In the heart of Gaza, where conflict continues and humanitarian conditions deteriorate painfully, I work as a doctor in a hospital. Despite all my efforts to save lives, my greatest concern remains the suffering of my family.
Unfortunately, the situation for my family has become even more dire. Their home has been completely destroyed due to the bombings, leaving them homeless. Tragically, my grandfather was killed while going to check on our house. Additionally, they are struggling to secure basic necessities because I have not received a monthly salary recently, which exacerbates their suffering.

Why is the western media not interviewing Palestinian civilians abducted by Israel? Harrowing testimonies. Israeli soldiers urinated on them, spat on them, starved them, beat them, gave them electric shocks, and kept them blindfolded & fettered in uncomfortable positions for days on end. Do people still not understand the gravity of this? I often think of one of the interviews that Bassem Youssef did with Piers Morgan -when Bassem responded to Piers' 'reflection' about a "proportional response" to the October 7th event, and Bassem replied with a story to highlight the disproportionate amount of systemic violence Palestinian people have and continue to face.
Bassem gave an example similar to this young boy's here about a young man losing everything -from his home and his family members. And Palestinian people are STILL expected to remain silent/to accept this unilateral oppression. So Bassem asks Piers what exactly is a 'proportional response' to violence?
There was also another interview did (if I recall correctly -it was a podcast), and Bassem then relates similar stories to the one I just mentioned above -as how young boys and later young adults are recruited in Hamas because the IOF has destroyed parts of their communities and has humiliated and killed their loved ones, and then, in turn, are labelled terrorists by many people/world leaders around the globe...
I don't think many can begin to comprehend what this little boy, and so many Palestinian children are going through right now. It's beyond horrific to see these barely five year olds begging and asking the world not to look away and to stop the 'war' so that they can go home. For anyone still silent about this, you're part of the problem and you're equally complicit.

It's actually really frightening to see officially sanctioned genocide denial rise up in Western countries in real time. Like, I remember 20 years ago hearing about how it was illegal in Turkey to point out that the Armenian Genocide happened, and how I thought that that was fucking evil and oppressive. Now here we are, with a campaign in Gaza that experts have called 'a textbook case of genocide', for which the UN Human Rights counsel has determined there are "reasonable grounds" to call it genocide, and the US Congress is trying to make it illegal to criticize Israel. We have Hollywood agencies refusing to represent anyone who points out that a genocide is currently taking place. And it's just the same shit from a fresh asshole as we got from the Turkish government over what happened in Armenia in the 1920s, like "Oh yes, there were killings, but...calling it genocide? Ohhhh, you must be very hateful to our poor little nation to think that our people are capable of that 😢 😭!" Fuck off.

how can i, a person who lives in such luxury, enjoy my life, when citizens of Gaza are being tortured and murdered, in plain daylight, for the world to see.
how can i turn on the lights in my house, sleep in my bed, eat the abundance of food and enjoy it, when citizens of Gaza are not afforded this right.
how can i sit by as hate crimes are being carried out across continents towards innocent people.
how can i stand by a genocide when i’ve said countless times that i would never see this happen again.
how can we as a world stand by a genocide when we have collectively made a promise that this would never happen again.
how can we as a world not only stand by but aid in the genocide of innocent people when we promised this would never happen again, when we put structures in place to ensure that this would not happen again.
one is too many, two is too many, but eighteen thousand seven hundred is certainly too many. it is not too late and it will not be too late until we call it a history that we are ashamed of.
how can we as a world look back and be ashamed of actions we took but not be more ashamed when the actions are repeated in front of our eyes.
