Wooow, Beomgyu's instinct is really sharp if it is about his little sisterđŸ«Ą

I bet San's will take full advantage of the deal with Star😂. One lesson from this chapter is, don't ever say anything when making a deal with a madman because it will bite you in the futuređŸ„čđŸ„č

[player 1117] 0009a Plan To Escape

The darkness enveloped you like a heavy shroud, leaving you adrift in a sea of nothingness. Time lost its meaning, and you found yourself trapped in a hazy dreamscape, disoriented and detached from reality.

Every sound echoed with an eerie clarity, from the distant footsteps outside your door to the faint chirping of birds beyond the window. Despite the attempts to bring you sustenance, you refused to eat, your silence a feeble protest against the circumstances imposed upon you.

When the door creaked open once more, you tensed, bracing yourself for another intrusion into your isolated world. A gentle presence settled on the bed beside you, and you recoiled instinctively, turning away from the intrusion.

"Greetings to the Star of Eternity. May peace be ever in your grace," a voice, unfamiliar yet strangely soothing, broke through the silence. You furrowed your brow, sensing the difference in tone from your usual visitor. The stranger's touch was cool against your skin as he took your hand, his lips brushing softly against it in a gesture of reverence.

"I apologize for the late visit, but his Highness was adamant about your safety," the stranger quipped, his words laced with insincerity.

"Be damned to his safety," you muttered bitterly, the weight of your defiance palpable in the air. A chuckle rumbled from the stranger's throat at your retort, his presence strangely comforting despite the circumstances.

"Why are you here, General San?" you questioned, your voice tinged with curiosity and a hint of suspicion.

San met your lifeless gaze with unwavering intensity, his expression unreadable as he licked his lips nervously. Slowly, almost hesitantly, he lowered his head to rest on your lap, his touch sending a shiver down your spine. You stiffened at the unexpected gesture, your muscles tensing as he gently guided your hands to cradle his head.

San removed your bracelet, his fingers dancing lightly over your hand, his touch sending a shiver down your spine as he questioned you with a playful tone. Your heart raced with uncertainty, unsure of what his true intentions were in this unexpected encounter.

"How did you know it was me, your Highness?" San's voice held a mischievous edge, his gaze locking with yours as if daring you to challenge him. You swallowed nervously, trying to mask the fear that threatened to consume you.

Drawing upon your wits, you recalled San's reputation as the unpredictable joker in Utopia. His unpredictability could be both a blessing and a curse, but in this moment, you saw a glimmer of hope. If you could appeal to his sense of mischief, perhaps you could persuade him to assist you in escaping this nightmare.

"If you were stuck in darkness for a long time, your hearing gets better," you replied, your voice steady despite the unease swirling within you. It was a calculated risk, hoping to appeal to San's penchant for games and unpredictability.

As you awaited his response, a sense of apprehension washed over you, unsure of how he would react to your attempt to outwit him. But in the darkness that surrounded you, you clung to the hope that maybe, just maybe, San would prove to be your unexpected ally in this desperate bid for freedom.

"Interesting," San hummed, his voice laced with intrigue as he released your hand, his gaze lingering on you with a mixture of curiosity and something darker. You couldn't help but feel a shiver run down your spine at the intensity of his scrutiny, the darkness of the room amplifying the tension between you.

As he drew closer, his breath mingled with yours, and you caught a faint whiff of milk, an unexpected detail that sent a ripple of unease through you. His words, though casual in tone, carried a veiled threat, and you braced yourself for whatever twisted game he had in store.

"You seem like you've accepted your fate, your Highness," he taunted, his fingers curling around your chin as he pulled your face closer to his. The proximity sent a jolt of fear coursing through you, but you refused to show any weakness in the face of his intimidation.

"I've always wondered why Jongho is so infatuated with you, staying by your side willingly," San continued, his words dripping with malice as he probed at your vulnerabilities. You resisted the urge to flinch, steeling yourself against his manipulative tactics.

"I do not have the answer to that, General," you replied, mustering a smile despite the unease that gnawed at your insides. Your hands clenched into fists by your side, a silent testament to the tension that hung heavy in the air between you and San. Despite his casual demeanor, you couldn't shake the feeling that there was something dangerous lurking beneath the surface of his playful facade.

