. Besides, the Eclipse was wary of my intentions-" "What's going on? I could hear you from the door."
The four of them looked towards the entrance. Wooyoung strolled in casually, heading straight towards Jongho. "And no one bothered to tell me that Jongie is back-" "Please, Woo, it's not the time for that." San interrupted, cutting off the prince. Mingi greeted Wooyoung with a slide nod of his head, scratching the back of his hair. "Wait, so Jongho was serving the Star?"
"She saved my life, what was I supposed to do?" Jongho burst out, advancing on San. "I was dying, hyung. If she hadn't found me in that alleyway-"
"What do you mean by that?" Yeosang pulled Jongho's arm, his voice serious. "Who attacked you?"
"I do not know." Jongho sat down on the couch. "In Illusion, when I took the artefact, it activated some kind of guardian... And it was too powerful for me to fight it. I managed to escape to Eternity. It has some kind of magic around it, a spell that weakens my magic."
Silence fell. San slumped a little and sighed. "And you didn't tell me yesterday?"
"How was I supposed to tell you?" Jongho shot back. He glared up at San through his hair, his voice tired. "You were lecturing me all day."
Mingi put a hand on San's shoulder. "Alright, let's stop fighting. If Seonghwa hyung comes in and sees the two of you like that, he wouldn't be happy."
"Speaking of Seonghwa, where is Yunho?" Wooyoung looked around. "Shouldn't he be here?"
"He went to escort that commoner." Yeosang answered, settling down next to Jongho. Mingi tugged at San's sleeve, getting him to sit down too. "Under the orders of the Temple."
"Well, if the so-called 'Saintness' fancied our Yu-yu..." Wooyoung dragged his voice teasingly, while Yeosang rolled his eyes. "The temple cannot force him, even if his family serves them, Wooyoung." He reminded.
Yunho's family served as the Messenger for the Temple in Mist. The current Mist King is a firm believer of the Temple while Hongjoong does not trust the Temple at all. However, to become the next King, he must gain support from them.
And after Hongjoong ascends the throne...
"If you ask me, I don't believe that commoner is the Saintness." Mingi snorted, crossing his arms. "If she's the Saintness, Yeosang would be a God." Yeosang rolled his eyes at his words.
The door swung open. All five looked towards the entrance as Yunho strolled in, leading you by the hand. Jongho stood straight back up, recognising the spell that you were under. "Your Highness?"
"Greetings to the Star of Eternity." San greeted quickly. You stared blankly at him, unmoving. Jongho scowled. A silver seal appeared in front of your forehead, lifting the enchantment spell on you. Rationality returned to you as you looked around you. "What...?"
"Your Highness!" Jongho waved his hand and the seal disappeared. He ran towards you, grabbing your wrists pulled you towards him. "Are you alright? What are you doing here?"
"Greetings to the Star of Eternity, may peace be ever in your grace." Wooyoung squeezed himself right in front of you, while Yeosang and Mingi followed him. You took a step back, overwhelmed by the scene in front of you.
What is going on? How did you come here? Why are the rest of the male interests all standing right in front of you, except for Hongjoong and Seonghwa?
However, your body reacted before your brain could. "Greetings to Prince Wooyoung of Mist. May peace be ever in your grace..." Your voice trailed off, meeting the eyes of a certain silver haired male. "Greetings to..." Song Mingi?
You stared, mouth opened. Song Mingi was indeed standing behind Wooyoung and San. Like in the game, he has short silver hair, a gentle looking face and big broad shoulders. He was tall, a little shorter than Yunho, but still manages to tower over those in front of him.
And that blonde...
He was exactly like what you saw in the game. A beautifully sculptured face, with only a slight blemish over his left eye. You remember some other players saying that the gods in Utopia must have known the power of Kang Yeosang's beauty, so the slight birthmark over his left eye was to counter that. Yeosang's blonde hair was wavy, falling to his eyes and ears as he, Mingi and San bowed towards you.
"Greetings to the Star of Eternity, may peace be ever in your grace."
His voice... The voice actor for 'Yeosang' in the game sounded younger, but the real Yeosang's voice was deeper, older. You feel the heat creep to your cheeks as you curtised back to them. "G-greetings to- ouch!"
You fell towards the side, but Jongho caught you in time. Tears swell in your eyes as a terrible pain shoot through your ankle; you must have accidentally sprained it when you were backing away from Yunho. Without warning, Jongho hooked his arm under your knees and neck before carrying you up. You let out a squeal, your arms immediately going around his neck to secure yourself. "Jong-"
"Were you hurt, your Highness?" Jongho did not give you a chance to speak. Gently, he placed you on the couch he was previously sitting on. You reached for your ankle, grimancing. "My ankle hurts... I must have sprained it..."
A light blue seal appeared over your ankle. Jongho turned back to see Yeosang raising a brow at him, hiding his arm behind his back. San looked at them, his expression thoughtful.
On the other hand, you watched in awe as the light blue seal disappear from your ankle. The pain was gone. "I-I... Thank you..." You muttered.
It was then you realised that you were surrounded by Jiwon's love interests, the ones who have killed the villainess when she got in the way. Goosebumps raised along your skin as you moved closer to Jongho subconsiously. "Well..." "Well, Princess, did you have a good time at the celebration?" Wooyoung took over your words, smiling brightly to you as he sat down opposite you. His words broke the awkwardness in the room, as the others settled down on the couches. Jongho sat next to you, glaring at his older friends and at San as the older man took the seat next to Wooyoung.
"Thank you for asking, Prince Wooyoung. It was fun... Speaking of it, I must get back to my brother..." You have almost forgotten about Soobin. You left the grand hall to the garden and... And what happened?
Wait, what happened when you went to the garden? Why were you with Yunho?
How did you end up here?
You blinked, pausing. It was strange, you could not remember what had happened previously.
"Your Highness?" Jongho called gently. You looked up and met his eyes. "It's alright if you cannot remember."
"No..." Something is wrong. There was a voice nagging at the back of your head, telling you to leave. "I... Brother is waiting..." You made to stand, but an arm stopped you from standing. Yunho, who was previously forgotten, was standing behind you. Placing a firm hand on your shoulder, Yunho leaned closer towards you, shaking his head. "You can't leave, my Star."
Mingi looked confused, while Wooyoung exchanged a look with Yeosang. San's lips curled, leaning backwards into the couch as he watch the scene in front of him.
Oh, something fun is happening.
You avoided Yunho's eyes. The voice in the back of your head was screaming at you to not listen to Yunho and to not look into his eyes. It was telling you to go straight towards the door, and back to Soobin.
But why?
"He's right, my Star."
A voice said from the entrance. Your heart stops as Seonghwa enters with a familiar figure. Jongho's eyes darkened, muttering an enchanment. You suddenly felt weak, falling back into the arms of Jongho as Seonghwa approaches all of you.
"Who is that?" Mingi looked towards the figure with Seonghwa and back to you. Yeosang frowned, but then a sigh came from him. "You mean 'what is that', Mingi-ah." No wonder his Highness sent Jongho to Illusion..."
You watched in horror as the girl next to Seonghwa curtised to everyone.
"Greetings. I am Choi Y/n, the Princess of Eternity. May peace be ever in your grace."

