I noticed you posts about various ships and it just made me want to just share a plot I had cause I love it. So basically we have Bakugou who has a huge crush on denki but refuses to believe it or do anything about it , and along side that we also have Shinsou pinning over denki. So Bakugou acts like a really protective friend and is always saying how Shinsou isn't good enough for denki, because he believes that no one is good enough and 2 he's jealous that denki has started to take a liking to Shinsou. And the rest of the bakusqaud is like " bakugo your acting like an over protective brother" and he hates that ,because he likes denki and he just got siblings zoned by people who aren't denki. Anyways thanks for reading this

I love this so much, poor bakugou though 😔. I would love to know how denki feels for baku and how he interprets bakugou's protectiveness (I hope that makes sense)

Bakugou doesn't know how or when he developed feelings for the electric blonde in his class but he knew that they were there and they were strong and he hated those feelings. What he hated more was that the rest of his class seemed to like Denki too, not romantically like him, but they still touched him more than Bakugou thought was appropriate for friends. So without noticing he started becoming more protective of Denki, but it didn't go unnoticed by his classmates. Even though he was protective of the Stun Gun Hero, he still treated him worse than the others in his friend group and he had his reasons. Bakugou thought ahead of time, he thought that as a pro hero he won’t have time to love someone. At first, he tried to get rid of his feelings for Denki, but it was harder than he thought and so he moved on to plan b, make Denki hate him. Well, he didn’t necessarily want Denki to hate him just not to fall in love with him or anybody else. It worked for the most part, except for the fact that every insult he threw at Denki hurt him because it obviously hurt Denki, even if Denki played it off bakugou always saw the split second of hurt on Denki’s face, but it was for his good, at least that’s what he told himself. Bakugou had another problem, it was purple and always around Denki, and it wasn’t Mineta, it was Hitoshi Shinsou the bastard that replaced the purple perv.

Bakugou’s POV

I was in a decent mood, then was spammed by the group chat from my classmates. Apparently, Mina and Momo wanted to throw a party for the new purple student. I normally wouldn’t be caught dead at a party but I don’t trust the brainwashing bastard, I've seen him around Denki, and everything he does infuriates me. His tired eyes and eyebags almost disappear when he’s with Denki, his checks are too pink when Denki gave him the slightest compliment. What gave eyebags the idea that he was worthy of Denkis affection, I'm not worthy of his love than nobody is. I have to be there to prevent him and any other extras from being with Denki. God knows that now that the purple extra lives in their dorms and goes to their class, that he’s gonna try harder to be with Denki, and this party is gonna decided where he lands in the class, and I have a sneaking suspicion that the rest of the "Bakusquad" thinks that he should be apart of our group. First, they forced their friendship on me, then they started to call it the "Bakusquad" even though I threatened to blow their faces off, and even though they forced that name, my name, I still make zero decisions about who is allowed in the group, I mean I should have a veto or some shit if it’s named after me. As much as I wished I was wrong, God doesn’t like me so of course when I walk out of the slow-ass elevator, theirs the fucker flirting with Denki, I had to decide whether to barf or to scare the bastard off. I approach the two Denkis back is facing me but I know the brainwasher can see me when I’m close enough to hear them the purple bastard makes eye contact with me and then I heard his fucking voice

"you’re a mess Kaminari" 

break eye contact he lifted his hand and wiped something off Denkis face, It disgusteing he could have used a fucking napkin it’s right there on his plate, but now he wanted the skin-to-skin contact, even if it so small, what selfish bastard. I was broke from my rant by Denki's laugh. I hate that sound, unless it’s for me then it’s almost as disgusting as eyebag’s voice. While he’s laughing Denki just makes the situation worse

"How many times have I told you to call me Denki"

I don’t care how much Denki wants the bitch  to call him by his first name it’s not happening on my watch. I sped up so I was behind Denki before the purple-brained idiot could react.

Denki’s POV

I look at my phone to see if Bakugou is gonna come down for the party, I know he doesn’t like socializing but it could be fun especially if he gets down here. While typing out another text to send Bakugou I'm interrupted by somebody.

"What are you doing on your phone, is my party too boring for you?" 

Hitoshi Shinsou's voice is even and sounds serious but I know he was joking. I've noticed that he seems to be more relaxed around me than the others. I hope I can make him less anxious about my friends.

"You know that’s not it, I was just checking to see if Bakubro was gonna show."

after I finish talking I take a bite of cake, I watch as Shinsou rolls his eyes and replays in the same voice as always

"I could care less about that jerk, especially if you’re here with me."

I’ve been told that I'm terrible at picking up signals, I always think people are flirting with me, unless they are flirting then I think they aren’t. So is Hitoshi Shinsou, the guy who is just my type, flirting with me, no no no it isn’t possible, but what if he is? I choke up on my cake from the possible flirting, Shinsou gives a short chuckle, that makes me blush more.

"You’re a mess Kaminari."

I know I am --- wait what is my hand doing oh calm down he's just going to touch my face, just breathe it’s normal. Trying to breathe normal fails and I let down a nervous laugh, I don’t want him to think I'm  nervous so I pretend its a normal laugh, ok I can play this off

"How many times have I told you to call me Denki?"

