Q: Can you tell us what you said to her at the net? You guys had a few words between each other. Naomi Osaka: Yeah, I just told her she played really amazing and I feel like she, if she's similar to me, she would be down on herself. But I think she played really well and I'm kind of the veteran in this case, so, yeah, I'm sure I'm going to play her multiple times in the future.

Q. You're obviously one of the best returners in the world and I think a lot of people enjoyed seeing you go up against the male servers at the United Cup. I'm curious, did you like enjoy the challenge of seeing how you fared against them and what, if anything, you changed to kind of tackle them?
I was lurking on tennis reddit and I've lowkey realised that the reason Jannik gets so much hate and had been getting a lot of hate even before the doping scandal is he guards himself very closely. He doesn't give a lot of his personal thoughts/opinions away and in press conferences and media duties he gives the safest answers. He also often recycles the same answers( this could be a combination of being introverted and not being fluent in english). The main thing that people want to see in a celebrity/sportsperson the days is openness and vulnerability. I can see Jannik with his closed off persona coming off as robotic. Therefore there is a big hole where people can project their thoughts both negative and positive onto him.
When Jannik was in the top 10 nobody really cared about how quiet or "PRish" he was, people even praised him for being cool, calm and collected. But now that he's number 1 in the world, there's a huge spotlight on him and his personality and people don't like that they don't know him deeply.In my opinion his personality hasn't changed just the perception of it.
I also think it's a similar problem with Iga, while she can be more open than Jannik, she gets a lot of unnecessary hate for being boring and quiet.

Quite frankly I think I’d be okay if Iga Swiatek, Aryna Sabalenka, Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz win every slam for the next five years
I’m obsessed with the visual of Iga Swiatek falling down onto the floor after winning Madrid this year and getting visible clay stains down the back of her white kit that show up in pictures after the match and during the trophy ceremony. It’s really a representation of how gritty and intense that match was, and how she became one with the court.
There’s just a special bond between top clay players and their favorite surface since it’s so unique — so to me it’s only fitting that it’s the only surface that actually sticks to you
