"oh Arti" a text bubble reads on the first panel, being spoken by someone outside of the image. Someone's bloody hands cup his face, and he leans into it with a somber expression. Arthur has messy hair and a stubble, with dark eyes. the second pannel has no text, and shows that the speaker in the last panel, and the one who was holding Arthur's face, is Kayne. he is smiling, and has long black hair tucked behind long elvish ears. he is wearing a tailcoat suit with a cravat rather than a tie. text above panel 3 reads "you want him back" the third pannel is a close up of Arthur's eyes. he's crying and looking to the side. text below the panel reads "don't you?" fourth panel is Kayne speaking "Well that can be arranged Blondie" he is holding up a bloody, clawed hand to guesture casually. in the fifth panel there's a close up of an upset Arthur's snarl "I don't" he says "that bastard can deal with Hasur by himself." the sixth is panel is Kayne again, looking pleasantly surprised. "oh?" he says "then what do you want?" the seventh panel shadow the text "I want you to teach me to play the keys." in front of a backdrop with piano keys forming a spiral going down. Kayne bends down in the eighth panel, offering his hand. "prove yourself to me and I will. take my hand, will you?" panel nine shows Arthur taking Kayne's hand. a darkness surrounds the image ominously. there is panel to the side, which is the tenth panel. you would have to flip your device your tilt your head in order to properly read it. Kayne and Arthur exit a crack in space into a new universe, holding hands with Kayne leading Arthur, who is holding the dagger given by Kayne in Carcosa. "Go ahead Arthur" Kayne says "Kill him." the panel moves past them, growing lighter, less warped and twisted by pain, to light, untouched and pure. they seem to be in a house, and theres a portrait, with a smiling Arthur and his wife. their eyes are scribbled out. the panel keeps going to show Arthur's target. a smiling, joyous, and happy Arthur, well kempt and untouched by the horrors, playing the piano to Feroe, who's back is facing the reader, but she seems to be shouting in joy. Arthur is wearing suspenders, and faroe is wearing a dress, and has wild fluffy hair in ringlets.

Little au concept:

What if in one of the different universes, Kayne explained more about his abilities when he first met Arthur, just to see what would happen. In this universe, john was the one who suggested that if things don’t work out Arthur would die and they would work things out in the dark world, In this universe John was the one with the knife, and in this universe, Arthur disagreed with John’s backup plan. When John drove the knife into Arthur’s neck Arthur felt betrayed despite living, and Kayne, after having so many similar conversations, assumes Arthur would want John back, and is surprised when he stands corrected.

Arthur decides that he’s sick of the world, sick of being betrayed by John and sick of himself, so he asks Kayne to help him do the same think Kayne once did. Kayne, intrigued and curious on what would happen if a mortal did so, agrees so long as Arthur can stomach the worst of it, so he takes Arthur to a universe where Arthur is happy. Sure he still experienced loss, not Faroe is alive and his pride and joy, where Arthur’s absence would be felt and hurt the person to whom he holds most of his regrets.

Sometimes You Just Have To Render A Particularly Nice Panel In A Comic Where A Character Looks Especially

Sometimes you just have to render a particularly nice panel in a comic where a character look’s especially pretty. There’s another one on the last page I want to render too but this one was a lot less difficult and didn’t have any perspective hubjub, so I did the one first and might do the other one if I’m feeling it.

Sometimes You Just Have To Render A Particularly Nice Panel In A Comic Where A Character Looks Especially