I watch Shinsou’s face shift into a more intense scowl than his everyday tired scowl. At the same time, I start to feel protected, not that I need it but it felt nice. I don’t need to turn around to know that it’s Bakugou, he seems to like to protect me, probably because I'm a part of the Bakusquad, I kind of wish it was more personal than just being in the same friend group but hey what can you do.

Shinsou’s POV

Kaminari joked I could tell he was trying to hide his nervous laugh and flushed face. Ignoring Kaminari Bakugou speaks up

I don’t remember thinking about making eye contact with Mr.Blasty boy, I guess it’s like an instinct now, to piss him off, but he deserves it, if he’s gonna treat me like a threat I’ll be a threat. I would like to say that I wiped the frosting off Kaminaris’s face because I wanted to help him but I know that it was also to piss off Bakugou. I just enjoyed his face twist in disgust, his pace sped up to get to us faster, I said it already but he deserves it. When he’s finally behind Kaminari I watch as he tilts his head to make him look taller and scarier, but it won’t work on me. I take a step closer to Denki while staring down Bakugou!

" Wow, sandwiched between two guys I thought this only happened in my dreams?"

"What are you doing talking to Dunceface?"

Dunceface, I've heard Bakugou call him that a few times, and I saw that way Kaminaris eyes lost any positive emotion when he heard that name. It infuriated me, why was he so protective of Kaminari but also calls him names like Dunceface, it didn’t make sense

"I’m enjoying my party, and trying to raise Kaminari’s confidence."

I know what I saw is straight forward but that’s how I am, especially with Kaminari. Kaminari was kind, cute, fun and though I would have to argue with many for this next one, I know he's smart. He's a catch and I know others have and will fall for him so I want to make him mine sooner than later.

"What’s that suppose to mean?"

Bakugou knew the answer yet he still acts as if he doesn’t

"For someone who calls others stupid, you seem to need everything spelled out for you. You.Make.Him.Insecure."

With my feet planted I lean closer to Bakugou's face, Kaminari goes to move out from the two of us, he makes it, but then Bakugou grabs his wrist and pulls Kaminari behind him. I relax my stance, still glaring into saggy pant's eyes. We stay there for a while until Momo announces that pizza has arrived. Bakugou tears his eyes from mine along with a tsk, I take that as a win and leave to go get some food. I don’t have to be there for Bakugou to ruin his chances with Kaminari, he does that himself, I’d rather enjoy my party.

Kirishima likes Denki and Denki likes him back. To make each other jealous they bring fake dates to a wedding, Denki with Shinsou and Kiri with Bakugou.

Bakugou and Shinsou both like their fake date, and are lead to believe that maybe their crushes liked them back, but then are broken hearted when they find there crushes together.

The Bakusquad has recently had lots of free time so they’ve gotten to hang out together, and as Bakugou assumed, Shinsou was now a part of their group. Because of that Bakugou has become a lot more touchy-feely with Denki, which isn't a problem for him. Denkis top love language is physical touch, but he also feels annoying when he’s the only one initiating it with his friends, so it's nice to have someone else be the needy one. Currently, they were doing random slide shows, a trend they saw on TikTok. Jirou went first, she rated everyone's music taste. She said it was unfair to grade herself so the winner was Sero, she said it was the most consistent and matched Seros vibe, Shinsou placed second, Jirou likes his taste but the number of angsty songs concerned her. Mina placed third, her music taste wasn't something for Jirou but she could admit it was still valid. Bakugou was placed in fourth because his music was inconsistent his playlist was a combo of screamo and classical music and jumping between them hurt Jirou’s brain when listening to the back and forth. Not a shocker but Denki placed in dead last, Jirou just couldn't listen to the gummy bear song, or barbie girl or the coconut song, or heeeeeyyyyy man song, which were all songs on his playlist. Mina’s presentation was about how everyone should try out dancing, the thing was that she was blackmailing them, each slide was one of her friends and she would look at them and talk in hints that she would expose a secret she had of theirs. Denkis was titled “ why I should be allowed alone in the kitchen” and it did the opposite of what Denki wanted it to do, every slide was “ even though I burnt down the kitchen…”  he had proved to them that he needs to be chaperoned. 

Denki Pov

“ So have I convinced you, will you guys stop shadowing me in the kitchen.”

 I read the last slide to the group, I was pretty proud of my arguments. 

“ Not a chance in hell.” Jirou

“What side were you even arguing for bro?” Sero

“I was rooting for you bro, but I don’t think I can anymore.” Kirishima

“From what you just showed me I think it’s safe I agree with the people who witnessed it, I can offer to be your kitchen chaperone though.” 

Shinsous words made me blush, he just offed to watch my every move, which I think he already does. He hadn’t been around for all the kitchen fire so maybe he doesn’t understand how well he would have to watch me. Yeah, that makes more sense than someone wanting to watch me, I’m not the most entertaining person.

“That’s my job Zombie bitch, so find a different one. Dunceface!”