San had intruded upon your solitude, laying his head on your lap as though the two of you were old acquaintances, when in reality, this was only the third time you had encountered each other. Nevertheless, you maintained a facade of composure, refusing to let him see the fear that churned within you.

"And I would like to propose something," you continued, your voice steady despite the turmoil that churned within you.

"Oh?" San's interest was piqued, his gaze fixed on you with a mixture of curiosity and anticipation. "What would the Star like to do?"

"I want to get out of this place, and you are the only person who could help me," you stated, choosing your words carefully to convey both your desperation and your recognition of San's potential role in your escape. By using the word "could," you made it clear that your fate rested in his hands, whether he liked it or not.

“That made me sound important, doesn’t it? That I am your only chance at escaping” San sounded amused. You feel his gaze on your face, and for a while you stayed in that position. Then San spoke softly. “What are you willing to exchange for your freedom, Star?”

Your heart pounds in your chest as you consider San's question, knowing that any bargain you strike could have dire consequences. But you also recognize that this may be your only chance at freedom.

"I... I will do whatever it takes," you reply, your voice trembling slightly. "I will give you anything you desire, if it means escaping this place."

San's gaze softens as he studies you, a hint of something unreadable flickering in his eyes. "Anything?" he echoes, his tone laced with curiosity.

You nod firmly, steeling yourself for whatever he may ask of you. "Yes, anything."

A slow smile spreads across San's lips, and you can't shake the feeling that you've just made a deal with the devil. But in this moment, with the promise of freedom dangling tantalizingly before you, you're willing to pay whatever price San demands.

"Understood." The pressure on your lap lifted as San. "“I shall help you leave this place, Princess," he declared, his voice carrying a distant tone. "Remember, you pledged anything in exchange for your freedom."

With a nod, you acknowledged his words, your fingers clutching the blanket's edge tightly. Recalling your experiences from the game, you were well aware of San's reputation for keeping his word, driving your determination to stay in his favor.

"Remember to eat, Princess," San reminded you before departing. The significance of his parting words lingered in the air, prompting you to wonder if they held a deeper meaning.

As San closed the door behind him he toyed with the rubied bracelet in his hand. The lingering softness of your skin was a tantalizing memory, and a playful smirk danced across his face.

"You seemed like you had fun." Wooyoung materialized beside San, his eyes immediately drawn to the bracelet on his hand. "Why did you take that out? Hongjoong hyung is going to throw a fit if he finds out."

San waved off the concern with a dismissive flick of his hand, a smirk playing on his lips. "Relax, Wooyoung. He doesn't know now, and he won't find out from you."

Wooyoung chewed on his lower lip, his playful demeanor faltering for a moment. "But what if I told him?"

San chuckled, his confidence unwavering as they strolled down the extravagant corridor of the palace of Mist. "You won't," he said. "Anyway, I heard that the Temple is sending a priest here?"

Wooyoung's attention shifted abruptly at the change in subject. "Yeah. You should have seen Yuyu's face when he told Hongjoong hyung." He giggled. "Apparently it's that Priest Kang that's coming for a visit. The Temple apparently disapproves of the marriage between the Star and hyung."

San's eyebrows lifted in interest. "Priest Kang? That's unexpected. Do you think there'll be trouble?" Wooyoung shrugged, a mischievous glint returning to his eyes. "Who knows? But it'll definitely stir things up around here. And you know how much we love a bit of drama." He nudged San with his elbow cheekily. "That reminds me, Jongho sent a letter back from Eternity, he said everything is going smoothly and no one raised suspicions yet. Well, except for the Eclipse."

The mention of the Eclipse, Choi Beomgyu, brought a crease between San's brows. "I see. Did his Highness say anything about that?" he asked.

Wooyoung shook his head. "Not much. Just that Beomgyu's inquiries have been... persistent. But Jongho assured us he's handling it discreetly."

The pair reached the end of the corridor. San threw the ruby bracelet casually inside the decorative plant as Wooyoung tapped his fingers rhythmically on one of the tiles on the wall. Once he was done, the wall quickly shifted, revealing a hidden passageway.

