A carpet of hundreds of stars sprinkled the onyx-colored night sky over New Berk in all its silvery beauty. The village had gradually become quiet except for the Haddocks' residence where there was an after party after an extensive party in the Great Hall with the family introducing their youngest member to the people. To celebrate the evening, Astrid's father had made his famous tuna rolls with a bowl of salad, which he now served on the terrace of the house. “Who wants a roll?” he asked his son-in-law, who was sitting opposite his friends Snotlout, Fishlegs and Tuffnut. Hiccup smiled kindly at his tall father-in-law and took a roll from the tray. “Say, how do you pronounce your little one’s name again?” Snotlout asked with a raised eyebrow as he grabbed three rolls from Magnus’ tray. „Linka," Hiccup repeated for the hundred thousandth time tonight. Tuffnut grinned amusedly over at Fishlegs as he petted his chicken. “Speaking of Links, dear Mr. Ingermann still owes me ten galleons.” Fishlegs rolled his eyes in annoyance and handed Tuff the money, which he immediately counted happily. “You bet what name our baby will have?” Astrid, who was sitting next to Hiccup with her little daughter in her arms, interrupted. Ruffnut, who was playing with the fingers of her most beloved Throk, who was in the middle of a conversation with Mala and Dagur, shrugged her shoulders with a large mug of beer in her hand. “We’ve been doing it since the first one.” Astrid and Hiccup looked at each other in shock, then they could only smile. Hiccup lovingly placed his hand on his wife's thigh, a smile playing on her lips as he touched the soft skin of her cheek with his delicate lips. Astrid placed her hand over Hiccup's and squeezed it tightly. After an hour the afterparty was over. Hiccup and Astrid had put Zephyr and Nuffink to bed and had retreated to their room with little Linka. Little Feyre was nuzzling her mother's nipple when Hiccup came out of the bathroom next door, his hair wet and only a towel wrapped around his waist. He put on a pair of long, loose trousers before he went to Astrid, gave her a kiss on the forehead and then took her little daughter, who had fallen asleep on her mother's bosom. He gently stroked her back while holding her to his bare chest. Astrid, who was holding his hand, looked up at him and smiled. She watched as Hiccup rocked her little daughter back and forth in his arms, constantly kissing her on her head and on her cheeks, and whispering to her. Astrid got out of bed, everything felt so perfect, but still an unfathomable emptiness spread in her heart that she hadn't felt in several years. Lost in thought, she strolled around the room, looking up at the map of the barbaric archipelago. Her fingers glided over the small wooden figures that represented Stormfly and Toothless. Stormfly. Astrid's heart became heavy at the thought that her beloved dragon could not be with her on this special day. She missed the Nadder's friendly nature so much, her playfulness, the morning flights, training together... She opened the large window to the balcony, a warm breeze ran through her hair and stirred up some strands that fell onto her face. She only noticed in passing how Hiccup put Linka in her crib before putting on a shirt. Her gaze was focused solely on the endless starry sky. She jumped for a brief moment as Hiccup put his arm around her, holding her tightly to him. "You miss her, don't you?" Astrid nodded, tears soaking her vision as she finally let them flow. Hiccup gave her a kiss on the forehead. “I know how you feel, Honey, I miss Toothless terribly too. But don't worry, they'll be fine." Astrid nodded weakly, tried to blink away the tears, but they kept coming. "It is good. Let it all out,” Hiccup whispered to her. Astrid looked out to the sea, towards the hidden world that lay hidden far out in the endless expanse of the ocean. And she wondered if she missed Stormfly as much as she missed her. She couldn't have known that Stormfly, who was flying over a lake in the hidden world with her three children, but kept glancing towards the entrance, was wondering exactly the same thing. Even though it hurt both of their hearts, they knew that they were connected to each other forever. Even if they were separated by endless miles.

14 Years of Httyd ❤️‍🔥

Httyd Trilogy in three words or less: Beautiful. Emotional. Awesome.

