Editors - Tumblr Posts

No Harm; Editors.
Hi guys! Im looking to recruit some other writers and editors to be apart of my long term project im working on! (PLEASE REPOST)
Level of expertise doesnt matter as long as you have some writing to show me!
ABSOLUTELY NO MINORS!
This particular project has inappropriate scenes.
Someone who is very diverse in their writing! Please dont bother interacting if you refuse to write nsfw and gory scenes! (Not a dark romance story. I promise.)
I know i said level of expertise doesnt matter but if you dont use quotation marks and bold or center your entire work? Don’t interact!
If write for everything. Please shoot me a message! And make sure you have discord so we can talk their and maybe create a server for our projects!
I need someone I can trust not to pull a mark zuckerberg on me.
A hint about this story is that i want it to give "Interview with the Vampire" (the series) vibes.
I need someone i can bounce ideas off of and someone who can help me piece this story together!
Little hints about this story. First off its and original story!
Its a romance story. Real romance. Not edward and bella but ian and mickey real.
A villian-rumory orientated story about hellhounds. (Bc why are vampires and werewolves so much popular than hellhounds?) when i say villian i dont mean like marvel and dc supervillian. Just a bad guy.
My version of hellhounds will be born as wolves and later shift into their man (short for human not man) forms when they’re ready.
The name of this story is called "Reckoning"
I was originally going with FXM but with the story especially the romance/death part it makes more sense for it to be BXB. So if that makes you uncomfortable dont interact!
Please only serious inquiries only! I’ll share more later on! ABSOLUTELY NO MINORS!
Be ready to introduce yourself and have your works and links ready!
I hope to be friends for a long time and i wouldnt mind helping on your projects as well!

Thoughts On Having a Writing Partner

The first time I was published in the New Yorker was the most amazing thrill. A career highlight. Nothing will beat that feeling of seeing my drawing and idea printed in the pages of a magazine I’d been reading since I stole copies from my Dentist’s office in Perth. (Sorry, Dr Farrugia).
But there is an aspect to our trade with which every cartoonist or stand-up comic is intimately familiar: and that is the solitude of being a ‘one-man-band’. For the highest of highs (rare) and the lowest of lows (frequent), there is nobody to share it with, outside of an on-looking spouse or a flatulent dog at your feet.
This week’s issue of the New Yorker prompted me to write this post about teaming-up with a fellow comedy writer for writing cartoons, since it may well be the record for the most publicly acknowledged* cartoonist duos in an issue of the New Yorker. *(Gag writers never used to be credited. I’ll explain below**.)
In 2018, after 15 years of freelancing as a cartoonist and having been published many times flying solo, I started collaborating with my friend and fellow comic, Scott Dooley to share the frequent anxiety (and sporadic joy) of submitting New Yorker cartoons.
I hadn’t done this before and immediately found it so enlightening. Watching one of my own ideas go through the filter of somebody else’s comedy brain-wiring and come out the other end with a lateral tag or alt. punch I’d never have considered myself was addictive, and it suddenly clicked as to why there were such things as ‘writers rooms’. (I’m slow on the uptake.)

Writing Tips Pt. 4 - Beta Readers
Since I just had a long post about commonly mixed-up words, many of which would escape a basic spellcheck, how do we handle that (and other writing gaffes that the most basic of tools will miss)?
You get a beta reader. Or hire an editor or proofreader. Or sign up with a publishing company that will assign you an editor.
Beta readers, editors, etc. can generally do a few different things for your writing, which is something you will need to discuss for whoever you sign on to help you out. Whoever it is, though, make sure they're someone you trust to actually know English well—or whichever language you'll be writing in—since the idea is for them to help you with your writing and catch the mistakes you make.
If English is not your first language, make doubly sure to get a beta reader who is fluent. Yes, Google Translate can be fairly decent, but you should still have someone fluent check it over, if only for the grammar.