Bakugou waved for me to sit down next to him, that and his protective words make me feel special. I wince at the name but still walk to sit in his right, between him and Shinsou but he grabs my waist and moves me to his left so I’m in between him and the armrest. His hand rests on my lower back.

“ Bakugou, your acting a little protective of Denki.”

Jirou mention, and though I agree I wished she wouldn’t mention it cause he’ll probably stop and I like the feeling I get when he protects me.

“Yeah, you act like his dad or something.” 

Sero mentions, I don’t see it that way, I hope he doesn’t see me as his son.

“Shut up you idiots!”

Bakugou says in a harsh tone but at a speaking level, not yelling or anything.

“Yeah bro, he’s too young to be a Denkis dad, he’s more like a brother, Bakubro, that could be your new nickname”

Kirishima said with a look of focus on his face, this was series for him.

“You’re totally right Kiri, he’s like the older protective brother in romances, and the younger sibling ends up dating his best friend or worst enemy, and they have to keep it a secret.”

I don’t think I like older brother any more than dad, I don’t want Bakugou to treat me like family.

“Ok let’s move on guys, Bakubro you want to go?”

Shinsou seemed to be purposely irritating Bakugou, I would have thought it was funny if the joke wasn’t about him being my brother.

“Fuck no, why don’t you go Mr.hypnosis?”

“Fine by me, let me get set up.“

While Shinsou got ready, I felt Bakugou pull me closer, or I think he did, it could just be my imagination.

“Ok welcome to my slide show, Why I would be a great boyfriend.”

I think Shinsou picked kind of a weird topic, I mean why make a slide show about being a good boyfriend in front of people that he would never date. I tried to pay attention but I didn’t want to, it makes me feel lonely to hear people talk about dating, even if it’s hypothetical. I start to nod off, I normally don’t fall asleep this early, but it makes sense today because I took a test in class so I couldn’t take my nap today, and Shinsou’s voice is just so soothing.

Bakugou

“ Yeah, you act like his dad or something.” 

Sero must have thought that it was funny to add on, it wasn’t.

“Shut up you idiots!”

I wasn’t going to listen to these extras talk about me being related to Denki, fuckin idiots, I thought I hide my crush well, but I didn’t know I was such a great fucking actor that they think were related.

“Yeah guy, he’s too young to be Denki’s dad, he’s more like a brother, Bakubro, that could be your new nickname.”

I was glad Shittyhair stopped them, but then he called me “Bakubro” he would be dead right now if I wasn’t worried about Shinsou taking my spot if I moved, I ain’t letting that mindfucker near Denki.

“You’re totally right Kiri, he’s like the older protective brother in romances, and the younger sibling ended up dating his best friend or worst enemy, and they have to keep it a secret.”

Of fucking course I know that troupe but I imagined myself as the boyfriend not the asshole of a brother.

“Ok let’s move on guys, Bakubro you want to go?”

I know what this mother fucker is tru=ing to get my spot and sit with Denki, not on my watch.

“Fuck no, why don’t you go Mr. Hypnostis?”

That’s right fuck your plan, go present about your cats or some shit.

“Fine by me, let me get set up.”

Why the hell does he seem happy about this, I’m the one next to Denki, pull him just a little closer to make sure he’s still there, he is. Which means I’m the winner in this situation, what does this bastard have planned?

“ Ok welcome to my slide show, Why I would be a great boyfriend.”

Oh nothing to be worried about, he thought he was doing something. Well guess what general studies boy, this won’t convince Denki of shit, and it wouldn’t matter because I wouldn’t let you get close enough to even ask him out. Though I’m not worried I’m still pissed, most of what he is presenting is bullshit or it inst enough, just proving to me that he doesn’t deserve Denki. He doesn’t even deserve to think he could h date Denki, he didn’t have the right to imply that the “significant other” was Denki, he doesn’t deserve to even lo-- who the fuck is touching me, oh its Denki. He’s using me as a pillow, I would never let anybody use me, but this was different this was nice. It also meant that Denki didn’t give a shit about Shinsou’s presentation, so it’s a win-win for me. I look at the sleeping angel on my shoulder, then I look up and make eye contact with the fucken bitch presenting, I don’t even try to hide the smug look on my face, keeping eye contact I pull Denki as close to me as I can, he’s warm, and I like that. I see purple brain’s face falter for a second, but then he continues his presentation with a little less enthusiasm than earlier. When he’s done presenting, he leaves, probably too jealous to be around me, as he should be. The rest of the extras do their slide show, Hair for brains does his on manliness, Sero showed off everyday items but they were made of his tape, I’ve seen him use some of the items, like the tape mug he uses every god damn mourning. I convinced the group of extras to let me stay where I was sitting for the presentation because Denki was still on my shoulder and I wasn’t about to remove him from it. My presentation was called “ how to cook you dipshits” one of my slides was actually dedicated to Denki and his strange skill of burning down the kitchen, I think it’s a little funny that my and his slides were connected. 

Since I was the last one, and it was almost curfew time, everyone went to their rooms. I stayed for a little longer, still enjoying the warmth Denki was giving off. Eventually, it was a curfew so I carefully moved Denki off me, got up, and picked him up. I made it to his dorm room, but when I went to open it, I found it locked. I searched Denki for the key but I found none, while I was trying to figure out what to do Denki whispered.