"After you, Sannie," Wooyoung said with a playful grin, gesturing for San to go through first. San nodded in acknowledgment, stepping into the concealed passage with a sense of familiarity. The corridor led them deeper into the heart of the palace until they reached a heavy oak door, its surface etched with intricate designs.

With a gentle push, the door creaked open, revealing a vast chamber bathed in soft, golden light. Shelves lined the walls from floor to ceiling, filled with ancient tomes and leather-bound volumes. The air was heavy with the scent of parchment and dust, and the only sound was the faint rustling of pages. A figure sat upon one of the rich leather chairs, his head barely looking up as he spoke. "Done seeing the Princess?"

"Ah, Yeosang." Wooyoung ran over to the said male, dropping right beside him. "I didn't get to see her, Sannie did."

Yeosang, with his sharp features and calm demeanor, finally lifted his gaze from the book he was reading. His eyes, a piercing shade of amber, flickered with amusement as he regarded San. "How is she?"

"Well, blind." San shrugged. His thoughts went back to when he was toying with her hand. "And soft. Very soft."

Yeosang raised an eyebrow, his interest piqued. "She's not like the other toys, San," he reminded, closing his book. San rolled his eyes. "I know that, Heir of the South. Now if you excuse me," he gave a mock bow before hurrying through the exit.

Yeosang watched San's departure with a thoughtful expression, his mind already spinning with possibilities. He glanced over at Wooyoung, who shrugged helplessly.

"Don't look at me, I have no idea what happened," Wooyoung said, his tone laced with amusement. Yeosang merely hummed, before opening his book again.

you and wonwoo had an arranged marriage 4 years ago. Coming from chaebol families, you both knew you weren’t likely to have a choice in who you’d spend the rest of your life married to.

wonwoo had been a recurring character in your childhood, not as a friend but as an
acquaintance which sounds slightly too generous. But then his parents had shipped him off to a boarding school in America where he stayed for the next 8 years.

Of course you had forgotten about him. You didn’t even remember much of him when he was around.

You remember when you were reunited with him once again. Your parents had told you the day after your 24th birthday that you were going to be marrying the eldest jeon son- wonwoo and you were all going to have a big family dinner that very night.

You didn’t put up a fight, just sighed and walked away to mentally prepare yourself for this hell of a dinner.

You certainly hadn’t been expecting to walk into your living room a few hours later to the most handsome man you’d ever laid eyes on. You paused, he paused, all eyes were on the both of you. You had pulled yourself together as quickly as possible, reaching out to shake his hand as his mother reintroduced you to Wonwoo 10 years later.

The two of you escaped the family dinner to walk around your family’s estate. Wonwoo shared with you that he had been dating someone for almost 3 years up until last month and was positive his parents were behind him losing who he considered to be the love of your life. He confesses that he while he had been expecting an arranged marriage, he didn’t think it would be at the expense of someone he had shared so much of himself with. You’re indifferent- you never really seriously dated because you knew the choice wasn’t yours anyway but you find your heart breaking as you hear wonwoo admit his heart is still with someone else. You thought you’d at least be able to have the chance to actually fall in love with your arranged partner but that doesn’t seem like it’s going to be the case.

You avoid Wonwoo like the plague after that, only seeing him for wedding preparations. It’s not like he’s dying to see you either so you don’t feel guilty about not trying to build a relationship with him.

The week of the wedding was just a blur. You didn’t care about any of it. You were upset that you were going to have to see Wonwoo almost everyday. If he noticed you were being cold, he didn’t say anything. The day of the wedding was also a blur. Your mother attached your veil to your hair and looked at your stone cold face in the mirror. “You’ll make a good wife.”

You finally understood why you’d been so
angry. You weren’t just upset that Wonwoo had experienced a love deep enough to alter his life, you were upset that you were being molded into a wife all these years. Your parents were using you as a way to grow their business profits. They didn’t care about any of your ambitions- just that you were trained to be a pretty little wife for some other chaebol son. They didn’t care about the 4 years of research you had done in your school’s biochemistry department. They didn’t care that you graduated top of your class in college. They didn’t care about your goals and ambitions as long as it didn’t interfere with your marital duties.

