What Are Your Top 5 Favorite Musical Songs?
Here are mine(in no particular order):

On My Own: Although Iâve havenât experienced romantic love yet, I adore this song! Itâs well orchestrated and sung by Frances Ruffelle, her voice is beautiful.

The Wizard & I: I can relate to Elphabaâs wish to be accepted since I felt that way too. Idina Menzelâs sings amazingly and gets into character so well. I also saw this song performed live and the way itâs done on stage made me like this song more.

Satisfied: Love the blending of rapping and regular singing in this song. It works so well! Renée Elise Goldsberry nails it and made me see Angelica in a different, but good way.

Breathe: I havenât heard the whole soundtrack yet, but âBreatheâ is such a standout to me so far. Again, I relate to Ninaâs fear of disappointing her family(I feel that way 24/7). Mandy Gonzalez sings very well and her high notes are delightful to hear. As an Hispanic, I really enjoyed the addition of Spanish.

I Donât Need Your Love: Izuka Hoyle nails the vulnerability of Catherine Parrâs sad story of losing her love, and her growing confidence in herself later on. The latter part of the song makes me feel so powerful. All the women singing together by the end was so good! Their voices blended so well together.

When I started this page of writings, my vision was clear; I would share what I like and what I want to share. It's a personal page that provides a good venue for a better point of view.
Gavin Creel is a respectable TONY artist that I grew up watching along with Disney and other International foreign acts of wonders, voiceovers with its channel and satellite media that gave me so much heart for the arts and sciences behind such wonders in every soul and life that made everything in a perfect line of artistry in music and its CAL -A marked form of powerful impact in what I see and call as entertainment.
I honestly don't want to say goodbye to Gavin Creel as I love the energy that I felt when he sang one of the ICONIC songs from RENT with Aaron Tveit (Take Me or Leave Me) which was originally performed by Idina Menzel and one of Anne Hathaway friend from Devil Wears Prada Tracie Thoms. I will always love that Duet as I live to feel your heart for singing it with so much emphasis on why we live as we are.

I think a wildly underrated thing is that when Elsa is singing Show Yourself, it slowly transforms from "show yourself" in a "let me see you" kind of way to "show yourself" in a "you deserve to know your own power, show you who you are"

This was my vey 1st cover. Hope u like it.
Aro culture is the song Defying Gravity from Wicked. Aro culture is also the line âYes, Iâm alone, but Iâm alone and freeâ from Frozen, and just the entirety of Elsa from Frozen, especially the song âShow Yourselfâ from Frozen II (You are the one youâve been waiting for all of your life). (Obligatory f Disney)

Elphaba realizing she has nowhere to go after Defying Gravity

Frozen 2 Review
I wasnât the biggest fan of the first Frozen movie. I thought it was a mixed bag. The songs were catchy and emphasis on Anna and Elsaâs sibling relationship driving the movie were all high points for me, but I didnât like Hans as a twist villain and found some of the execution a bit lacking. So I wasnât sure what to expect going into this movie. I was pleasantly surprised and left the theater having enjoyed the movie.
This film once again put heavy emphasis on the sibling relationship of Anna and Elsa and I felt that it was easily the strongest aspect of the film. Elsaâs anxiety and guilt is explored and expanded upon. She still feels that because of her powers she is the cause of the misfortune and unhappiness that her family has faced and itâs revealed that her parents died trying to learn the truth about her powers which just reinforces these fears and causes her to take the final leg of her journey alone. Anna is struggling to help Elsa see her own self worth and maintain their connection. Both of these character journeys are emotionally impactful at times and make the characters relatable. Elsa finally gets closure on her powers and her meaning in life. Learning that her being born and her powers have a purpose which lifts a large burden that she has had since the beginning of the first film off her shoulders. My favorite part of the film is how their relationship at the beginning of the film is portrayed. Elsa and Anna are allowed to do normal everyday things with each other and comfort each other. I appreciated the scene where Anna notices something is wrong with Elsa and they end up cuddling while Anna sings the song their mother used to to Elsa. I always love when media portrays caring sibling relationships.
I was surprised by the dark subject matter the film chose to cover. It depicted the conflict between white colonizers and peaceful indigenous people with Elsa and Annaâs grandfather killing the unsuspecting, unarmed Northuldra chief, which leads to a non-graphic massacre of the indigenous people. The film deals with the erasure of these past misdeeds and the responsibility of the newer generation to acknowledge these wrongs and work for a better future. I can tell you as someone who is native American that I personally appreciated that this issue was given focus within the movie because it sadly mirrors real world events.Â
The standout songs are âInto the Unknownâ and âShow Yourselfâ, which are to no surprise, sung by Idina Menzel (the voice of Elsa) who has an incredible voice. I found these songs to be more emotionally resonant than the songs in the first film while not being quite as catchy as âLet it Goâ. The animation in this movie was stunning. The particle effects when Elsa used her powers were incredible. Everything from faces to movements to hair to clothes were so detailed. It seemed like you could see the individual hairs on a characterâs head and threads of their clothes.
All that being said this movie wasnât perfect. I didnât really like what they did with Kristoff this movie. I found the repeated failure to propose to be tiresome and wished that they had cut this subplot to give more time to Anna and Elsaâs relationship and maybe expanding upon the Northuldra peopleâs culture. While I thought Olaf was funnier in this film than the first I felt he wasnât really necessary. I also wasnât the biggest fan of Elsa and Anna ending the movie separated. They spent the majority of their childhood apart and now they are once again apart after only being together for a few years. It seemed a bit counter to the arc between Elsa and Anna they had set up. The first movie Elsaâs arc was about learning that shutting herself off from the world and those that care about her didnât truly free her like she initially thought and it was only through those connections that she could come to accept herself and be happy. And heavy emphasis was put on their sibling bond in both films, so having Elsa decide to live in the forest and live away from Anna and the kingdom was not the ending I would have liked.
Overall I enjoyed this film and found a lot of the character beats hit me harder than the first. I also liked the story more and the expanded mythology within the movie. While not a perfect film I think it was worth the price of admission.
Enchanted is my favorite Disney movie. Ever. And I have been waiting for the Disenchanted official announcement since September last year.
The premise sounds great. Giselle upset with how her relationship with Morgan has turned after moving makes a wish for their lives to be a fairy. However she neglects to realize that in fairytale the stepmothers, which she is, are wicked.
I'm concerned about the baby. Now to be fair I don't know if they'll play an important role beyond being the reason the family had to move.
It's just babies due to their lack of most qualities necessary to make a full character, mostly act as objects within a plot, resulting in stories that tend to be incredibly grating and played out.
I don't want to get too deep into it. I just have some concerns. I feel like most of you understand what I'm trying to explain.
cold as ice
my name is Eden, the last elf left in galleria. i was left to die just like all the others. only difference is i made it. i was trapped in the ice queens castle to serve her and only her. she gave me one offer that i simply couldn't refuse, and that was that of protecting my family to join along side her. meaning stay and join me or your family dies. i didn't want to do it but to save my family i had no choice. chained to the wall in her dungeon i sit thinking of all those innocent elvens that had to protect there village and couldn't. how am i going to escape? i don't know if i even can. but tonight i must service the ice queen yet again. i'm not sure if being without a mate has caused me to fall for the queen or if it's just my conscience telling me do as she says for me to be able to calculate my fate. ill report back in a few days if im not back soon...tell everyone i fought with everything i had.