When consciousness returned, it was shrouded in darkness.
A sense of disorientation enveloped you as you cautiously felt your surroundings. Beneath you lay a soft, expansive bed, and as you reached out, your hands confirmed your suspicions. Pushing yourself into a sitting position, you strained to discern any details in the oppressive blackness. But there was nothing. Your trembling fingers instinctively reached for your eyes, finding no obstruction. Panic seized you as the realization sank in — you were blind.
"My Star." The voice, soft yet unsettling, pierced the silence from your left. Startled, you turned toward it, muscles tense. A pair of hands gently caressed your face, tracing delicate patterns across your skin. "My precious Star is finally awake."
You recoiled, wrenching the hands away. "Don't touch me!" you exclaimed, swatting at the air. "What have you done to me?"
"A simple spell, dear Star, to temporarily obscure your sight," the voice replied, closer now. You sensed another presence behind you as hands trailed down your neck, sending shivers down your spine. "Do you wish to be able to see again?"
Your heart pounded with fear and confusion. "Release me, Kim Hongjoong!" you demanded, recognizing the second speaker.
Hongjoong's response was a chilling hiss, and suddenly, the darkness lifted. With the return of sight came a horrifying realization.
And you wished for the darkness once more.
Seonghwa knelt before you, his figure cloaked in shadows cast by the dim light filtering through the room. Dressed entirely in black, he exuded an air of mystery and authority. His long hair, held in place by a solitary hairpin, framed his face, while his eyes shimmered with a mixture of gentleness and unwavering admiration as they bore into yours.
Fear coursed through you, sending shivers down your spine as you struggled against the restraints binding you to the bed. With trembling hands, you turned your head, only to find Hongjoong perched behind you, his touch unsettling as his fingers toyed with your hair.
"Release me," you pleaded, your voice trembling with desperation.
Seonghwa's lips curled into a sly smile, his gaze unwavering. "I'm afraid that's out of the question," he replied, his voice smooth as silk yet laced with a hint of malice.
Hongjoong chuckled softly, his breath warm against your neck. "You're ours now," he whispered, his words sending a chill down your spine. Panic surged within you as you realized the gravity of your situation. Trapped and at the mercy of these enigmatic figures, you could only pray for salvation from the darkness that threatened to consume you.
"My brothers will look for me—" you started, but Hongjoong yanked your hair, forcing you to meet his gaze.
"Why would they?" His voice was smooth, tinged with a chilling calmness. "You weren't missing, my Star. You accepted my proposal willingly, and now you are back in Eternity with me. We will have a grand marriage a week from now."
Your heart pounded in your chest as his words sank in, a cold dread settling over you. The realization of your predicament dawned upon you, and you struggled against the restraints with renewed desperation.
"No, you're lying," you protested, your voice trembling. "I would never—"
"We would never, my Star. Are you forgetting what you have saw before dear Jongho put you to rest?"
Despite Seonghwa's elegant demeanor, his words cut through the air like a chilling breeze, sending a shiver down your spine. His voice, smooth as silk yet laced with poison, left no room for doubt.
As the memory of the figure that mirrored your likeness flooded back, horror coursed through your veins like a torrent. The image, so eerily similar yet devoid of warmth or humanity, filled you with a deep sense of dread.
You recoiled from the truth of their words, the implications of their actions sinking in with startling clarity. The realization of what they had done, of the twisted puppet they had created in your likeness, left you feeling sickened to the core.
Hongjoong's grip tightened, his eyes narrowing with a dangerous glint. "You belong to me now, my Star," he declared, his tone leaving no room for argument. "And there is no escaping your fate."
" 'Us', your highness," Seonghwa corrected. Hongjoong released your hair, his expression unreadable. "Of course. 'Us'." His voice dripped with possessiveness as he nuzzled his face into the crook of your neck. "So many to share you with... But all in good time."
"What you're doing is wrong, Hongjoong," you asserted, your voice trembling with defiance. "I don't love you, and I refuse to marry you."
The sudden violence from Hongjoong sent shockwaves through you, leaving you gasping for air as his grip tightened around your neck. Panic surged as you struggled against his hold, desperation clawing at your chest.
Seonghwa's passive stance only added to your sense of helplessness, his indifferent gaze fixing on the scene unfolding before him. There was a chill in his demeanor, a calculated detachment that sent a shiver down your spine.
"I'll end the lives of every potential suitor you have, my Star," Hongjoong growled, his voice dripping with malice. "Their blood will stain the very ground you walk on, a testament to the consequences of defying me."
The words hung in the air like a sinister omen, each syllable laced with a chilling promise of violence and retribution. You recoiled from the venom in his tone, the weight of his threat pressing down on you like a suffocating blanket.
In that moment, the true extent of Hongjoong's depravity became painfully clear, his twisted desires laid bare for all to see. The threat of his wrath loomed over you like a dark cloud, casting a shadow of fear that seemed impossible to escape. The realization of the depths of his depravity sent a wave of dread washing over you, your heart pounding in your ears.
But just as despair threatened to consume you, Seonghwa sprang into action, his intervention swift and decisive. With a deft motion, he pulled Hongjoong away from you, his grip firm and unwavering. You took the chance and crawled away from Hongjoong.
"Enough, your Highness," Seonghwa's voice cut through the tension, his tone commanding. "Violence will not solve anything."
You drew in a ragged breath, relief flooding through you as Seonghwa came to your rescue. Yet his words sent a chill down your spine, a cold reminder of the stakes at hand.
"Calm down, your highness," Seonghwa continued, his voice calm but tinged with an underlying threat. "I think the princess is clear on the consequences. It's a matter of choice between her freedom or her kingdom."
You froze, the weight of his words sinking in. This was no mere warning; it was a calculated manipulation, a sinister ultimatum that left you reeling.
As the gravity of the situation settled over you, you realized that you were truly alone, caught in a web of deceit with no escape in sight.
Seonghwa's touch was gentle yet firm as he pulled you into his lap, positioning you to face Hongjoong. With a sense of trepidation, you finally laid eyes on him, taking in his casual attire and the bracelet adorning his wrist, a mirror image of your own.
As Seonghwa's fingers traced the bruised contours of your neck, a wave of discomfort washed over you, a stark reminder of the violence that had transpired moments before. His voice, though sweet and gentle, held an underlying edge that sent a shiver down your spine.
"We will leave you alone to contemplate your choices, Princess," Seonghwa murmured, his words a thinly veiled command. Before you could protest, his hand covered your eyes once more, plunging you into darkness.
The sudden loss of vision left you disoriented and vulnerable, robbed of your senses and any semblance of control. Exhausted and defeated, you resigned yourself to your fate, no longer possessing the strength to fight against the forces arrayed against you.
With a tender gesture, Seonghwa tucked you back into the bed, his lips pressing against your forehead in a fleeting caress. The gesture, though seemingly affectionate, held an air of finality, a silent promise of his imminent return.
As the sound of their footsteps faded into the distance, leaving you alone in the suffocating darkness, you were consumed by a profound sense of despair. Trapped within the confines of your own mind, you were left to grapple with the weight of your choices and the uncertain future that lay ahead.

"Kai! We've got a problem."
The young man in the hoodie hurried over to where his friend sat slouched in a gaming chair, eyes bleary from staring at the screen. "Hyung, if this is about the coffee sachet in the pantry, I'm pretty sure none of the employees would notice if it went missing," Kai muttered, not looking up from his iPad.
Taehyun sighed impatiently. "No, it's not about coffee. Remember that coding glitch we had a few days ago? Turns out, a player accidentally updated the game to the beta version." He shoved his iPad toward Kai, who reluctantly glanced at the screen.
Kai's eyebrows furrowed as he read the altered character description. "This isn't what we wrote for Y/n's introduction."
"That's not all," Taehyun continued. "Her ID is Player 1117, and she's been experimenting with the villainess route, but each time she restarts, the code changes."
"We need to contact her immediately," Kai said, finally grasping the severity of the situation.
"I already tried, but it seems our messages are being blocked," Taehyun explained, frustration evident in his voice. "And there's something else. Look." He swiped the screen to show his in-game character, dressed in a white robe.
Kai raised an eyebrow. "You actually made yourself a priest?"
"Focus, Kai. The characters are communicating with me, and they seem to have developed a sense of self-awareness," Taehyun said urgently. "It's like they know who we are and what the game really is."
Kai scanned the speech bubble from Yunho.
I do not wish to serve the current Saintness, Priest. I know who you are and what this world is. I am not the first, Priest Kang.
"And then I was restricted from talking to him. I tried hacking it, but the code just refused to break." Taehyun's voice raised a few octaves. "I swear, Kai. If the program goes all Age of Ultron on us-"
Kai's expression darkened. "Do you know who Player 1117 is?"
Taehyun hesitated before revealing, "She was reported missing a few weeks ago."