“ Are we gonna have a sleepover Baku?”

Hearing just the begging of my last name was a little weird but it was also cute, only cute cause he did it.

“Only if you want idiot.”

Denki groaned in my arms.

“Of course I do.”

I whispered an ok but I think he fell back asleep before he heard it. I carried him to my room, and the closer I got to my room the heavier he seemed. So when I got to the door I set him down and leaned him against the wall, so I could open the door. While I was distracted Denki fell over and there was a soft thud. I panicked but relaxed when I saw he was fine. I heard a creak from the door next to me. I look up and there stands my new insomniac neighbor, Shinsou.

“What are you doing with Kaminari?”

His voice was more serious than normal, as if I was doing something wrong, it pissed me off.

“I’m bringing him to a bed.”

“Why not bring him to his own bed then?”

“ Because his door was locked and I couldn’t find the key, then he said he wanted to a sleepover. Does that check out with you officer?”

“Why would he want to have a sleepover with you?’

I was done with his accusing tone.

“ Because we’re friends, and in the past when we had sleepovers he was happy, oh or maybe it’s because I give him the best damn cuddles he could ever need. Now excuse me but I’m going to bed cause I’m fucking tired.”

I pick up Denki and bring him into my room and place him on my bed, I was unsure if I should get in the bed with him, but when he started patting the bed as if he was looking for someone, I decided to be that someone, even if I’m not the one he was looking for.

The Unkissable Prince

Quirkless highschool drama club AU. Denki and Jirio play the main leads of a highschool production of “the little merimaid” but problems arise when Jirou insults Denki, calling him ‘unkissable’. Denki’s insecurities grow, feeling unlovable and undesirable, but with some help and flirting from his stage manager Shinsou, Denki realizes that Jirou was wrong.

As the start of every school production starts, you need a cast and their director, Hizashi Yamada, had spent the past week putting the actors into their roles. Now he was in front of them very dramatically reading the cast list to them, he had already named off the minor characters and everyone was already excited.

“ And now for your lead actors,” Yamada announced and then paused for what the kids assumed was suspense until the director spoke again.

“I’m going to need a drum roll, your lead deserves it.” The students were immediately on it, every one of them started hitting their hands against their, hand’s, legs,, or textbooks.

“ Announcing your underwater king, king triton played by Katsuki Bakugou”

Bakugou made a tsk sound, not out of annoyance but as if he was saying ‘of course I’m playing the king you damn extras’ with the simple sound.

“And for his red-shelled friend and worker, Sebastian, will be played by the one and only Eijiro Kirishima.” 

Kirishima was almost near tears, he wanted this role so bad, but he was insecure about his acting ability, but now he was filled with happiness and confidence.

“ Yeah, I knew you’d get it, Kiri.” Mina patted Kirishima on the back, her way of supporting Kirishima.

“Now For the evilest witch who resides under the sea, Ursula will be played by our very own Mina Ashido!” Yamada announced in a sinister voice and pointed at the ecstatic girl. Mina jumped up and started doing a little dance.

“Mina save it for the stage. Now where is my drum roll!?” The students repeated the actions from earlier, making Yamada happy.

“The love interest known as Prince Eric will be played by the one you all know and love Denki Kaminari, and as for his mermaid princess Ariel, that role is given to the talented Kyoko Jirou”

The two leads were very happy to hear that they got the roles they wanted. After some chatting and highlighting their lines, the student’s director was ready to watch the students become their characters and they began to prepare their last high school production.

It was Thursday and today they were going to rehearse the last few scenes of the show for the first time. Both the leads were nervous about the kiss scene that they would have to share, both for different reasons. For Jirou not only was it going to be her first kiss, but it would be with Denki, it not that she has anything against Denki, it’s just that Denki was a guy, and Jirou wasn’t into guys. She’s more into the smart type, with long hair, and lot of money who like tea and are named Momo Yaoyorozu. Jirou wouldn’t say she was repulsed by guys, but she valued her first kiss and didn’t want it to be for a show with someone she would never fall for. Similar to Jirou, Denki also hadn’t had his first kiss, but he just wants to get it over with, he doesn’t want to graduate without having his first kiss. He could care less about who or why, he cares about when. Even if he wants to have the kiss he is still nervous, it will be his  first kiss of course he’d be nervous. They had been rehearsing for a while up until the wedding scene arrived, the scene that required a kiss from the leads. Before they started the scene the director interjected

“ Denki and Jirou come down here for a second.” The two got off the stage and to the director.

“ So Jirou has expressed that she's uncomfortable with the kiss, which is reasonable, you two are high schoolers. So we’re going to do stage kisses, you know how to do that, right?” the two nodded their heads.

“ Ok then get back up there.” The two began to walk up to the stage, but Denki needed to know why Jirou was uncomfortable.

“ So I’m not your type?” Denki joked, his way of figuring out what was wrong.

“ Yeah, you're gross.”

“So gross that you don’t want to kiss me?”