Whenever I watch the Trilogy, the Shows, the Shorts, listen to the beautiful Soundtrack or I see or hear the title somewhere, I fell in Love with this Wonderful Story all over again and I‘m so grateful Httyd is part of my life and my Favorite Movie Trilogy of all Time.

Headcanon:

Hiccstrid always plan one day in a week a romantic evening to have some alone couple time. (The kids are then with Valka or Astrids Parents.) Sometimes they sit by the fireplace cuddle up in furs, have a romantic dinner they Cook together, dance slowly under the Stars, take a bath with wine and rose petals or make hot Love when they are in the mood.

This Movie is definitely an underrated Gem

It’s the perfect Arc for Shrek. It’s funny sometimes and there are still the classy pop songs but this all doesn’t matter on how good this movie is. There’s Emotion, there are darker tones, there’s tell don’t show. Fiona and Shreks Releationship when they fall all over in Love again is so touching and beautiful at the same time. Puss and Donkey were hilarious together as always. The Villain was great, I really like his Modevation and the way he was spoken and portraited through the film. The Orge dance party with the rat catcher was amazing. It’s brilliant to make the rat catcher of Hameln of all people a bounty hunter when you look at the original Folk tale. The message was so good and the emotional moments hit, you care. It’s such a good ending to conclude shreks Story. surprisingly enough the guy who ruined KFP4 directed this movie. But you also have take into account that this was planned, so maybe Jeffrey Katzenberg was looking over his shoulder the whole time, to make sure he did everything right. I think this is now my favorite Shrek movie. (Sorry fairy godmother but you will always be my favorite shrek villain.) I can highly recommend it will not waste your time. Check it out and I’ll link schaffrialls review about it, because he can describe everything better what’s great about this movie than me. Hey if this movie is an underrated gem among fans so is httyd3, both movies do more things right than wrong. THW and Shrek 4 are in my opinion one of the magnum opuses of this Studio.

I just had to correct him on Stoicks side here in the flashbacks. That’s actually not a reckon it’s a different side from his Character. He tried to be the best father he could in a world where dragons are common threat. He was just softer in their early years because it was easier to protect him. This got harder and harder when Hiccup got older. It shows us a softer, more sensitive side of Stoick we first saw glimpses of it in the first and second movie. For example the smile He gave Hiccup in the end of httyd1 and the dancing and the dreaming sequence with Valka in httyd2.

Sry for this long explaination, I just can’t stand when People say the third movie ignores the other two for whatever reason. It does the exact opposite: it takes the foundations that were lay out in the first two and expand them beautifully.

Also you have to watch Cinema Therapy, they analyzed Hiccstrids Releationship trough out the Trilogy and the most interesting is when Astrid gives Hiccup a talk before the battle.

And this one of the reasons why I still adore and love httyd3. It has so much depth and thought in it that you don’t see at first glance. This scene is a perfect example for it, how much emotion and thought in this movie was put in, even if it’s not perfect. But let’s be honest no movie is perfect and we still adore some of these movies like Atlantis: the lost empire (which is my favorite Disney movie), Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron, Treasure Planet, Sindbad: Legend of the seven seas (which I saw a month ago and really liked it) or Shrek Forever After. Just go and visit the Instagram Account of weareberk, he analyzed it all very thoughtful and with so much love and appreciation. And exactly this depth combined with the stunning animation is it what makes httyd3 so unique and beautiful. And there is so much more to know.

You what hurts most about this scene?

I noticed while rewatching some httyd 3 clips, that at this point Hiccup didn’t have his leg, obviously because he had to lose it to get rid of Grimmel.

But it’s so much more than that.

As Hiccup draws away from Toothless after saying goodbye, he hobbles and Astrid helps him stand.

He literally can’t stand alone at this moment.

A major part of him is missing in this scene, and a major part of his life is now leaving. The leg itself symbolises their bond, and now it’s gone.

He has to lean on Astrid physically and figuratively, because his best friend is now gone. He can’t rely on Toothless, can’t lean on him.