You were furious but you took one look at yourself in the mirror and felt your heart break as you realized you were about to give up one of the most important choices you had the ability to make.

You and wonwoo said your vows, briefly kissed, walked hand in hand out of the ceremony and then dropped hands, parting until the banquet dinner later that night. You hardly spoke at that banquet either, wanting nothing more than to just be alone.

You’re disrupted from your thoughts by the sound of your phone ringing. It’s your son Jae’s school calling. You quickly pick up afraid something has happened. “Hi Mrs. Jeon, we’re just calling to remind you and your husband that it’s parent student day tomorrow and we’d love your presence around 3pm.” You reassure her you’ll be there, jotting down in your notepad a reminder.

While Wonwoo has been a good father, you know how busy he is and don’t bother telling him about this event. He’s not as involved as you are with your son’s school activities so you figure he wouldn’t mind anyway.

That night, you get into bed, wonwoo’s side empty like it usually is as he likes to stay at work late at night doing who knows what. You honestly wouldn’t be surprised if you found out he was having an affair.

You fall asleep before he gets back.

When you wake up the next morning, you’re surprised to see Wonwoo’s bare back facing you. You usually went to bed before he came back home and woke up after he had left so seeing him still asleep was a rightful shock to you. Careful not to wake him, you slip out of bed to go wake up Jae. You carry your little almost 4 year old to your bedroom so he can play while you get ready like you typically do every morning. Jae runs ahead of you as you swiftly turn around to pick up some of the toys scattered around his room.

“Daddy!!”

You walk back to your room to find Jae in Wonwoo’s arms- your husband sitting up in your bed with tousled hair and glasses on. And still shirtless.

Your heart swells at the domesticity in front of you. This is everything you’ve ever wanted- Wonwoo being around Jae more often than he was right now.

“Mommy come in for a big hug!” Jae yells. You hesitate.

You and Wonwoo aren’t exactly affectionate. You don’t regularly kiss or hug or hold hands unless you need to put up your married front in public. You haven’t had sex in probably months- not that you guys were fooling around much in the first place after Jae was born. You approach your husband and son, leaning over Wonwoo’s chest to peck Jae’s cheek. Jae puts his arm around your neck while holding on tightly to Wonwoo’s shoulder trying to squish the two of you together. You feel Wonwoo’s arm snake around your waist and you appease Jae by putting your arm around Wonwoo’s very wide
 and broad
 shoulders.

You end up in the bathroom with Wonwoo as you both start getting ready at the same time. You’re still thinking about the hug, deep in thought as Wonwoo approaches you and leans against the counter right next to you watching your face as you finish brushing your teeth.

“Can your parents take Jae this weekend?”

“I can ask. Why? Am I forgetting something” you panic trying to rack your brain for any important dates coming up.

“It’s our 5 year anniversary. Let’s do something this weekend.”

You pause. The two of you have never celebrated your wedding anniversary. Jae was born a couple months after your first anniversary as Wonwoo was determined to get you pregnant as soon as possible after your marriage so his parents would stop bothering him about a grandchild.

“Uh. Do what?”

“My parents think we should have another kid.”

So that’s what this was about. Wonwoo had to fulfill his obligations to his parents by pumping you full of his cum until you became pregnant. Again. Not saying that you hadn’t enjoyed it the first time. While Wonwoo was in fact appeasing his parents’ wishes, he was still very great in bed, with his dominant side taking over in ways you’ve never really seen outside the bedroom.

You roll your eyes.

“Until you actually pay attention to the child we have now, we’re not going even to talk about having another child.”

You turn around to walk out of the bathroom but Wonwoo moves quickly, grabbing your wrist and shutting the door. He cages you against the counter and grabs both of your wrists as you try pushing him away.

“Let go Wonwoo! You know I’m right. You’re not around for breakfast or dinner. You don’t drop Jae off and you don’t go to any of his school’s events so don’t even pretend like you have any say in whether or not we have another child.”

Wonwoo drops your wrists and was quiet.

He knew you were right.

Wonwoo had been so excited the day Jae was born. He cried silent tears when his child was placed into his arms for the first time. Around Jae’s first birthday, he quietly got Jae’s birth date tattooed on his ribcage under his heart which you didn’t discover until months later. He didn’t mean to slip away. Work was becoming so demanding all of a sudden and rather than talking to you about it, he had just buried himself in the endless tasks he was being assigned.

