In my opinion actor Matthew Fox, who played Jack Shepard in the 2004 TV series Lost, would be a perfect choice to play the male Commander Shepard from Mass Effect.

age appropriate sansa stark fancasting resource

So, as you all know, Sansa is 11 at the start of A Song of Ice and Fire and around the time of AFFC/ADWD she’s around 14. That makes her pretty challenging to fancast and most of the actresses/models that are popularly fancast as her are a good deal older than her actual age in the books. So here, I’m going to share some of my favorite and most popular fancasts for book!Sansa, and tell you where you can find footage for them. This is by no means an exhaustive list and feel free to add your own suggestions! Some of these actors don’t have red hair so if anyone wants a tutorial on how to change someone’s hair color then let me know and I’ll make one.

Note on ages: As a general rule of thumb, movies and tv shows usually film about one year before they’re actually released so that is where I’m getting the ages.

Layla Burns

image

Layla is a child actress and I can’t find her birthdate online but according to a website called Mandy Acting that seems to represent her she is 14 years old. She appears in the series Outlander (far right) and footage from that show have sometimes been used as a fancast for Sansa. While her outfits in that show don’t really work for book Sansa it can work if you need a gif. She appears in the episodes 3x08 “First Wife” and 4x07 “Down the Rabbit Hole.” However the REAL reason I’m suggesting her is because of a photoshoot she did with Darja Bilyk in 2017 that features several images of her wearing a crown (middle)! Check it out here. (If you’re having trouble saving the pictures on that site, try switching to mobile.)

Rachel Hurd-Wood

image

Footage from Perfume: The Story of a Murderer (2006) is sometimes used as a Sansa fancast (middle). Rachel would have been around 15 when that movie was filmed. If you want to go even younger, I suggest going back to Peter Pan (2003) where she would be 12.

Sadie Sink

image

Sadie Sink is probably the most popular fancast for book age Sansa right now, probably because she’s a teenage actress with red hair who started getting popular around when people first became disillusioned with the show. She is currently 18, has been a child actor since she was 10 and started playing Max in Stranger Things when she was 14. The main downside with Sadie as a fancast is that she hasn’t been in anything that can even remotely resemble period footage, however I’ve noticed quite a few people use this video she did with Miu Miu in their gifsets.

Dakota Blue Richards

image

Footage used is from the 2008 film The Secret of Moonacre. Dakota would have been around 13.

Mackenzie Foy

image

Footage from The Nutcracker and the Four Realms (2018) is sometimes used as Alayne. That movie had an unusually long post-production so Mackenzie actually would have been closer to 16 than 17 when it was filmed. Also it is worth mentioning that she is 13 and has red hair in the movie Interstellar (2014, middle).

Isolda Dychauk

image

At first I wasn’t going to bother including Isolda at all because I figured she had to be in her 20s but she’s actually 17 in the first season of Borgia: Faith and Fear. I consider that to be within the acceptable age range for book!Sansa, plus I have other 17 year olds on this list so I figured I’d include her. Isolda is also popularly fancast as Lysa a lot too. Definitely on the older side but I do like her as Sansa. She is also in the 2011 German film Faust (far right). I haven’t checked it in depth but the movie is set in the 1800s and seems to have some usable footage. You can find clips from the movie by searching for “faust 2011″ on YouTube but the first few videos look like they were recorded with someone’s phone so scroll down a bit.

Other

image

On the right is Laoise Murray who plays Elizabeth in the fourth season of The Tudors. I’ve seen a couple people use her and she would have been 13. Neither of the other two actors have been used as Sansa fancasts by anyone besides me but I thought it was worth mentioning anyways. Brooke Shields in Pretty Baby (1978, left) is 12 and a lot of the scenes could pass as period footage. I also had the idea of using 10-year-old Liesel Matthews in A Little Princess (1995, middle) as Sansa if anyone wants to try it.

That’s all! Thanks for reading and I hope this list helps you :)

I thought I’d offer Dakota Johnson in 2018’s Suspiria as a potential older Sansa or Catelyn! I think she resembles Lotte Verbeek who I see used a lot. I’m not requesting or anything just offering for people who may be looking for faceclaims!

Thanks for the suggestion!

