I Just Get Carried Away Very Easily - Tumblr Posts

Thank you for answering my question! I hope you don't mind if I ask a couple more. I'm glad that you like both Kinkajou and Swordtail because it feels like the fandom has mixed feelings about those characters. Some people think Kinkajou is annoying and I think a lot of people just don't care about Swordtail. So I'm very curious, what are the reasons you love these two characters so much?

*pulls up a 60-slide powerpoint* I'm so glad you asked

The main reason I like them is that they remind me of some of my friends. Both in real life and in fictional universes, I'm just automatically drawn to loud, bubbly, excitable characters. Also, most of my favorite characters fall under the categories of cinnamon roll, himbo, chaotic, or just a tiny bit insane. I think if someone finds Kinkajou annoying, it's probably because she's so fast-paced and bouncing off the walls all the time. But that's one of my favorite traits people have, because it appeals to my attention span. I have a friend who's a lot like Kinkajou and every conversation with her is just nonstop talking, jumping from topic to topic, and there's never an awkward pause. For some people that probably sounds like a nightmare, but it's an ideal friendship for me. As for Swordtail, the fact that he doesn't get focused on that much in the books is most likely why some people don't care about him. But 1. I tend to become fixated on background characters, and 2. I relate to him a lot. The time he does get on-page (or whatever you call it in a book) made me think about how much he's like me and what a fun character he is! Honestly, I bet Swordtail and Kinkajou would get along well. But yeah, that's basically why those two are some of my favorite characters.