He approaches you again this time gently pulling you into a hug.

He whispers apologies in your ear, telling you he’s going to be a better dad. No promises about being a better husband but you suppose you have to choose your battles and Jae is more important.

You don’t hug him back.

-

You leave work around 2:45pm, a meeting running over causing you to haphazardly grab your stuff and go running to your car as soon as it’s over. You reach Jae’s school around 3:30, smoothing out the wrinkles in your outfit before heading inside. You greet Jae’s teacher and search for him amongst all the other kids.

However, your eyes land on a tall suited figure standing next to one of the moms who doesn’t seem to like you much whenever you talk to her. You watch as the mom touches Wonwoo’s arm, getting uncomfortably close. Wonwoo raises his left hand, the shine of his gold wedding band unmissable to her eye. She drops his arm while you slowly approach your husband, confused as to why he’s here.

“Ah, here’s my wife actually! Hi jagiya.” He bends down to kiss your cheek and wraps his arm around your shoulders.

“Y/N, I had no idea you had such a handsome husband” the mom laughs. You force a smile and tell her you’ve been married to Wonwoo for almost 5 years. Her fury is unmistakable as she continues to ogle him when she thinks you aren’t paying attention.

Whatever.

Wonwoo, obviously uncomfortable by her stares, excuses himself to go find Jae, giving you another kiss before leaving you alone with her.

She watches him go which annoys you to no end.

“I’m right here, you know. Hasn’t anyone told you it’s rude to stare at other people’s husbands like that?”

You walk away to go find your husband and son and see a comical sight.

Wonwoo is sitting in a tiny child sized chair, coloring a picture next to Jae. You quietly snap a picture feeling your heart grow bigger as Jae stands up to look at his father’s drawing. He looks up and sees you and waddles up to you as fast as he can.

“Mommy!!!”

You lift Jae up into the air wrapping your arms around him as he begins to ramble on about his day. It’s Wonwoo’s turn to watch you and your son. He stands up to approach the two of you reaching forward to hold Jae’s hand.

Jae’s already so big he thinks. He doesn’t want the years to slip by and realize he’s been a shitty dad. He vows to be better for the both of you.

He’ll make sure he is.

Mermaid ( Seonghwa)

The waves were violently beating down causing the ship to dangerously sway.

The captain of the ship Seonghwa stood his ground regardless of the violent downpour of the storm ahead.

The dense storm clouds letting no light through causing everything around him to turn pitch black only occasionally being illuminated by thunder.

There was no way to sail around the storm the only way was to sail right through it.

The waves crashing creating a deafening sing song which only subdued to Seonghwas fervent commands to his crew.

He knew that it was a loosing battle but he couldn't give up without a fight.

You watched from afar as he did everything in his power to keep the ship afloat.

You had been warned about humans many times.

Every night your grandmother would tell you stories of how the brave merfolk were forced to go into hiding because of humans.

She told you of the greed of man and how they would kidnap mermaids to kill them and harvest their innards.

This being the first time seeing a human in the flesh you were intrigued and the human in front of you seemed so unyielding and strong willed.

You kept your distance and watched but you knew he could never win over the wrath of the sea and he was to ultimately die at the hands of the ocean.

You could save him but what was in it for you.

You watched as a huge wave engulfed the ship consuming it and everyone on board.

Startling you, against your better judgement you swim towards the wreck trying to save the man that had captured your attention.

Holding on to him as you battled the current pulling him out of the torrential grip of the sea.

Bringing him into cave nearby gently resting him onto a moss bed.

You watched as he coughed up water that been filling his lungs.

Desperately gasping for air.

You helped him to his side and watched his body relax as he began to inhale oxygen stinging his lungs bringing him back to life.

Despite being in immense pain he couldn't focus on anything but you until now. He was fixated on the contours of your beautiful face, the way your wet hair clung to your skin the way your tail glimmered in the dim moonlight illuminating the cave.

Why did you even help him.

Mermaids always despised humans even going as far as to cause shipwrecks but here you were staring at him with concern in your eyes.

