An aspect of Edwin's character that interests me is that he has not just accepted death - he has embraced it. Like, he did not want to die, and Hell was an unfathomably horrific experience. But now, after three decades with Charles, it seems to be his preferred state. He was never happy when he was alive, and now he has the safety of having someone who unconditionally loves him. He's passionate about his cases and finds fulfillment. He knows that none of this would have happened if he lived, and he's probably right! I hate that for him!