“Of course I don’t want to kiss you, kissing you would be the grossest thing I could think of.” Denki wasn’t sure what he was expecting but he didn’t expect her to make him feel so… unlovable. Jirou realizes what she just said and she feels bad but then realizes that Denki would probably take it as a joke. She wasn’t out as a lesbian to anyone, and she always got defensive when she felt her sexuality would be discovered.

About a week later the actors were sitting and waiting via their director’s instructions.

“Now can any of you tell me what this show is missing.” Yamada walked onto the stage questioning the student. They began to yell out answers, all of which were wrong.

“Nope. No. And wrong. What this show is or I should say was missing is a stage manager. But not anymore, Shinsou come on stage!” A few seconds later an exhausted teenage boy entered the stage, his feet dragging, and in his hands was a large binder labeled ‘The Little Mermaid’. When he got to the center, where Yamada stood, Yamada prompted the boy.

“ Shinsou you’ve got to interlude yourself.” The boy rolled his eyes and took a deep breath in and out.

“ Hello everyone, I’m your stage manager Shinsou. I’m sorry for missing the last week of rehearsal I was working on this.” He lifted up the binder.

“Like he said he is your stage manager he will be working and helping everyone, now let us get to work!” Yamada clapped his hands and the student started to get into place. While trying to get to his spot Denki was stopped by the bluntly attractive stage manager.

“ Hey your Kaminari right, Prince Eric?” Denki had already thought the boy was attractive with a smooth voice, but up close it was dream-like.

“Yeah, that’s me, but you can call me by my first name, Denki.”

“Ok, I approached  you because I have a lot of notes and ideas, and I bet you have yours, so I want to work with you on your portal of Prince Eric.” Denki was shocked at how straight forward the boy in front of him was. A schedule was made so that the two could work on Denki’s lines, memorization, and portal. Though these meetings would also lead to working on Denki’s self-confidence, and romantic life, but they don't know any of that yet, it's something they'll have to discover themselves.

Loud obnoxious confident blonde

Kami: DONT TELL ME IM WRONG. I WASNT GOOD ENOUGH FOR THEM. Okay I know that, I don't want you pitiful lies

Mina: Denki ...

Kami: No listen. When i feel for eijiro, he feel for bakugou , a load ,obnoxious ,confident , blonde. After i got over him i started to fall for another guy, but midorya didn't fancy me, he fancied a loud blonde who is confident and obnoxious, aoyama. But apparently, that wasn't enough, third times the charm right. No, because as i grew close to hitoshi, i fell for him, even after telling myself that i cant, that it will end like all the others. And maybe i should switch career paths, become a physic or something because you know who hitoshi is out on a date with right now. FUCKING MONAMA, THE MOST OBNOXIOUS, LOUD, CONFIDENT BLONDE.

Denki is screaming and crying in the end, mina is frozen unsure of how to comfort him.

Kami: So what's the problem, im a confident blond and im loud and obnoxious, so why did all of them fall for the others that are so similar to me. there no other reason other then im romantically unlovable, I cant take another heartbreak mina, it hurts, so much, and no one is here to hold me, or to love me, to tell me they love me.

Mina moves to hold her crying friend

Mina: I love you Denki

Kami: it not the same but can you continue to hold me, just for a little long

Mina: As long as you need

The past few weeks the cast had been working hard to make something they could be proud of, and they were proud of what they had accomplished so far as a group, but problems arise in individuals. Most of the actors were in their last year of high school and had other problems and worries this late in the school year. Lunch was one of the only times they could relax without having to do school work or production work. It was a time of fun relaxation, laughs and for some, it was a time to make new relationships or for some to evolve.

Denki and Shinsou had been working together during rehearsal almost every time the actors were given time to work on individual character work. Even though Denki was who Shinsou worked with the most, Denki was always disappointed when Shinsou worked with another actor. Now Shinsou was a part of the theater kid group, even during lunch. Currently, most of the students in the production were having lunch together and it was only the second week that Shinsou was a part of this lunch group and he had taken notice of something. For one he noticed the closeness of Tokoyami the actor playing Scully and Aoyama the french boy who played the french chef in the show, he assumed that they were together or were getting to that type of relationship. He also noticed that mina was ursal, not that she was naturally ursal but she constantly in character, basically method acting, and it scared most of the none theater people. What he took notice of most was how they treated Denki, for the most part, it was harmless jokes that could be taken the wrong way. What he was really unsure of was how Jiro treated him, her jokes were more insults than the others, half the time he couldn’t tell if she was even trying to joke about it. Shinsou could tell that Denkiwas affected by Jiro’s words, and he was too. Mostly because her insults were always about other’s feelings toward Denki. Things like

“Your so annoying, it makes people hate you.”

“It’s hard being around you when you are so stupid.”

"I still don’t how you landed the prince role when you the furthest thing from a prince .”

“It’s so hard to act like I’m in love with prince eric when you’re the one playing him.”

“I’m not surprised that you’ve never been in a relationship, I pray for your future partner.”