Examining him to see if any of his wounds were fatal once you were sure that he would survive.

You swiftly jumped back into the water disappearing into the deep blue darkness of the ocean.

Leaving him stunned and alone once again.

He didn't even get to ask know his Angel's name and now you were gone.

As time passed he managed to regain a bit of his strength limping along the coast to find fishermen arriving from an early morning fishing trip waving them down.

For help.

They stared at him as if they had seen a ghost when he told them what happened.

He had told them everything except

One small very important detail "you".

They were surprised he was even alive let alone relatively unscathed.

They let him on the boat once the storm cleared taking him to the nearest port so he could go back home.

Once he was home he managed to buy a new ship.

Sailing as usual once again but he couldn't ever find peace as you tormented his thoughts.

At night he layed in bed eyes wide open thinking of you.

He knew it was unreasonable to even go seeking you but ye couldn't help it you had bewitched him.

He read every single book he could find on sea creatures of the depths ran over multiple navigation and migration paths to pinpoint your exact location.

It took him years and his search for you lead him to slowly spiral into madness a madness caused by obsession that he called love.

He stood letting the cool sea breeze ruffle his air as he stared into the darkness ahead of him when in the corner of his eye he could see a glint of a tail flip through the coast.

There was no doubt in his mind that it was you.

He instructed his men to rev down the engines and sail as quietly to the coast as they could.

He saw you look at him. He knew you recognized him.

You looked at him as if you were reunited with an old friend.

You wondered if he had come back to thank you for saving him.

As you watched his ship sail closer to you awaiting to be greeted by the brave sailor that you once admired.

Seonghwa couldn't care less.

Before you could run away from him once again.

The only thing you saw was a sudden flash of silver come from the sky above as he shot a harpoon sending it right through your tail.

Leaving you immobilized in pain as his men cast a net trapping you. Reeling you on board the ship.

Where you were face to face with him once again.

But this time it wasn't the sweet face of the boy you once saved that greeted you.

He no longer was that boy anymore.

There was no warmth left in his eyes.

There was only a sick sense of pride in his eyes as if he had just won a trophy.

“Hurry up! We’re going to be late if we don’t leave now!”

You roll your eyes as you strap on your shoes. You and Wonwoo are heading to his friend Seungcheol’s wedding. Since Seungcheol wanted everyone to comfortably drink at the wedding without having to worry about driving back, he bought out the whole hotel that the reception was at. Wonwoo had loaded your bags in the car earlier.

You take one last look in the mirror before you walk out to your husband who’s sitting on the couch, tapping his foot impatiently.

“Finall-” He stops and pauses as he takes you in. He suddenly can’t remember anything he was about to say. You look beautiful, he thinks in your wine colored gown with a shoulder cape. It’s like it was made to define your whole body. He can’t bear to think that other people will be looking at you the whole night.

“Let’s go.”

He gets up and walks ahead to the door without saying another word.

You frown. You thought he would at least say something nice about your dress but you suppose you can’t expect much cordiality from your husband who you don’t even share a bedroom with.

You get in the car and take in Wonwoo’s side profile. He looks so sharp in his full black tux with his hair swept to the side. He’s been growing his hair out and even if you won’t admit it out loud, it suits him a lot better than his usual shorter cuts.

Wonwoo drives silently, one hand on the wheel, as he thinks about his conversation with his parents last week.

“Wonwoo, you need to have a child soon. You know how bad it will look if you and y/n don’t have a child within the year. People will talk and it will reflect badly on the company.”

He scoffed at the mere notion of being forced to have a child- a huge responsibility when the two of you weren’t even getting along.

If he was being honest, he was still so full of bitterness from his last relationship with Hana. Together for three years and gone in an instant the day she took his hands in hers and said she couldn’t deal with the chaebol lifestyle and his parents’ continuous nagging. He had tried to protect her from it all but at the end of the day, it was who he was and he wouldn’t be able to keep her away forever. A month later, and he had met you again after many years- in the unpleasant conditions of an arranged marriage. So sue him if he hated you.

He was still a man at the end of the day and was very attracted to you physically even if he hadn’t acted upon it. He noticed your curves underneath your suits and formal wear but it was rare for him to see you like this- all dolled up for the world to see.

