I made some gacha coroika images
its actually kind of hard to put my thoughts about goggles down into words.
the common perception of him is an annoying, dumb and overpowered- that anyone else would be better in the protagonist role and the manga itself would be more interesting without him.
goggles is actually... really smart. not book smart necessarily, but people smart. i dont think he even is fully aware of just how... you know, aware he is of the people around him. being able to spot out the weaknesses of every major antagonist so far and exploit them to use at his own advantage doesnt sound like goggles, but thats exactly what hes been doing! what comes out of his mouth is nonsense, but what goes on in his brain? he knows what hes doing in matches and to act like he only wins because of plot armour is straight up stupid.
the best example is actually xblood. goggles knew exactly how to help them, he could tell there was something wrong and other characters felt that too- but only goggles was the one to actually know truly what to do and be able to execute it.
in conclusion?
goggles is... basically therapy for the antagonists, and without him the manga would be so much more miserable and full of just hopelessness. its because hes goggles that the other characters are who they are currently.
