My running theory is that Nina thought that he meant it in a literal sense, AKA, if someone has very genuinely asked for death as opposed to as a sort of jest.

Another thing I considered was Metatrons tone, which also may have been a factor.

Point is, I genuinely don't know, and I feel like meeting the Metatron is, like, subconciously very intimidating.

what kind of dialogue is that. have you met humans

people would constantly be asking for death, jokingly or not so jokingly, actually it'd be a surprise when someone directly asks for a coffee, Nina should be regretting picking that name every single day that brings clients who think they're original

what the hell, "no one asks for death". we ask for death at the merest inconvenience.

Imagine: Maggie and Nina trying to cheer Crowley up to Chiquitita by abba

Me: if I dont have some coffee soon I might die. bestie: why dont you just drink some water? Me: why dont you mind your businuess?

Do you ever think about how Aziraphale maybe didn’t choose Heaven over Crowley or heaven to make it better but maybe he knew he didn’t have a choice when the Metatron offered him the coffee or death (yk because it’s called give me coffee or give me death) and Aziraphale knew he had to take the coffee (meaning the Metatrons offer) or else it would mean death and the Metatron even asks Nina if anyone ever chooses death…

I love how the music playing in Give Me Coffee or Give Me Death when Crowley and Aziraphale are inside is a Violin (Or Viola) version of Bohemian Rhapsody