He knew he needed to bring up the whole children thing to you sooner rather than later. He figures now may be the right time.

He clears his throat and from the corner of his eye he sees you turn to look at him.

“You know how I went to go see my parents last week?”

You nod, unsure of where this is going.

“They told me we need to be expecting a child by the end of the year.”

You’re silent. Wonwoo turns to look at you but you’re looking straight ahead.

“A child? We’ve been married for only two months.”

Wonwoo stays silent glancing at the GPS as he sees you are nearing the venue. The two of you don’t talk for the rest of the ride.

-

Wonwoo parks then gets out of the driver’s seat, walking over to your side of the door, holding an arm to help you out. As you stand, Wonwoo still towers over you, looking down into your face as you look up. You’re close enough that you can smell his cologne. You place a hand on his arm as you adjust your shoe, an attempt at breaking that oddly intimate eye contact. You almost lose your balance but Wonwoo wraps an arm around your waist.

“Careful.” he says so close to your ear that it sends shivers down your spine.

You walk arm in arm to the venue in silence.

-

Seungcheol was also chaebol as all of Wonwoo’s friends were except he was the younger son so he was able to marry whoever he wanted- chaebol or not. His bride looked gorgeous in her beautifully crafted gown. You watch as Seungcheol’s voice cracks while saying his vows, smiling as he looks at his bride with tears in his eyes. He professes his love for her to everyone in the room and promises to cherish her for as long as he lives. You’re reminded of your own wedding and how you and Wonwoo didn’t even look each other in the eye as you read vows neither of you had written.

-

You sat by the bar sipping your drink as you looked at the reception around you.

“Y/N?”

You turn and see Mingyu, one of Wonwoo’s closest friends approach you.

“Mingyu!”

The two of you hug, relief pouring through your body at the sight of a familiar face.

Wonwoo had gone to the bathroom when you first arrived at the reception and ran into some of his friends so you wandered off and found yourself ordering a drink.

“You look gorgeous as always”

You blush.

“You look handsome as well.”

Mingyu is all suited up in a tux that defines his muscular figure.

“Where’s Wonwoo?”

“He’s somewhere over there” you say as you point in the general direction of where you last saw him.

“Hey, I don’t mean to alarm you but I did hear that his ex Hana is here.”

You pause. You’ve never met Hana and didn’t know her name until just now. All you knew was that Wonwoo was incredibly in love with her. The way he spoke of her saddened you as you knew he would never come to love you in the same way,

You shrug and Mingyu changes the subject. Mingyu is seated at your table so the two of you walk back and catch up on life in general. Mingyu is still a bachelor and tells you that watching his friends get married left and right has stressed him out to no end. He’s hoping to fall in love with a chaebol woman so his parents don’t put him in an arranged marriage as well. It’s during moments like these that you wish you had married someone like Mingyu. He was so kind and empathetic and sensitive and easy to talk to.

After a while, you excuse yourself to go to the restroom and spot Wonwoo talking to someone. As you get closer, you realize this must be his ex, Hana. She’s stunning. She looks up at him like he’s hung the stars in the sky and you can only wonder what Wonwoo’s face is like. He has her hands in his clutching them close. You turn and swiftly run to the restroom.

Wonwoo was still in love with Hana.

And it was because of you that he no longer had a chance with her. You look at yourself in the mirror all decked out in your diamond necklace and earrings with an updo and realize you aren’t happy. You’ve never been in love with anyone and you’re afraid you never will be. You thought that maybe if you spent more time with Wonwoo, the two of you would learn to love each other eventually but things between you had just reached a standstill. You exit the venue to sit outside. The venue was by the beach and the warm air was comforting as you stared into the distance wondering how your life felt so defined by your marriage. And you can’t even think about the kids part Wonwoo had brought up earlier. The two of you haven’t been intimate at all and you weren’t sure you wanted to start now.

You’re so lost in your thoughts, you don’t hear someone approach you and place a hand on your shoulder. You turn around and look up.

It’s Wonwoo.

He takes a seat next to you and stares at the sun setting over the water.

“Hana asked me if I was able to be married to you while seeing her on the side.”