Panel I picked

panel 1: Arthur is standing against a black background. a text bubble spoken by Kayne, who is not in the panel, reads "I'm sure I don't need to tell you who they are, but know that they are smiling and laughing, happy even." panel 2: entirely text spoken by Kayne. it reads "kill him right here right now, don't say a word, and I will help you." 3rd panel: Kayne is speaking, looking off to the side somewhere as he does. "good luck, Arthur". panel 4: Kayne disappears, and the motion marks made to indicate that's look vaguely like an eye. panel 5: the black background fades into white as Arthur moves forward through the hallway, and music fills the air. he holds the dagger close to his side. panel 5: Arthur's alternate universe self, who will be referred to as Arthur 2 for convenience sake, has his back turned to the reader and is playing the keys of an upright Piano next to Faroe, who is tugging at his sleeve to get his attention. panel 6: Arthur 2 stops playing the piano and turns to see what Faroe wants. she points in the direction of the reader/Arthur 1. panel 7: it's a split panel which shows Arthur 2's eyes. Arthur 2's eye is wide and shocked, while arthur 1 is looking forward with unfocused, pained eyes which are tearing up. arthur 1 has a scar on the bridge of his nose while arthur 2 is unblemished and still knows comfort. panel 8: arthur 2 stands now, putting himself between Faroe and arthur 1, looking worried and unsure. "who are you? he asks "how did you get here?" panel 9: Arthur 1 stands, shrouded in darkness. he is angled so that the dagger is hidden, but it pokes out slightly. he is silent and doesn't answer, instead he seems to be hesitating and having second thoughts towards his task. panel 10: a close up of the dagger, the edges of the panel are more pointed to indicate alarm and action. panel 11: Arthur 1 bolts forward, face obscured by darkness. the shadow he leaves behind him is stark and thick. panel 12: the silhouette of Arthur 1 stabbing Arthur 2. 1's hand is on 2's shoulder while the other hand is pushing the dagger into his gut. 2 has a hand on Arthur as if he was about to try and push 1 away. Faroe stands behind 2. panel 13: Arthur 2's eyes become lifeless and dead.

Had The Sudden Urge To Draw Kayne. The Bastard Who Likes To Cause Problems On Purpose. Im Using Bastard

Had the sudden urge to draw Kayne. The bastard who likes to cause problems on purpose. I’m using bastard semi affectionately. This guy unsettles me to an incredible degree. Harlan did such a good job at making a character goofy, but also making them a very real threat.

So, I just had this random thought about Kayne while taking my meds.

Kayne definitely chews pills that are only meant to be swallowed. He would probably like the gel capsules the best because they pop and splatter. 😖

I think one of Kayne’s nicknames should be “Di-John Mustard”.

Ok but honestly why did that snake mfer (the Nine-Headed Demon) in LMK have such Kayne Malevolent energy?? Like with the snaps and everything?? Needing someone else to do a thing for your plan to work?? Chaos?? Hello??

okay okay okay I know for sure I’m doing Judgement for Noel, The Tower for Kayne, and The World for Faroe- I picked out Strength for the Butcher and The Devil for KIY, but I was less sure about those two, so lmk what you think or if you have other ideas !!!!!

Hello! Holy shit, that’s pretty much perfect right there!!

I also immediately slotted Kayne as Tower. Like, come on. Look at him.

I LOVE Strength as the Butcher so much actually. Balance of mind and heart? Mastery? Passion? Yes.

Faroe you could do as either The World or The Fool depending on how you want to swing it! Whether you want to look at it as an end to Arthur’s normalcy or a beginning to this whole new world and era you’ve been opened up to.

King in Yellow as The Devil? 100%. That raging passion. Being your own worst enemy? Having parts of you that are “defective”? Yeah, that’s him :]

I’ll end up doing another Malevolent as Tarot where I go more in depth but I LOVE THIS!

I hate that from audio cues we know that Elias wears heels and Kayne is barefoot.

What do I do with this information?

Hey, you! Yes, you! Go relisten to MAG118 - Masquerade! Right when Elias walks away from the door, you can hear he’s in heels.

✨Short king Elias Bouchard, my beloved✨

*puts on my Religion Major hat*

I absolutely see your vision and I laughed so hard when I read that reply. I think a lot of us have a really indoctrinated view of The Book of Job from preachers/priests that really do mean well but aren’t really pedaling the originally intended message of the story (the messages we have now aren’t anything to sneeze at. It’s beautiful how religion adapts over time).

Anyway, the parallels are KINDA WHACK WHEN YOU THINK ABOUT IT! While Arthur certainly did not have the ideal life like Job did at first, there definitely is that message of earth shattering sudden change as a part of a deal with deities of much higher status than mortals. It’s interesting to think about!

arkayne is so fascinating to me because it's such a crackship but it's also like. what if a god was obsessed with seeing you reach your limit. what if you were the only mortal that stood out to him and neither of you understand why. what if he spent time watching your life so he could understand only to come up empty and now he's waiting to mess with you until you break.

I Like How Youre Thinking, Vee.

I like how you’re thinking, Vee.

I propose that Kayne’s “Spain Maybe” is just him sending Noel to one of these universes.

combine your first real fandom with your current one to create a terrible, terrible au