Who is your favourite Sansa fancast?💕

Hi! Thank you so much for sending us this ask!!!❤️❤️❤️

To be honest, I like most of the popular Sansa fancasts. Right now, my favorites are Rachel Hurd-Wood and Isolda Dychauk. I also really like Layla Burns for 11 year old Sansa.

When it comes to using models as fancasts, my favorites are Daria Milky, Daria Sidorchuk and Julia Adamenko.

And of course Lotte Verbeek as older!Sansa is a classic.

TARGARYEN WEEK Day 1: Favourite Targaryens

“Baelon, he was named, after one of the Targaryen lords who had ruled Dragonstone before the Conquest, himself a second son. Though smaller than his brother, Aemon, at birth, the new babe was louder and lustier, and his wet nurses complained that they had never known a child to suck so hard. Only two days before his birth, the white ravens had flown from the Citadel to announce the arrival of spring, so Baelon was immediately dubbed The Spring Prince.” — Fire & Blood, Jaehaerys and Alysanne - Their Triumphs and Tragedies

“Prince Baelon lingered only long enough to partake of the feast that evening before galloping back to King’s Landing to complete his quest and become a dragonrider. Never one to be overshadowed, he had long since chosen the dragon he wished to mount, and now he claimed her. Unridden since the death of the Dowager Queen Visenya twenty-nine years before, the great she-dragon Vhagar spread her wings, roared, and launched herself once more into the skies, carrying the Spring Prince across Blackwater Bay to Dragonstone to surprise his brother Aemon and Caraxes.” — The Long Reign - Jaehaerys and Alysanne: Policy, Progeny, and Pain

“Baelon the Brave played his part in the slaughter, with Dark Sister in his hand. When he returned to King’s Landing with his brother’s corpse, the smallfolk lined the streets screaming his name and hailing him as a hero. But it is said that when he saw his mother again, he fell into her arms and wept. ‘I slew a thousand of them,’ he said, 'but it will not bring him back.'” — The Long Reign -  Jaehaerys and Alysanne: Policy, Progeny, and Pain

ELAENA TARGARYEN

Elaena said, in her later years, that it wasn’t his intelligence that made her love Ser Manwoody, but his love of music. He was known to play the harp for her, and when he died, Elaena commanded that his effigy be carved holding a harp, and not the sword and spurs of knighthood as is common.

I'm not usually much one for thinking of people to play characters, but if they get an Discworld film started that's got a decent budget and isn't... whatever was happening with The Amazing Maurice, J. K. Simmons could probably do a decent Ridcully.

So My Mom And I Picked Back Up Watching A Series Of Unfortunate Events On Netflix The Other Day, And

So my mom and I picked back up watching A Series of Unfortunate Events on Netflix the other day, and for the most part, I really do like it and I agree it’s a highly faithful adaptation of the books (though admittedly it’s been a while since I read them, but from what I recall, the series is doing quite well).

But one thing did bother me: their Lemony Snicket is not at all like I pictured him. No hate to Kronk; Kronk is doing a great job being the Lemony Snicket that he is. But like I said, he’s just not at all how I saw the character as I was reading him.

For one thing, given that his name is “Lemon-y”, I pictured him as blonde, perhaps strikingly so. For another thing, I just got the sense that book Lemony was a touch more shy and awkward, and I pictured him as a rather wiry kind of guy--not completely scrawny, thin but tough. That is to say, less strong-shouldered than Kronk. And recently, after a bit of thought, I realized that the Lemony I was picturing as I read looked more or less like a young Tom Petty.

I could just see Tom, fedora nestled on his soft blonde hair, hanging about libraries looking for clues regarding missing sugar bowls and odd, question-mark shaped creatures, penning lengthy coded love letters to a woman who regrettably cannot marry him, and watching grimly from the shadows as a number of dismaying tragedies befall that woman’s orphaned children. He has the perfect lemon-y hair, a suitably wiry frame, and just the right amount of quirky awkwardness in his smile, I believe.

(To clarify, I don’t think Tom’s deep, Southern speaking voice would necessarily suit Lemony, just his physical appearance, so this is just for the sake of visualization.)

And so, I present to you, young Tom Petty as Lemony Snicket. Well, really just a series of photos where he looks how I would picture Lemony as looking; I haven’t edited them or anything, just arranged them.

Anyways, young Tom Petty is just generally adorable and full of subtle swag. It’s always fun to look at pictures of him.