You stay silent, feeling your biggest fears come true.

“She was begging and crying saying she can’t believe she let me go but that my parents had nothing to do with it.”

He pauses before he continues.

“And then she let it slip that she had been unfaithful while we were still together. That’s why she had broken up with me. She couldn’t handle the guilt and figured that time apart would give her the strength to confess.”

He scoffed.

“So I just walked away.”

You turn to look at him and watch as he fiddles with his wedding ring, a habit you’ve noticed.

“I’m sorry.” you say as you place a hand on his shoulder, genuinely meaning it.

He shakes his head, still looking down with a plastic smile on his face.

“Don’t be.”

You sit together and look at the final moments of the sunset before heading back inside.

Wonwoo catches up with his friends who are sitting at your table while you chat with Seokmin’s wife, Ahn.

Soon enough the dancing begins and you hit the dance floor with Ahn laughing as she takes her hand in yours. A slow song comes on and Seokmin interrupts to ask Ahn to dance. You gladly step away and head to the bar to get some water. You look around with sad eyes as everyone slow dances intimately with their partners. You hand your glass back to the bartender and begin walking back to your table to sit when you feel hands around your waist, leading you back to the dance floor. The hands turn you around and you come face to face with Wonwoo. You rest one hand on his shoulder while your other hands find each other. He buries his face in your neck, making you still with this new intimate display of affection in public.

“You look beautiful tonight, I’m sorry I didn’t say anything earlier.” He says in your ear.

He lifts his head up to look at you in the eyes and you catch an unfamiliar glint in his eyes.

-

You and Wonwoo head up to your hotel room, Wonwoo carrying both your bags. You head to the bathroom to take off your makeup then begin taking down your hair, already thinking about how you’ll have to share a bed with Wonwoo. He enters the bathroom, suit jacket off, and his shirt completely unbuttoned. He comes up behind you and quietly helps you take the rest of the bobby pins out of your hair. Your hair cascades over your shoulders. Wonwoo rests his hands on your waist as he stares at the two of you in the mirror.

“We can’t avoid this” he whispers in your ear.

You know. You know.

It’s your final duty to your parents.

Wonwoo unzips your dress, turning you around as he leans in to kiss you with one hand on the back of your head. You place your hands on his chest as he drags you out of the bathroom and all but tosses you onto the bed. He removes his unbuttoned shirt and takes your dress off. You’re both breathing heavily as he pulls you up so he can remove your bra. You use your arms to cover yourself as he tangles his hands in your hair and neck to kiss you again, towering over your form sitting on the edge of the bed. The kiss gets messy as he forces your mouth open with his tongue. He shoves you back down on the bed and maintains eye contact with you as he unclasps his belt, tossing it to the side. Next, his pants come off leaving him in just his boxers that do a poor job at hiding his rather big erection.

He lays down on top of you, hands on either side of your head as he kisses down your body. He removes your underwear, his underwear until you’re both completely naked, just looking into each other’s eyes not knowing how things will change after this. After making you come on his fingers twice, he fully enters you in slow thrusts. His mind is fuzzy especially because taking you raw feels so much better than any sex he’s ever had before. He increases the pace, ramming into you rapidly over and over until your eyes rolls to the back of your head. You grip his hands as your ride out your high, Wonwoo collapsing on top of you as he comes inside you. Your hands move to touch the hair at the back of his neck, moaning in his ear as you feel endless ropes of his cum fill you up. He stays inside you as you both catch your breath. He can feel you dripping down his dick and suddenly he’s twitching back to life. You go for two more rounds, your body completely spent as he finally pulls out. He watches your combined cum drip from your opening, feeling his dick twitch yet again. He knew you were in no state to continue so he simply fingered everything back inside before heading to the bathroom to clean you up. He doesn’t bother putting any clothes on and also leaves you bare, watching as your eyes flutter closed against the pillow. He traces a finger on your cheek and covers you in the soft blankets. He lays down on his back, arm behind his head, processing that you two have just had sex for the first time as a married couple.

He had liked it.

Very much.

You were very responsive and so pliant and he feels himself getting hard as he thinks about what else he can do to you when you wake up. He turns off the lamp and gets under the covers, pulling your warm body on top of his.