Wooow, Beomgyu's instinct is really sharp if it is about his little sister🫡
I bet San's will take full advantage of the deal with Star😂. One lesson from this chapter is, don't ever say anything when making a deal with a madman because it will bite you in the future🥹🥹

The darkness enveloped you like a heavy shroud, leaving you adrift in a sea of nothingness. Time lost its meaning, and you found yourself trapped in a hazy dreamscape, disoriented and detached from reality.
Every sound echoed with an eerie clarity, from the distant footsteps outside your door to the faint chirping of birds beyond the window. Despite the attempts to bring you sustenance, you refused to eat, your silence a feeble protest against the circumstances imposed upon you.
When the door creaked open once more, you tensed, bracing yourself for another intrusion into your isolated world. A gentle presence settled on the bed beside you, and you recoiled instinctively, turning away from the intrusion.
"Greetings to the Star of Eternity. May peace be ever in your grace," a voice, unfamiliar yet strangely soothing, broke through the silence. You furrowed your brow, sensing the difference in tone from your usual visitor. The stranger's touch was cool against your skin as he took your hand, his lips brushing softly against it in a gesture of reverence.
"I apologize for the late visit, but his Highness was adamant about your safety," the stranger quipped, his words laced with insincerity.
"Be damned to his safety," you muttered bitterly, the weight of your defiance palpable in the air. A chuckle rumbled from the stranger's throat at your retort, his presence strangely comforting despite the circumstances.
"Why are you here, General San?" you questioned, your voice tinged with curiosity and a hint of suspicion.
San met your lifeless gaze with unwavering intensity, his expression unreadable as he licked his lips nervously. Slowly, almost hesitantly, he lowered his head to rest on your lap, his touch sending a shiver down your spine. You stiffened at the unexpected gesture, your muscles tensing as he gently guided your hands to cradle his head.
San removed your bracelet, his fingers dancing lightly over your hand, his touch sending a shiver down your spine as he questioned you with a playful tone. Your heart raced with uncertainty, unsure of what his true intentions were in this unexpected encounter.
"How did you know it was me, your Highness?" San's voice held a mischievous edge, his gaze locking with yours as if daring you to challenge him. You swallowed nervously, trying to mask the fear that threatened to consume you.
Drawing upon your wits, you recalled San's reputation as the unpredictable joker in Utopia. His unpredictability could be both a blessing and a curse, but in this moment, you saw a glimmer of hope. If you could appeal to his sense of mischief, perhaps you could persuade him to assist you in escaping this nightmare.
"If you were stuck in darkness for a long time, your hearing gets better," you replied, your voice steady despite the unease swirling within you. It was a calculated risk, hoping to appeal to San's penchant for games and unpredictability.
As you awaited his response, a sense of apprehension washed over you, unsure of how he would react to your attempt to outwit him. But in the darkness that surrounded you, you clung to the hope that maybe, just maybe, San would prove to be your unexpected ally in this desperate bid for freedom.
"Interesting," San hummed, his voice laced with intrigue as he released your hand, his gaze lingering on you with a mixture of curiosity and something darker. You couldn't help but feel a shiver run down your spine at the intensity of his scrutiny, the darkness of the room amplifying the tension between you.
As he drew closer, his breath mingled with yours, and you caught a faint whiff of milk, an unexpected detail that sent a ripple of unease through you. His words, though casual in tone, carried a veiled threat, and you braced yourself for whatever twisted game he had in store.
"You seem like you've accepted your fate, your Highness," he taunted, his fingers curling around your chin as he pulled your face closer to his. The proximity sent a jolt of fear coursing through you, but you refused to show any weakness in the face of his intimidation.
"I've always wondered why Jongho is so infatuated with you, staying by your side willingly," San continued, his words dripping with malice as he probed at your vulnerabilities. You resisted the urge to flinch, steeling yourself against his manipulative tactics.
"I do not have the answer to that, General," you replied, mustering a smile despite the unease that gnawed at your insides. Your hands clenched into fists by your side, a silent testament to the tension that hung heavy in the air between you and San. Despite his casual demeanor, you couldn't shake the feeling that there was something dangerous lurking beneath the surface of his playful facade.
San had intruded upon your solitude, laying his head on your lap as though the two of you were old acquaintances, when in reality, this was only the third time you had encountered each other. Nevertheless, you maintained a facade of composure, refusing to let him see the fear that churned within you.
"And I would like to propose something," you continued, your voice steady despite the turmoil that churned within you.
"Oh?" San's interest was piqued, his gaze fixed on you with a mixture of curiosity and anticipation. "What would the Star like to do?"
"I want to get out of this place, and you are the only person who could help me," you stated, choosing your words carefully to convey both your desperation and your recognition of San's potential role in your escape. By using the word "could," you made it clear that your fate rested in his hands, whether he liked it or not.
“That made me sound important, doesn’t it? That I am your only chance at escaping” San sounded amused. You feel his gaze on your face, and for a while you stayed in that position. Then San spoke softly. “What are you willing to exchange for your freedom, Star?”
Your heart pounds in your chest as you consider San's question, knowing that any bargain you strike could have dire consequences. But you also recognize that this may be your only chance at freedom.
"I... I will do whatever it takes," you reply, your voice trembling slightly. "I will give you anything you desire, if it means escaping this place."
San's gaze softens as he studies you, a hint of something unreadable flickering in his eyes. "Anything?" he echoes, his tone laced with curiosity.
You nod firmly, steeling yourself for whatever he may ask of you. "Yes, anything."
A slow smile spreads across San's lips, and you can't shake the feeling that you've just made a deal with the devil. But in this moment, with the promise of freedom dangling tantalizingly before you, you're willing to pay whatever price San demands.
"Understood." The pressure on your lap lifted as San. "“I shall help you leave this place, Princess," he declared, his voice carrying a distant tone. "Remember, you pledged anything in exchange for your freedom."
With a nod, you acknowledged his words, your fingers clutching the blanket's edge tightly. Recalling your experiences from the game, you were well aware of San's reputation for keeping his word, driving your determination to stay in his favor.
"Remember to eat, Princess," San reminded you before departing. The significance of his parting words lingered in the air, prompting you to wonder if they held a deeper meaning.
As San closed the door behind him he toyed with the rubied bracelet in his hand. The lingering softness of your skin was a tantalizing memory, and a playful smirk danced across his face.
"You seemed like you had fun." Wooyoung materialized beside San, his eyes immediately drawn to the bracelet on his hand. "Why did you take that out? Hongjoong hyung is going to throw a fit if he finds out."
San waved off the concern with a dismissive flick of his hand, a smirk playing on his lips. "Relax, Wooyoung. He doesn't know now, and he won't find out from you."
Wooyoung chewed on his lower lip, his playful demeanor faltering for a moment. "But what if I told him?"
San chuckled, his confidence unwavering as they strolled down the extravagant corridor of the palace of Mist. "You won't," he said. "Anyway, I heard that the Temple is sending a priest here?"
Wooyoung's attention shifted abruptly at the change in subject. "Yeah. You should have seen Yuyu's face when he told Hongjoong hyung." He giggled. "Apparently it's that Priest Kang that's coming for a visit. The Temple apparently disapproves of the marriage between the Star and hyung."
San's eyebrows lifted in interest. "Priest Kang? That's unexpected. Do you think there'll be trouble?" Wooyoung shrugged, a mischievous glint returning to his eyes. "Who knows? But it'll definitely stir things up around here. And you know how much we love a bit of drama." He nudged San with his elbow cheekily. "That reminds me, Jongho sent a letter back from Eternity, he said everything is going smoothly and no one raised suspicions yet. Well, except for the Eclipse."
The mention of the Eclipse, Choi Beomgyu, brought a crease between San's brows. "I see. Did his Highness say anything about that?" he asked.
Wooyoung shook his head. "Not much. Just that Beomgyu's inquiries have been... persistent. But Jongho assured us he's handling it discreetly."
The pair reached the end of the corridor. San threw the ruby bracelet casually inside the decorative plant as Wooyoung tapped his fingers rhythmically on one of the tiles on the wall. Once he was done, the wall quickly shifted, revealing a hidden passageway.
"After you, Sannie," Wooyoung said with a playful grin, gesturing for San to go through first. San nodded in acknowledgment, stepping into the concealed passage with a sense of familiarity. The corridor led them deeper into the heart of the palace until they reached a heavy oak door, its surface etched with intricate designs.
With a gentle push, the door creaked open, revealing a vast chamber bathed in soft, golden light. Shelves lined the walls from floor to ceiling, filled with ancient tomes and leather-bound volumes. The air was heavy with the scent of parchment and dust, and the only sound was the faint rustling of pages. A figure sat upon one of the rich leather chairs, his head barely looking up as he spoke. "Done seeing the Princess?"
"Ah, Yeosang." Wooyoung ran over to the said male, dropping right beside him. "I didn't get to see her, Sannie did."
Yeosang, with his sharp features and calm demeanor, finally lifted his gaze from the book he was reading. His eyes, a piercing shade of amber, flickered with amusement as he regarded San. "How is she?"
"Well, blind." San shrugged. His thoughts went back to when he was toying with her hand. "And soft. Very soft."
Yeosang raised an eyebrow, his interest piqued. "She's not like the other toys, San," he reminded, closing his book. San rolled his eyes. "I know that, Heir of the South. Now if you excuse me," he gave a mock bow before hurrying through the exit.
Yeosang watched San's departure with a thoughtful expression, his mind already spinning with possibilities. He glanced over at Wooyoung, who shrugged helplessly.
"Don't look at me, I have no idea what happened," Wooyoung said, his tone laced with amusement. Yeosang merely hummed, before opening his book again.