That last few ones were the ones that hurt Shinso because he was a part of Denkis prince Eric’s portrayal. The last one also struck a chord with him because he liked Denkieven before they become friends, he was almost hopelessly in love with Denkinow that they got to spend time together. Even though Jiro’s comments hurt both Denkiand Shinsou, neither of them was able to stand up to her. All Shinsou could do was find a way to comfort Denki when they were alone.

Later in the day after school now at rehearsal, once again Shinso was hoping from person to person helping them during their individual work. Denki was running over his lines, memorizing, blocking, and figuring out how to say each word, the way prince eric would. Shinso had taught him many acting tips in the past few weeks, it made Denki feel a little dumb because he had done acting for fun since he was little and he was only learning such things in his last year of high school. Denki sat and thought of tactics, a term, and a method that Shinso taught him. Basically, each line has at least one tactic, a tactic is an action verb that is aimed at the other characters in the show. For example, he used ‘to swoon Ariel’ quite a bit, swoon being the tactic and Ariel is who it is for. All the work he was doing made him think of Shinsou, and how Shinsou wasn’t working with him right now, it made him feel alone and jealous that he didn’t have the fluffy-haired boy’s attention. The director called for clean up which indicated the end of rehearsal, and Denki still hadn’t worked with Shinsou today, it disappointed him more than it should have.

Denki

I pack up my bag and script but stay seated in the chair I was in. I know that it’s time to go but I wasn’t ready to leave, not mentally at least. I watched as my ...our stage manager talked to our director, I have no clue what their conversations about but it’s not unusual for them to talk after rehearsal. I began to space out, still staring in their direction, I’m broken from this state when I notice both men looking at me, I panic a little because when two people are talking and looking at you it means that they’re talking about you, and I can only assume that their talking shit if it’s me they’re looking at. In my slightly panicked state, I didn’t realize that Yamada has left and that Shinso has started to approach me. I try to calm myself and get ready to stand up but before I could stand up I hear the amazing smooth voice of Shinso.

“Stay seated.”

Even though his tone wasn’t demanding or scary, I summited and was scared. I watched as he sets down something and pulls out another foldable chair, across from me and my chair. I couldn’t think of what to say or question but luckily I didn’t have to because he knew the answers to the questions I hadn’t even thought of yet

“I asked Yamada if I could work with you a little more today here because we didn’t get to.”

I nodded my head and took note of how awkward he knew that we were alone together. I guess he thinks I’m stupid because he went into more detail.

“He said yes, just no funny business and to lock up and that return the keys when I get home.”

He was less awkward now, he even rolled his eyes at the no funny business part. I assume that the shiny thing he put down was the keys to the auditorium. The most confusing part was the ‘return the keys when I get home’.

"Wait you live with Yamada?”

I yelled that a little loud and was a little too excited for that, it probably made him uncomfortable to be around a loud person like me.

"Yeah, he not my dad or anything. At least not biologically, he’s my foster parent, has been for the past 3 years but he hasn’t asked if I wanted to be adopted yet so I think he waiting till I turn 18 so he doesn’t have to deal with me.”

He laughs but I don’t think it’s very funny, because I don’t think it true, and Yamada isn’t like that. I hold my breath though, no one wants to hear my thoughts anyway, so I switch the subject.

"I was working on tactics today, hear let me show you!”

We worked for the next 30 minutes on different parts of the script, until we ended up on the wedding scene, the same scene that prince eric and ariel kiss. The atmosphere became weird between us, we weren’t acting or anything, just reading the lines and talking through different ideas. But the topic of kissing filled the air with awkwardness. But we had to continue with analyzing and discovering my character.

"I’ve been having trouble portraying Eric at this moment. It’s hard to show the love he feels for Ariel.”

I admitted to Shinso that love was hard to portray which is pretty embarrassing.

"I would try and draw out, or remember an experience for this scene, like your first kiss, or date, something romantic.”

Shinso suggested, I tried to rack my brain to find a replay that doesn’t include Shinso learning that I haven’t had my first kiss yet. But that’s what enders up coming out.

"I haven’t...”

"You haven’t ...what? Kissed someone? gone on date?”

Shinso sounds very shocked by this discovery. I just nodded my head not wanting to face him.

"But you’ve rehearsed this scene before, so you’ve kissed Jiro?”

I suddenly realize that every time Jiro and I have rehearsed that scene, Shinso isn’t in his chair, and when Yamada announced we would be doing stage kisses instead, Shinso hadn’t joined the club yet. Meaning that Shinso didn’t know about the stage kisses.

“No, she was uncomfortable with that so we opted for stage kisses, so I’ve never had a first kiss, not a romantic one or a fake one from Jiro.”

“Whats a stage kiss?”

I’m shocked, my stage manager doesn’t know what a stage kiss is. He knows all these other terms for acting but he doesn’t know about a basic stage kiss. Well, now I get to be the smart one.

"Well, it’s so that actors don’t have to kiss but it tricks the audience. Basically one of the actors grabs the other’s face and kisses their thumbs.”

I was feeling pretty smug about knowing something Shinsou didn’t. Until he spoke again.

“I don’t understand. Maybe I’ll understand better if you showed me.”

