God I Love This Game - Tumblr Posts
My post about how Hollow Knight is a game about hope is making the rounds again, so I want to talk about how the music reflects that too, because I just listened to Sealed Vessel again and I’m having Feelings
So Sealed Vessel is an incredibly tragic and melancholic song, for obvious reasons, but what really gets me is how it ends. It doesn’t end with a bang or a flourish, or with further emphasis of the tragedy that came earlier in the song. It ends, instead, with quiet softness - the piano and flute rise, giving way to hushed and somber strings, which fade away as the solo piano rises one final time. It’s sad, yes, but not hopeless or grim. It’s cathartic. The world has been ruined, but maybe, just maybe, in time, things can heal. The cycle has come to an end. Its final notes hint at something better.
And in line with this, Dream No More is the only ending in which the final portion of the song plays in full!
In the Hollow Knight ending it’s completely cut, in Sealed Siblings it plays a small portion of the melody and ends on a note that feels tense and unfinished, and I’m not counting the Godmaster endings because they don’t feature THK’s theme at all. Dream No More is the only one that explicitly promises some kind of hope - the shades are finally at rest, Hornet is alive, and Hallownest’s ties with a power-hungry goddess are severed once and for all. There’s silence. There’s peace.
The world is still broken, the world is still permanently stained by tragedy, but there is hope for new growth through the cracks in the ruins and the music shows that, and I’m in love with it.
You know I find it so funny that none of Hi Fi Rush would have happened(or at least not in the same way) if only Kale didn't trow Chai's MP3.
Like he created his biggest enemy...on accident... because he was being a prick lmao-
Okay I don’t see a lot of people talking about it, so imma do it myself. Here is a non-spoiler way of talking about a Visual Novel I just played called “Winds of Change” by: Klace *ahem* S o... the art is amazing, and the story line while yes has a few issues, aren't that big, and the choices you can make are actually impactful to the story, while yes in general the same endings will play you can either have more characters, or less depending on how you played, not to mention the weight they have about such choices, plus the soundtrack is amazing. They leave some of the music on repeat in the background and while you can tell it never gets old especially when the story is so in your face, and I a heartless soulless husk of a being hasn't cried since Feb. 15, 2016 I actually almost cried at the end, of this game, and knowing me that is a feat. And while I can go back and replay it to get "better" choices, I think the ending i got was poetic and just to the characters that were apart of it. I get that the style won't be for everyone I EXTREMELY recommend this game to all furries, even if you aren't one it's a game you should give a shot it has given a time I wont forget soon, and I hope that the day I forget any of it is the day I die. Plus the 1-1 with the different characters are all natural and not really forced in my opinion so it leads to great chemistry with all of them. Anyways that’s just me. It’s like 25$ on Steam so if you can buy it, I hope you have a great as a time as I did while playing it.

Sure the game has problems, but there are still so many things about this game that are just so much fun to see and do. I still find myself just walkin' around Europa, strolling through the BrayTech facilities, or getting into all those little secret spots in the EDZ. The gunplay, the art direction, the soundtrack. Shaxx, Drifter and Saint are some of the most memorable announcers I've ever heard in a video game, I still get so hyped when Drifter whoops and claps after you invade and get four kills. The atmosphere of the game is so infectious, there's always SOMETHING to do if you don't mind just... Not optimizing stuff. Run a strike with just a sword, race from one end of Neomuna to the other with your fireteam, just sit back in the tower and soak up the vibes. And speaking of the tower, as negative as a lot of people are, some of the people you see in the tower are so kind and so funny. Very few games have situations like '20 complete strangers dropping everything to do a conga line or take a selfie together' happening at all, let alone become a regular occurrence. I love the game, and I don't think I ever won't, because at its core, the game is still such an incredibly unique experience that no other game could really capture.
Been too much hate going around for Destiny 2 lately. I still love and adore the game, play it every other day, and enjoy it every time. Anyone else want to throw some Destiny love out there?