It’s funny how a game can send your blood boiling.
“Dammit!” You groaned in frustration, throwing your phone onto the bed. The words ‘Game Over’ flashed on the screen, and you ran a hand through your hair, fuming. Not once have you ever made it to the end of the game.
That is your fourteenth attempt at this stupid, godforsaken game.
Utopia is the newest Otome game that has gained attention due to its famously handsome characters and interesting romance. It follows the story of Lee Jiwon, a common student who transmigrated into an unknown dynasty as a talented magic user, meeting eight potential love interests along her way of conquering the world.
However, when you updated the game to the newest version, you were surprised to find out that you could play as the early villainess in the story, the Princess of Eternity.
Coincidentally, the villainess also shares the same first name as you, Y/n. As the Princess of Eternity, she was sent to the Kingdom of Mist as an envoy of Eternity, and fell in love with the Crown Heir, Prince Kim Hongjoong. Jealous of the relationship between Jiwon and Hongjoong, she tried to sabotage Jiwon many times, but failed at every attempt. After attacking her country and beheading her family, Y/n was executed.
You sighed, reaching for your phone again. The words signaling game over seemed to be laughing at you, at your incompetency to complete Y/n’s route. You scowled at it. “If I am free to choose my route, I’ll survive this stupid game!” You swore, pointing your fingers accusingly at the screen. With determination, you tapped on the revive button.
Without warning, a bright white light flashed, swallowing you whole. Your arms quickly move in front of your eyes to shield them from the light.
And you were gone.