I cough out a little bit in shock, yeah sure it’s a stage kiss and I wouldn’t actually be kissing him, but the idea makes me nervous. It’s not like I don’t want to kiss him, stage kiss him, it’s the opposite, I’ve grown fond of him and might even say I have a crush on him. I know that I don’t have a shot with him or anyone for that matter but I can’t help but wish for more than a stage kiss. But if a stage kiss is the closest I'll get to being with Shinso I'll take it.

Without saying anything I get up from my chair and move towards Shinso, I place my hands on his face and then I lift my thumbs positioning them in front of his lips. they flout above his lips as I pause for a second, thinking about touching his lips with my thumbs, it’s still intimate in my mind, but his puzzled look makes me place my thumbs down on his lips. There soft, I would have expected chapped lips but this is a pleasant surprise. I close my eyes and kiss my own thumbs, I keep my lips there longer than I do when I stage kiss Jiro, but Shinso won’t know that. I pull away and open my eyes, to see Shinso smiling and almost laughing, then he begins to laugh. I began to feel insignificant and stupid again. I know I don’t have a shot with some as amazing as Shinso but that doesn’t mean I didn’t still hope that the stage kiss would lead to something more, and real.

“Sorry for laughing. You really haven’t had your first kiss.”

It’s that obvious to him, sure I told him but how can he tell how inexperienced I am from just a stage kiss.

“What’s that suppose to mean?”

I asked in a more rude tone than I meant to.

"Well you closed your eyes, like the whole time, and you were there longer than needed.”

“You’re supposed to close your eyes, right. That’s what they do in movies and like it’s bad if you open your eyes, or that’s what I’ve heard.”

Shinso nods at my statement but it seems to be in a teasing way.

“Wel that right but you make it seem like life or death, your eyes aren’t just closed there squeezed shut, and with simple kisses that the .. um … the stage kiss is replicating, it’s short. Cause in real life it would be a little awkward to put your lips against someone else’s without at least some lip movement.”

I find his corrections on my stage kiss annoying, and I don’t try to hide it in my voice.

"Oh, so your some sort of kissing expert?”

“I wouldn’t call myself that, but I’m more experienced than you.”

I become more annoyed because his voice changed and he became more smug

"Well, it’s not my fault I haven’t had my first kiss!”

I yell at him.

“Neither is it mine.”

“Yes, it is because anyone who hasn’t tried to kiss me is at fault!”

I blurt out without think of consequences, and when I look at Shinso and his smug, flirtatious face I know that there’s going to be consequences.

“So if I kiss you then I can be free from being blamed?”

I go wide-eyed, I can’t tell if he’s being serious. And if he is I don’t know if I want my first kiss to be under these circumstances. Oh, who am I kidding I was ready to have my first kiss be with Jiro for a play. I try to ask him how serious he is but it stumbles out in pieces.

“How ….uu. I ho-how seri-serious is your.. Uhh ...your ..proposal?”

I sound like a mess. I watch as Shinso stands up from his chair moving closer to me. His left hand rests on my cheek. Leans in and whispers...

“As serious as you want it to be.”

We stand and stay in this position until Shinsou whispers more...

“I’m asking if I can kiss you.”

“Yes!”

The yes that falls out of my mouth is too fast and too quiet but Shinsou heard it and leaned in. I don’t like to admit that I’m wrong but I was and Shinso is right. Without movement this is awkward. But then he snickers with his lips still on mine, that’s when I realize he wasn’t moving on purpose to prove his point. He begins to move, and I half expect it to become a french kiss but it doesn’t. I follow his lips movement hoping that I’m doing it correctly.

We eventually pull away, both our faces tinted pink with blush. I’m not used to silence so I try to fill it.

"Wow, where did all that confidence come from?”

Shinso was often not as flirty as he has been for the past 10 minutes.

“Don’t know, it happens more than you’d expect.”

His hand does that thing that I’ve read in teen romance stories, where it goes behind their neck. I can see the movement of hair and fingers and I assume that it’s some sort of nervous tick to play with his hair, it cute.

“So I think we did enough work for one day, so I guess it’s time to go home.”

I nodded and turn back to grab my stuff, I turn around and Shinsou is already ready to go, waiting for me, but he doesn’t seem to be annoyed like most people are when I take longer to get ready. He locks up the room and we walk to the exit together. When we get outside I turn to start walking home, Shinsou turns the other way but before I get too far he turns back and yells at me.

“Do you need a ride? People shouldn’t walk this late at night, I don’t mind giving you a ride. “

I turn around and yell back...

"I don’t want to get you in trouble for being home late.”

“I’d probably get more in trouble if I let you walked, that’s how my dads are, so come on.”

He waves me over and I jog over to him.

During the ride we don’t talk much, letting the radio fill the car, scaring off the awkward silence. I told him my address and he uses a GPS for direction instead of asking me every 2 minutes when to turn. So I was able to just watch him, and I never realized how attractive people can be while driving till now. Especially the one hand on the wheel, his right hand still on the shift even though it an automatic, his left hand on the wheel. The same hand that was on my cheek less than 20 minutes ago. The realization brings color back to my face, I begin to think about the kiss again. My thinking almost always leads to questions that make me insecure, and like always, I begin to question. Along with my brain answering with the most likely answer

Did I do it right? No.