It almost mirrors the scene in the first movie where Toothless helps him stand with his new leg, instead now he is going, giving the responsibility of helping Hiccup up to Astrid.

Anyway I’m gonna go sob and deny this movie exists-

Again beautiful and emotional. Stoick is one of my favorite characters in the httyd universe too. I love most about him his complex relationship with his son. It was so well done in every single aspect of the trilogy and the shows. The two scenes he has with little Hiccup in httyd3 just make me more emotional because of how cruel his death was and He sacrificed himself for saving his son and his best friend. We see in this two flashbacks how he was when Hiccup was a little boy. He was more affectionate because he could protect him easier.

I can’t find words to the wonderful, pure feeling this Story gives me and your posts remind me of this feeling very much.

A chief protects his own

The scene always makes me cry and gives me goosebumps. I love stoick and his death rips me apart every time I see that scene. He was an amazing character. And cause I’ve watched the movies recently, I wanted to honor him with a fanart. Let me know what you think!

I am also so here for this kind of Fanfics and Posts. The Drama, the tension, the hiccstrid…just wonderful. I hope it will start a new trend and we will get more of these kind of Fanfics and Content. I Wonder how httyd2 - 3 would look like if Zephyr came earlier into this world? Does Hiccup and Astrid want another child after this kind of accident? Have they also enough time for each other to figure out their relationship while raising the baby? Have both of them fears about being partners? How Astrid deals with pregnancy?

Also I can highly recommend this modern hiccstrid au. I really enjoyed it and can’t wait for the continuation. It’s also about them having a Baby but this fanfic is a Masterpiece. I really loved it. So touching🥹. The first I find and now it’s one of my favorites. I can’t even describe how much I adore this story.

I love httyd3 and I am not ashamed to say it out loud! I like the message, the scenery, Hiccup and Toothless‘ growth on both sides, Hiccstrid, the relationship between the riders, the hidden world, how all was done with so much love and care, the depths behind many scenes, the epilogue, the song together from afar, the fact that the third movie expands everything in such a beautiful way, the emotional moments that hit really hard, the flashbacks with Stoick, the theme of love, the fact that everyone has something to do in this film,…

Idk care if other people say the movie is bad or mid, I like this movie because I love Hiccup and Toothless‘ Story. I love Httyd with all my heart and I will not let the negativity ruin my experience with it.

Httyd3 Fans scream it out loud that you love this movie, it doesn’t matter what the fandom says aslong as you like this movie. I hope this movie will get more love as time goes on like Shrek 4 for example and I hope more people will say what they love about it and that the fans of thw will finally rise. If T9R fans can do it, so why couldn’t we? It doesn’t matter if people don’t like this movie or this show, this doesn’t automatically mean it’s bad.

I honestly really like how detailed and expressive Astrid is the hidden world and what I really like in this scene so much, that we see her cry. We saw Astrid cry twice in franchise, third if you include this scene now.

Can I just say that I absolutely love the overarching theme for HTTYD3 (or one of several). The idea that with love comes loss but love is still worth it. It’s not teaching this fairytale-ish notion that love heals all or love is the answer to everything and with love all of your problems are solved. There is, of course, a time and a place for those types of stories but this…This god damn so-called animated children’s film is teaching the notion that love and loss are a package deal. You cannot have one without the other; it’s unavoidable, it’s literally impossible and that sucks but that doesn’t make love any less worth it even for the short time that it might occur. That is such an important lesson to learn over the course of your life and the fact that it’s in a god damn kids movie is so amazing to me. It’s one of the most mature lessons I’ve ever seen in a children’s film. 

That along with learning how to let go and knowing when to let go and learning that…you know what? Sometimes you really do have to let go of things/people you love…my god, I love this film. 

I don’t know if someone of you ever had the feeling, you have to like something because other people do. I had sometimes the feeling regarding to some parts of the httyd franchise. Like for example, that I had to like the third movie less because of what some people said. I just want to love for what it is a satisfying finale to a great story. I love the whole franchise for what it is.