This cannot be true.
You stared at the young girl in the mirror before you. She seemed no more than twelve years old, her raven hair cascades in soft waves around her shoulders, framing her face like a midnight veil. Her eyes are pools of dark brown, with mesmerizing purple swirls dancing within her pupils.
Her skin is fair and smooth, like porcelain, with a delicate rosy hue on her cheeks that speaks of youth and vitality. Her features were exactly of the Y/n in Utopia - a small button nose, full rosy lips and high cheekbones. She wears a silky sleeping gown, one that looks exactly the same as the one you are wearing right now.
You raised your hand to touch your face, and so did her.
You have read many novels about transmigrating - but novels are fiction. And this is real.
“I’m… in the game?” You whispered, your shaking fingers reaching to touch the mirror. But the cool touch on the tips of your fingers told you that this is not a dream, that everything is real. You looked around, the room you were in is spacious, with high ceilings adorned with intricately carved moldings and delicate crystal chandeliers. Sunlight streams through tall windows draped in dark amethyst curtains, glowing down on you.
The walls, floors and pillars were made of the finest marble, covered with sumptuous silk tapestries of flowers. You walked towards the nearest wall, running your fingers along the fine threads that form the images that seem to come alive in the flickering light of the candles and fireplace.
In the center of the chamber sits a four-poster bed, its canopy draped in sheer silk curtains. The bed is covered in luxurious lavender silk sheets, embroidered with the finest silver thread. You walked over to them, taking a seat. They were soft and light, like you were sitting on a cotton cloud. You stared outside of the window, trying to digest the fact that you are in the game.
But who are you?
Suddenly, there was a knock on the door. You watched as a maid entered, bowing to you. “Greetings to the Star of Eternity. The Moon and Eclipse have requested your audience.”
You nearly let out a squeak; the maid had answered your question. As two young boys walked in, you were even more certain of it.
You are now Choi Y/n, Star of Eternity, Princess of the Eternity Kingdom.
"Y/n!" The shorter one ran towards you, lifting you up in his arms as though you weighed nothing. "How is our little Star feeling today?"
"Beomgyu! Y/n's twelve, stop carrying her like that!" The taller one chided, as Beomgyu rolled his eyes, sticking his tongue out at his older brother in response. You wrapped your arms around his neck for support, staring up at your third brother's face.
Choi Beomgyu, the Eclipse of Eternity. He is the third Prince, known for his gift of creating illusions. Utopia did not have much of Y/n's backstory, but you knew that Beomgyu was the only person spared under Wooyoung's sword, and took over Eternity as the new King.
The Beomgyu holding you has long black hair that falls into his shoulders. He pressed a kiss onto your temple, rubbing his cheek against yours like a cat. "My little Star, so precious." He cooed, ignoring the exasperated sighs of your other brother across the room. "What would I do without you?"
You looked over to your other brother for help. He put his hand on his forehead tiredly. "Let Y/n down, Gyu. Please."
"You're all work and no fun, Soobin hyung." Beomgyu pouted unhappily, placing you gently back on the bed. "Is our little Star excited to meet her new friend?"
Choi Soobin, Moon of Eternity, the second Prince born with the gift of manipulating water. He would later become the War General of Eternity, dying to San in a battle.
Soobin shared the same raven hair as the both of you, his fringe falling in front of his eyes. He seemed to have had enough of Beomgyu, sighing loudly and flexing his right arm before casually delivering a loud smack on the back of Beomgyu's head. Ignoring Beomgyu's over-dramatic whines, Soobin approached you, kneeling on one knee to be at the same eye level as you. Taking your hand into his, Soobin had a simple dimpled smile on his face.
"Y/n-ah, remember when Mother mentioned that we have guests over? They are very important people, so remember to behave yourself, okay?"
You tilted your head in confusion. "How important are they, Brother?"
Beomgyu stopped whining and exchanged a look with Soobin. The other lifted his thumb and index, slowly pulling them apart. "It’s this important, Y/n-ah."
"The point is," Beomgyu interjected, earning a disapproving look from Soobin. "They will be arriving before dinner. Yeonjun hyung had already gone to welcome them along with Mother, so we have an afternoon for you to get ready, Y/n." He grinned, one that made you nervous for no reason. "Our little Star must be pretty too."
You glanced at Soobin. The older man nodded, wearing a satisfied expression on his face as though Beomgyu finally made sense. "I got you many dresses to try on, Y/n-ah. Shall we go?" He smiled, offering his hand to you.
You were bathed by the maids before they dressed you into a lavender dress with puffed sleeves and the hem fell gracefully to your knees. Beomgyu picked a purple silk ribbon, tying it to your hair while Soobin knelt on one knee, fitting a pair of white shoes with amethyst crystals onto your feet. When you were done, Beomgyu gushed in delight, showering you with compliments after compliments.
"Our Gem, our little Star," Beomgyu cooed as your face heated up at the praises. "Looking so pretty... I mean, you are always pretty, my Star, but right now, with my magnificent sense of fashion-"
"Our Star!" A loud voice boomed, sending everyone in the room jumping. A tall, blonde hair male barged in, his eyes lighting up the moment it landed on you. You hear Beomgyu mutter a curse under his breath while Soobin puts his hand on his chest. "Yeonjun hyung, at least announce that you're here!"
Yeonjun ignored him, making a beeline towards you and dismissing the maids in the process. "Our Star, so bright and... Why is she so purple?" His face scrunched up at the sight of the little purple crystals adorning your hair, which Beomgyu had 'generously' clipped onto your hair. "Take it off, take it off. The ribbon is purple enough; Y/n doesn't have to be a grape for the Kims to see."
Choi Yeonjun, Sun of Eternity, heir to the throne. He is the oldest out of the four of you, with an ability to soothe feelings. Your face fell slightly, remembering how Yeonjun had died when you played Utopia as the heroine. He was stabbed by...
Who was it?
"You don't know fashion at all, hyung." Beomgyu grumbled, cutting you off your thoughts. Soobin and Beomgyu had been quarreling over the hairclips, and you did not want to pick a side. Yeonjun removed all the crystals in your hair, leaving only the ribbon. "There, our Star shines bright enough like this."
"Thank you, Brothers." You smiled sweetly and the three cooed in response. Beomgyu had his hand dramatically held over his heart, Soobin covered his blushing face with his gloved hands and Yeonjun proudly grinning. "Wait until Mother and Father see you, little Star. Now, shall we run along?"
You took Yeonjun’s hand and allowed him to guide you to the banquet hall with Beomgyu and Soobin trailing behind you two like bodyguards. You could hear the activity in the hall from outside, and you gripped Yeonjun’s hand nervously.
"Announcing the arrival of the Sun, Moon, Eclipse, and Star of Eternity!" The voices of the guards boomed. Yeonjun squeezed your hand as the doors opened, revealing a quiet banquet hall. You could feel many eyes staring at you, but you remained composed, walking alongside Yeonjun to the King and Queen of Eternity. The nobles you walked past bowed respectfully, and when you finally reached the throne, Yeonjun let go of your hand.
"Greetings to Your Majesties," Yeonjun said, bowing to both the King and Queen of Eternity. You curtseyed, while Beomgyu and Soobin bowed behind you. “May peace be ever in your grace.” The King, your Father, nodded. “You may rise.” The King of Eternity is never shown in Utopia, but you knew that like Soobin, he died under San’s sword. You scanned the man on the throne. He seemed to be in his forties, with the same platinum blond hair as Yeonjun and a kind-looking face.
You didn’t miss the subtle wink the raven-haired woman beside him gave you. Sending a sweet smile towards your Mother, the Queen of Eternity, you turned your attention to the two other presence in the banquet hall.
Yeonjun turned towards them. “Greetings to the Queen of Mist, and Prince Hongjoong. May peace be ever in your grace.”
You froze slightly at the name, but quickly recovered when Yeonjun gently tickled your side, telling you to bow. When you straightened back up again, your eyes met a pair of golden slits. Kim Hongjoong gave you a soft smile, but you quickly looked away, your heart pounding.
Kim Hongjoong, the Prince of Mist. The one who the original Y/n had fallen in love with, and lost both her life and her kingdom to. When you played as Jiwon, Hongjoong seemed to be a normal, sweet Prince who was loyal and polite to her even if she was a commoner. However, when you played as Y/n, he was evil, nasty and horrifying.
The Queen of Mist inclined her head slightly. “Greetings to the Sun, Moon, Eclipse and Star of Eternity. May peace be ever in your grace.” She turned to look at Hongjoong, who too bowed, echoing the greetings. When he was done, you grabbed onto Yeonjun’s sleeve, hiding your face in it.
“Seems like the Star is a little shy, Mira.” Mira is your mother’s maiden name. Yeonjun patted your hair consolingly as your mother laughed. “Oh, Ayang. She'll recognize you soon, you even carried her as a baby.”
The Queen of Mist and your mother seemed to know each other, seeing that they were addressing each other by a first-name basis. You peeked out from behind Yeonjun, avoiding Hongjoong’s gaze as you looked towards the Queen of Mist. She chuckled at your cute reaction, beckoning you. “Come here, little Star, let Auntie have a good look at you.”
“It’s not fair!” Beomgyu burst out dramatically. “You always favored Y/n, Auntie Ayang!”
You blinked, confused at the turns of events. What is happening? Didn’t Beomgyu and Soobin say that they are important guests? And why is your Mother now walking towards the Queen of Mist, holding her hand as she speaks?
“Here.” Yeonjun pushed you out from his side gently. “Go say hi.” You carefully took a few steps forwards, still refusing to look at Hongjoong as you grip your dress tightly. “Y-your Majesty…”
“It’s Auntie Ayang for you, my little Y/n.” The woman bent down slightly while your Mother stood next to her, smiling. “I am your Mother’s best friend, little Star. This is a family event, we can be casual with each other.”
Your heart thumped loudly at this piece of information. So Y/n and Hongjoong had already known each other before Y/n went to the Kingdom of Mist for… For what?
Why.. Why can’t you remember?
“Now, shall the dinner start?” Your Father’s voice pulled you out of reality. You blinked rapidly, and quickly followed Yeonjun as everyone settled down on one table. Unfortunately for you, Hongjoong took the seat next to you.
“Hello, Y/n. I’m Hongjoong.” Hongjoong introduced himself in a small, shy voice, his golden, snake-like eyes upon you. “I hope we’ll be good friends with each other.”
You stared at him, your brows furrowing unconsciously. Then you blurted out, “I don’t want to.”
“Don’t want to do what, Y/n?” Yeonjun didn’t catch the whole conversation and had fetched a napkin for you. You frowned at Hongjoong, your lips forming into an adorable pout.
“I don’t want to be friends with Kim Hongjoong.”