Did he like it? No.

Does he regret it? Of course.

Was it just a moment thing? Yes.

Or does it have a deeper meaning? No.

Will it happen again? Never, don’t even get your hopes up.

Will we become more than friends? Idiot.

Did he hate it? How else is someone supposed to feel after kissing you?

Is Jiro right? Has she ever been wrong, no, and that hasn’t changed.

Will he stop being my friend? Probably and if not, it’s pity.

Why did he do it? To teach you, cause your a lonely idiot.

Does he like me? Not even a question, of course not, look at him, then yourself. He would never like you.

“Denki is this it?”

I’m broken from the negative thoughts. Shinso has already parked, I look out the window, and sure enough, it is my house.

“Yeah."

I step out and grab my stuff, I close the door, the window rolls down.

"Have a good day Denki.”

"Yeah, you to Shinso.”

I begin to walk away but he yells out a little more...

"Call me Hitoshi. Also, It wasn’t a moment thing, and I want to see where this leads.”

My back was turned the whole time he said talked, I stand there frozen in disbelief. It’s only when I hear his car drive away that I breathe again, my first breath also being a whisper of his name.

None of the neighbors ever leave their house, there are hardly ever stores around, and the nearest school is over a half hour away. The two start to notice weird things happening around their house and take it into their hands to investigate.

You yawned, leaving the car with your small bag in one hand and a cat carrier in the other. The drive here had been uneventful, and the new house was smaller than you last one. You and Hitoshi would be sharing a room, while Eri got her own. Your dad's room was the biggest, and there was an attic with a library.

Walking into the house, you took in the large entrance. There was a stairway immediately to the left of the entrance way and behind it, a kitchen. There was a living room to the right with a dusty couch and some dirty windows. You cringed at the smell of dust and headed up the stairs.

They creaked loudly and startled the cats in the carrier. You shushed them softly and continued upstairs. You knew your and Hitoshi's room was the farthest down the hall to the right. Once you entered it, you chose the bed closest to the hallway and noticed a large white wall directly across from the beds.

Hitoshi waled in after you with another cat carrier and his bag. There were two dressers and two desks along with the identical beds. You closed the door and opened the cat carriers, starting to unpack your bags.

Over the next hour or so your dads cleaned up, unpacked themselves and Eri, and got the cats used to the house. The only cat that didn't leave your room was Raymond, the grey cat that you and Hitoshi had named after an Animal Crossing villager he had. He yawned and stretched out on your bed.

After a while you set up a projector you had bought a while ago and played some BuzzFeed Unsolved Supernatural. You and Hitoshi had never really been afraid of ghosts or anything like that. Eventually you fell asleep cuddling with Raymond.

The next morning you woke up to pots clattering downstairs. Raymond was still in your arms and Hitoshi was passed out on the bed across from you. His computer had been turned off and his phone was on the bed in front of him.

You stretched, taking Raymond downstairs with you and going to see what all that noise was. The stairs creaked some more, Macha sitting on the railing of the stairs like she owned the place. You scratched her chin as you walked past and followed the noise into the kitchen.

Your dad Hizashi was making something on the stove. Something you were not going to taste, mind you. He was notorious for his inability to cook. You noticed Calliope shaking under the kitchen table, scared to death by all the noise.

"Pa, you're scaring the cats. It's like six am if you don't quiet down Hitoshi and dad will wake up and that will be very unpleasant for you."

He turned around, finally noticing you. "Hey sweetheart! You liking the house?" he asked, excitedly. You sighed, nodding and trying to find something to do.

"Hey sweet pea, do you wanna start putting away some of the books in the attic?"

Agreeing, you grabbed the boxes of books and started taking them upstairs, getting followed by a few of the cats every trip downstairs. After a bit, you had all the boxes upstairs and started unpacking them. You organized them by genre, the largest sections being mystery and sci-fi.

In the middle of putting the books on the actual shelves, your arms started getting tired. Taking a small break, you sat in the chair in the corner. Raymond jumped into your lap, snuggling up to you. "I wish you could help me, you useless little turd," you cooed at Raymond, getting only a soft meow in return.

You looked up, almost screaming at what you saw. One of the books in the realistic fiction pile you had been working on was floating onto the shelf.

Absently, he wonders if the other is already awake. Yesterday they had Quirk Training and Kaminari had used up his energy reserves, the smaller had practically passed out on Hitoshi’s bed after the shower, the other teenager following him afterwards and despite the severe headache, the purple-haired one had had a good night’s sleeping cosy next to Kaminari.

As a precaution, he opens his door carefully and his gaze falls immediately on the sleepy figure on his bed. His dark curtains are partially open, offering natural and soft lighting for the surroundings, but Hitoshi is more attracted by the way the sun’s rays reflect on Kaminari’s golden threads and eyes.

The blond was curled up in his sheets, absently fiddling with his phone while quietly singing a song in fluent English, unaware of the desire that seemed to be getting harder to contain in Hitoshi’s chest.

Kaminari was beautiful and everything Hitoshi wanted most.