"I don't want to be friends with Kim Hongjoong."
Hongjoong's smile faded, splintering like a crack spreading across a porcelain mask. However, he quickly recovered, his eyes shining with tears as the table fell silent.
"Y/n-ah..." Yeonjun started awkwardly, unsure how to salvage the situation. Your father cleared his throat, signaling for the servants to serve the dishes. The silence was soon broken as the dining table came to life with the sound of light, animated chatter.
For some reason, the adults did not want to get involved in this matter. Unbeknownst to you, your three brothers exchanged worried glances, shifting their eyes from you to Hongjoong. You ignored their looks, focusing solely on the food in front of you.
If falling in love with Hongjoong is the reason why Eternity became a broken kingdom, that just gives you more reason to avoid him. Now that you are 'Choi Y/n', there is no way you are going to let the fall of Eternity happen. The characters you see in the game are living and breathing, and even though you've only interacted with your older brothers for a short while, it feels as if you've known them your entire life. How could you still let the same plot from the game unfold?
But why can't you remember who killed Yeonjun?
A small voice at the back of your head nags ominously, whispering that something is wrong, that you have forgotten something very, very important. But what is it? What have you forgotten?
The rest of the dinner went by in a blur. When your plate was clean, you wiped your mouth neatly with the napkin Yeonjun had fetched for you earlier. You got off your seat and turned to your parents.
“Thank you for the dinner,” you started, ignoring the piercing gaze of Hongjoong. “I shall excuse myself.”
“Alright,” your father replied, his voice warm yet slightly concerned. Your mother gave a small nod, her eyes filled with unspoken questions. You bowed to the Queen of Mist, who inclined her head to you, and gave a quick bow to Hongjoong.
You felt Hongjoong's gaze follow you as you left the dining room. You walked down the hallway alone, each step echoing in the quiet halls. As you reached your room, you dismissed the servants and closed the door behind you before you leaned against it, taking a deep breath.
You’re scared.
Hongjoong is a good actor. But his crocodile tears did not fool you, not when you knew the plot of Utopia. If you had not known what kind of person he is, you would have fallen into his web of deceits.
Get a grip on yourself, Y/n-ah.

Seonghwa knew that his prince was not in a good mood.
He stood behind Hongjoong, watching the prince roll a brooch between his fingers. Hongjoong’s expression was hidden in the darkness of the flickering candle, but Seonghwa knew he was thinking.
He couldn’t help but wonder why Hongjoong was in such a bad mood. Did something happen at the dinner with the Chois? Seonghwa thought of the dinners he had attended with Hongjoong back at Mist. Anger crept into his thoughts as a strange black mist gathered at the tips of his fingers. Was his prince ridiculed? Did they insult his highness?
“Hwa.” Seonghwa cleared his thoughts, his attention immediately shifting to his prince. Hongjoong was looking up at him with a lost expression on his face. “What do you know about the Star of Eternity?”
Seonghwa’s fingers curled into a fist. Was the Princess of Eternity the reason for Hongjoong’s mood? He quickly skimmed through his memory, trying to recall what he had heard about the Princess before.
“There wasn’t much news about her, except that the Chois are very protective of her,” Seonghwa replied carefully. Hongjoong looked at the brooch in his hand, a troubled expression on his face.
“Protective?” he repeated, his voice tinged with a manic edge. Suddenly, a crazed smile twisted his lips. Hongjoong laughed loudly, slamming the brooch into the couch. “No, no, no… She saw right through me, Seonghwa-ah…” His laughter turned into unsettling giggles as he spun around to face Seonghwa. His eyes were wild with excitement as he kneeled on the couch, gripping the attendant’s arm with a vice-like hold. “Isn’t it exciting, Hwa? Someone who saw through me… Even Mother fell for my innocent facade…”
“Your highness…” Seonghwa began, his eyes filled with a mix of intrigue and worry.
“Such an interesting person, the Star of Eternity…” Hongjoong muttered, his tone a disturbing mix of fascination and obsession. Seonghwa bowed his head slightly. “Do you know how she looked at me, Hwa? She didn’t trust me, not one bit!” Hongjoong sighed dreamily, loosening his hold on Seonghwa. “She’s not as easy as we thought, Hwa, no…”
“Do you want to get rid of her then, your highness?” Seonghwa asked, treading carefully.
Hongjoong’s smile vanished, replaced by an eerie stillness. His eyes flickered with a dangerous light as he considered Seonghwa’s words. “Get rid of the Star?” he repeated slowly, leaning towards Seonghwa. The older boy immediately let his knee fall to the ground, bowing his head. “My apologies, your highness-”
The attendant held his breath, bracing for the blow. True enough, a force threw him up in the air and sent him flying backwards into the wall while something sharp grazed his cheeks. Seonghwa let out a groan as he wiped the corner of his bleeding lips, picking himself up. Hongjoong looked at him from the couch, his eyes cold and unfeeling.
“Hwa.” Hongjoong called. Seonghwa crawled onto his knees, hearing the appending thunderstorm in Hongjoong’s seemingly calm voice. “Do you know why I left Wooyoung back in Mist?” Of course Seonghwa knew why. Wooyoung is Hongjoong’s younger half-brother, a result of the drunken King of Mist, who had forced the Queen’s maid into serving him whilst the Queen had just given birth to Hongjoong. The maid, who is loyal to his mother, had begged for the Queen’s forgiveness, and died shortly after giving birth to Wooyoung.
The other royalties looked down on Wooyoung because of his birthing, but the young prince paid them no attention. In fact, Seonghwa thinks that that brat does not see himself as a prince at all. He was always out of the castle, creating havoc and pranks on the other prince and princess.
But at the same time, that troublemaker is loyal to Hongjoong. He has no intentions of the throne, and sees Hongjoong as his only master, just like Seonghwa.
“Wooyoung is a good boy, but he likes to question my decisions.” Hongjoong answered his own question, picking up the brooch he was previously playing with. “But Hwa, you know better than to do that, don’t you?”
Seonghwa’s breath hitched. “Yes, your highness.” He answered.
“Good. Don’t let Mother see you in this state, Hwa.”

You frowned at the boy in front of you. Hongjoong stood before you, looking as innocent as a young foal. “Greetings to the Star of Eternity, may peace be ever in your favour.”
“Greetings to the Prince, may peace be ever in your favour,” you replied, setting down your cup of tea. After transmigrating into Y/n’s body, you had retained her memories and most of her behaviours. Y/n would often have a tea session by herself in the Royal Garden of the Eternity Palace, sometimes joined by her brothers if they had the time. However, you had only just started drinking your first cup of tea when Hongjoong barged into the garden with another tall teenager behind him.
At first, you paid no attention to him. The only thought in your mind was to keep Hongjoong as far away from you as possible. “What has brought the Prince into my garden?” you questioned coldly, your eyes conveying your dislike. Hongjoong looked a little hurt, his golden eyes staring sadly at you as though you had done something tragically wrong to him.
“Would you let me join you, your highness?” Hongjoong asked, with a hint of cautiousness in his voice. You opened your mouth to refute, but accidentally met the gaze of that boy behind him.
Long black hair, green eyes. A strong jawline, sharp cheekbones, and full, plump lips. This was Park Seonghwa, Hongjoong’s loyal attendant.
Park Seonghwa was one of the more popular characters in Utopia. He was a commoner on the streets who had pledged his loyalty to Hongjoong after being saved by him from an illegal magician’s tower. As an experiment, Seonghwa was different from ordinary men, and his elemental powers included the mysterious mist magic.
There wasn’t much detailed description of his display of power that you could remember, but one thing was certain: Seonghwa was not what he seemed to be.
In Jiwon’s route, Seonghwa was an elegant man who could make her blush with the simplest gestures. His charm was undeniable, and he expressed his affection through numerous courting gifts. From delicate roses and precious stones to exquisite clothes and even rare animals, Seonghwa spared no expense in showing his devotion.
One scene stood out vividly in your memory. Seonghwa had presented Jiwon with a precious tiara crafted from the finest amethyst after Mist had conquered Eternity. The tiara was breathtaking, its deep purple stone shimmering with a brilliance that captivated everyone who saw it.
But there was more to the amethyst than its beauty. That stone on the tiara was once part of the crown your father wore. It was the one precious stone that symbolised the enduring power and legacy of your family. Seeing it on the tiara was a stark reminder of the fall of Eternity and the painful loss of your kingdom.
In Y/n’s route, however, Seonghwa is no more than a cruel lapdog of Hongjoong. No matter how many times you have tried to court him, he has not once trusted you. Your brows furrowed at the thought of the amount of currencies you have spent to make choices for Seonghwa’s affection level to just go past fifty percent.
Stupid currency, what a scam.
“Your highness?” Hongjoong called out, noticing that your attention had swayed from him. His voice, tinged with irritation, cut through your thoughts. He frowned, following your gaze. His jaw tightened when he realised you were staring at Seonghwa, and that his attendant was the one who had distracted you from him.
Hongjoong’s eyes darkened with a mix of annoyance and jealousy. The prince moved swiftly in front of Seonghwa, blocking him from your view. “Your highness,” he repeated, his voice more insistent, drawing your gaze back to him. “May I join you for a cup of tea?”
You blinked, pulling your thoughts away from Seonghwa and back to the prince in front of you. Most of Hongjoong’s flaming red hair was tucked away into the black beret he was wearing, decorated with rubies. His golden eyes peered out at you from under his fringe, and you shook your head, steeling yourself against his intense gaze.
“You’re not welcomed here, Prince of Mist.” You said slowly, each word deliberate and firm. “As I said before, I don’t want to be friends with you, so do not come close to me.”
A sudden chill crept up your spine after you have said those words. You hear one of your maids gasp at your boldness, but you didn’t care. Behind Hongjoong, Seonghwa could feel his anger rising. How can anyone treat his prince like this? He thought, biting the inside of his cheeks while keeping his head low. His fingers twitched as a small cloud of dark mist began to form around it.
No, he couldn’t take this lying down.
But before he could do anything, Hongjoong took a step forward. You straightened your back, your eyes wide with alertness. “May I have a word with you in private, your highness?” Hongjoong asked, his silky voice laced with forced politeness. “Just this once.”
You gripped the hem of your skirt, your gaze shifting from Hongjoong to Seonghwa. After a moment's hesitation, you nodded. “Leave us,” you commanded, and your maids bowed respectfully to Hongjoong before quietly exiting the garden. Hongjoong was only thirteen years old; what danger could he pose? Besides, you recalled that his powers hadn't developed until he was fifteen. Seonghwa gave Hongjoong a long look, before bowing and leaving as well.
There was a moment of silence when the both of you were finally alone. Hongjoong advanced forwards and you tensed up, gripping the arms of your chair tightly. “Do not come closer, Prince of Mist.” You warned, as Hongjoong paused, his expression unreadable.
"I have a question, your highness," he began, his voice steady but with an underlying chill that seemed to lower the temperature around you. "As far as I am aware, yesterday was our first meeting, correct?" Hongjoong's long fingers toyed with a brooch on his collar. "I do not recall having done anything to warrant your dislike, your highness."
"I simply do not like you, Prince of Mist," you said coldly. For a moment, you thought Hongjoong was about to cry. Pools of liquid gathered in his eyes as he stared at you, but the emotion within them told a different story.
He’s not sad, you realised.
And then Hongjoong started to laugh. Tears of amusement rolled down his eyes as he grip the back of another chair for support, his laughter reverberating around the garden. You frowned, not understanding which part of the conversation was funny.
But you sensed something was amiss. Hongjoong breathed heavily, wiping the tears from his face. "You amuse me, my Star," he sighed, his intense gaze sending goosebumps along your skin. "You're the first, my Star."
The first person to see through him, the first person to not fall for his mask, and the first person to so blatantly show dislike towards him. Hongjoong licked his lips, and without warning, he pounced on you, leaning dangerously close. Your mouth opened in a silent scream as Hongjoong placed his hands on either side of you, trapping you in the small space of the chair.
“Let’s get engaged, my Star.” His words sent your eyes widening, shocking you. The Prince of Mist slid down towards the floor, kneeling in front of you. His head laid on your lap, his eyes boring into yours. “Our mothers would be elated at this news, no?”
At the mention of your mother, you finally found your strength back. You kicked Hongjoong off you, standing up so fast that the chair was knocked over. Hongjoong fell backwards onto the floor, his snake-like eyes capturing your attempt to escape from him.
“If you come close to me, Kim Hongjoong,” your voice was shaking as you pulled a long hairpin out from your long hair, causing it to fall over your shoulders. Pointing the sharp end of the hairpin at Hongjoong, you tried to control the trembles on your arm. “I’ll stab you with this pin. Have I made myself clear?”
Your chest rises and falls quickly as you watch Hongjoong pick himself up, patting off the dust on his clothes. “As you wish, my Star.” He answered, a smirk playing on his lips. You were aware of the possessiveness in his voice, gripping your hairpin tighter. “But this isn’t over yet, my Star.”
When Hongjoong left, your legs finally gave way and you collapsed in relief. When the maids entered, they were surprised to find you sitting on the ground with your hair untied. As they helped you to your feet, you turned to them with a cold expression. 'Not a word to my brothers,' you commanded. 'If my brothers hear anything about the Prince of Mist's meeting with me, be prepared to face the consequences.”
“Yes, your highness.”

Woah😦 so Taehyun is yn brother in real life🫢 and we got the background plot of Utopia games before Yn transmigrated into the game. I'm still hoping my theory about who killed Yeonjun in the og plot is wrong🥹🥹
But I'm curious, is there a time comparison in the game with in real life yn, K?🤔 like one day in rl equal to one week or month in the game🤔
(Thank you for the update, K 🥰🫂😘🫶🏻 I'll wait patiently for the new chapter🥹😆🤭)

back to masterlist?

The royalties of Mist were leaving.
For the entire two weeks that they have been here, you refused to talk to, or even look at Kim Hongjoong. The Prince of Mist kept to his promise and kept a distance away from you, but even though he did, you could always feel his possessive gaze on you.
“Goodbye, little Y/n.” The Queen of Mist says fondly, patting you on the head as Beomgyu, at the back, whines about not being her favourite anymore. Your parents had already bade them farewell prior to this. You said your goodbyes politely, sliding behind Yeonjun smoothly once you were done.
You could feel Hongjoong staring at you.
You look up to the carriage. Hongjoong was indeed staring at you. As your gaze met each other’s, a smug smirk tugged at the corner of Hongjoong’s lips. His lips parted and closed, words soundlessly coming out from his mouth. You glared at him from behind Yeonjun, and he smirked again, disappearing from the carriage window.
“Y/n, are you okay?” A warm hand was placed on your shoulder. Yeonjun looked at you in concern, and your anger dissipated. He must have felt the negativity radiating from you. You shook your head and gathered up a bright smile. “I'm fine, Brother.”
You're not. The Queen of Mist boarded the carriage, and you and your brothers stood at the gate, watching them leave. As the carriage disappeared into the distance, what Hongjoong said replayed in your mind.
“See you soon, my Star.”

You rushed to your room, dismissing all the maids and servants. You headed straight towards your desk, taking out a piece of parchment and a feathered quill.
See you soon? You rolled your eyes. Hongjoong’s threat reminded you of something. You quickly scribbled down the names of the important characters and events of Utopia on the parchment, forming a complicated web upon the paper.
Utopia’s story starts like this: A normal girl Lee Jiwon from a common family had transmigrated into the game after a car accident. She then became the youngest daughter of a fallen noble family in the kingdom of Mist. She then attended the power discovering ceremony when she was thirteen years old, and discovered that she has the power of light and healing - a power only the saintness have. She was then taken to the Temple, where she met Jeong Yunho for the first time. He was the first love interest that the players of Utopia came across.
You drew a line from Yunho’s name to Jiwon, and then you linked both of them to the temple. While at the temple, she also met Kang Yeosang, son of the Southern Duke of Mist. The two met each other at the temple while Jiwon was tending to an injured animal she discovered in the bushes. Yeosang then slowly fell in love with her because of how gentle and kind she was, and so did Yunho. Yunho and Yeosang will then proceed to secretly vye for Jiwon’s affection, but she would be oblivious to it.
You drew a line from Yeosang to the Temple and back to Jiwon.
After spending three years of studying in the Temple, Jiwon will enrol into the Magic Academy of Utopia, becoming a student.
The Magic Academy is a prestigious school attended by royalties and the gifted with magic from all kingdoms. It is built on neutral land, and the closer kingdoms around it are Mist, Miroh and Klaxon It is protected by a mysterious force of power.
In the Academy, Jiwon will then gain the attention of Hongjoong, the crown prince of Mist, because of her status. Hongjoong sent Seonghwa to approach the soon-to-be saintness on his behalf, and the attendant fell in love with her instead. Intrigued by this, Hongjoong decided to approach Jiwon himself.
You drew two more lines, linking Hongjoong, Seonghwa and Jiwon together. Your quill hovered above your name.
You, the villainess Y/n, enters the plot here. You were invited to an event in Mist, and was soon enrolled into the academy. Choi San, the son of the war general of Mist, was picked as your guard. Through him you met Hongjoong’s younger brother, Jung Wooyoung. Through the event, you had fallen in love with Kim Hongjoong, and was jealous of Lee Jiwon. Wooyoung was the one who encouraged you to pick on Jiwon, roping in San to assist you, only to then expose you in front of everyone, resulting in your imprisonment. .
A war between Eternity and Mist began, and you watched your family die before you, before Hongjoong took your head off himself.
You shivered, goosebumps rising across your skin as you drew lines between Wooyoung, San and yourself, before linking your brothers to San.
Although you couldn’t remember what happened next, you knew that Beomgyu was the only person left alive, and was crowned the ruler of Eternity. You stared at his name, before giving out a sigh in frustration.
Your gaze turned to the two more unlinked names: Song Mingi and Choi Jongho.
Mingi is the childhood best friend of Yunho. He had become a love interest after Y/n’s death as he had enrolled in the academy after her event. Jongho, however, was the most mysterious character.
You drew a line from Jongho’s name to another name: ‘Magic Tower’.
The Magic Tower is almost the same as the Magic Academy. However, its learning environment was more harsh and dangerous. Students of the Magic Tower are free to battle and kill each other to take places.
Beomgyu attends the Magic Tower due to his powers.
You bit your lower lip in frustration. You seemed to have found a key, but you have no idea which lock it belongs to.
Carefully, you linked Beomgyu to the Magic Tower, and then to Jongho.
Suddenly, a thought struck you. What if, instead of enrolling into the Magic Academy, you enrol into the Magic Tower?
Besides, you’ll enter the tower one year earlier than him, which means that you do not have to face him. You could just avoid him at the tower and stay with Beomgyu. Since most of the plot happens in the Magic Academy, you can avoid them by going to the Magic Tower.
Right?

Seoul Hospital.
Urgent footsteps echoed off the walls of the cold corridors of the hospital. Kang Taehyun ran as fast as his legs could carry him, apologising profusely to the people he bumped into along his way. His eyes flickered towards the signs in front of the wards, counting them.
06…07…08!
Taehyun stopped abruptly, pushing the door of the hospital ward wide open. Inside, a blonde figure stood up at the sight of him, looking relieved. “Taehyun oppa…”
“How’s Y/n?” Taehyun rushed forwards to the unmoving girl lying on the hospital bed. “What did the doctor say?”
Hiyyih shook her head. She seemed tired, her lips dry and devoid of their usual rosy colour as she sat back down. “They say that they have no idea what happened to her… She just had a shock and slipped into a coma.”
“So she’s okay?” Taehyun’s heart broke at the sight of his little sister on the hospital bed. Hiyyih didn’t answer that, but from her tired expression, Taehyun could only assume the best. “Where’s Kai?”
Hiyyih’s eyes glinted at the mention of her older brother. “He went to check with the doctor about Y/n. I’ve been taking care of her ever since I found her.”
“Thank you.” Taehyun said gratefully. Now that he’s looking directly at Hiyyih, he noticed that she looked terrible - there were bags under her eyes and her skin was paler than usual. She waved her hand, cracking a small smile. “Don’t, we have known each other for years now. Besides, Y/n’s my roommate.”
“Still, I’m glad you discovered her.” Taehyun insisted.
The door opened. Kai stepped in, his eyes lighting up at the sight of Taehyun. “You’re here!” Kai exclaimed, somewhat looking like his younger sister. There were similar bags under his eyes, and Taehyun couldn’t help but feel even more moved. “Yeah, I rushed here as soon as the plane landed.”
“Since you’re here, oppa, I’ll go and take a rest first.” Hiyyih yawned, grabbing her sweater. Kai and Taehyun nodded, as the blonde girl left the ward.
“The doctors say that Y/n’s coma was sudden with no reason.” Kai said, sitting down on the couch where his younger sister had previously rested. “There was no known cause, and Hiyyih said that Y/n doesn’t have any drinking or smoking habits. They sent her down for the CT scan and there was nothing wrong.”
“So she slipped into a coma without knowing why?” Taehyun carefully removed a strand of hair on his sister’s face. “I shouldn’t have flown to Japan…”
Kai paused. He made a face, one that he would wear when he is in a dilemma. Taehyun saw it, and he said, “Is there anything else I should know?”
Kai fiddled with his thumbs. “Well, I know it's an inappropriate time for me to say this, especially when Y/n is lying here, but the VR program for Utopia has a problem.”
Taehyun and Kai have been best friends since young, having known each other when both of them were in diapers. Two years ago, Kai had developed an otome game - a present for his younger sister Hiyyih - and it became so popular that Kai began to gain profit from it. Taehyun was his first investor and the biggest shareholder of his little gaming company, and since then they have been working together.
Recently, Kai had come up with the idea of inducing VR - Virtual Reality - to the game, where players of Utopia can have a more surreal gaming experience. Taehyun had flown to Japan to attend a techshow to know more about it, before he received the call about Y/n.
“That’s not the only problem,” Kai added carefully, watching the frown deepen on Taehyun’s face. “This might sound crazy, but yesterday, when I was trying out the VR version, there was something… weird.”
“What do you mean, ‘weird’?” Taehyun repeated. Kai breathed in deeply.
“You remember the beta version of the villainess route, the one we accidentally released but called back?”
“Yes.” Taehyun remembered, vividly. Kai was spamming his phone with texts and panicking while the rest of his employees tried their best to salvage the situation. Luckily, only one user was able to update the game fully, and they have been trying to contact that player. “It’s about Player 1117, right? Have you found them?”
“No.” Kai shook his head. “But, the thing is, while I was loading the game up to the beta version in the studio, there were some… really weird changes.”
Taehyun raised a brow. “What changes?”
“Remember Y/n, like, the villainess of the game?”
Taehyun almost laughed at that. Yes, he remembered suggesting the name to Kai because he and Y/n had a little squabble, and Taehyun was feeling petty at that time. “Yeah, what about her?”
“She was originally supposed to attend the Magic Academy, right?” Kai questioned, taking out his own phone and tapping away. He then showed the screen to Taehyun. “I was just trying to load the game back, but I just kept failing. When I was going through the cutscene of Y/n’s backstory, it said that she had a big quarrel with her brother about attending the Magic Tower instead of the Magic Academy, so she ran away and left Eternity on her own.”
“How did that happen?” Taehyun grabbed Kai’s phone. On the screen, a picture of a dark haired girl disguised as a young male teenager sitting at an inn, listening to the conversations others were having. Taehyun had not remembered any of their artists showing a storyboard like that in any of their team meetings.
“That’s not the only weird part.” Kai said, taking his phone back. “Remember the villainess was supposed to be powerless?” He paused, waiting for Taehyun to react. “Well, it is said that she developed an ability.”
“What is it?”
“She can turn into an animal at will. More precisely, she can turn into an owl.”

back to masterlist?

"She will."
