FREAKS!!
I always knew HBO could never adapt something good from Dorne, the people who were excited about Baelor, I'm sorry, should have this waited from the moment they changed the color of the Velaryon.

A Knight of The Seven Kingdoms - “Ser Duncan the Tall and Lady Rohanne Webber” by Gary Gianni
since HBO adaptations of ASoIaF world tend to fuck the canon and books, can we please have Lady Dyanna Dayne alive in Dunk and Egg series?
You know to make it more feminist keep her alive? Show us Starfall and more of Dorne? Tell us more about Daella and Rhae? Daenora Targaryen? Kiera of Tyrosh? Please. ☺️
How can one not love Egg?

preasoiaf appreciation week ( @preasoiafsource): day 6 (monarchs) ♛ Aegon V Targaryen
Though beloved by the smallfolk, King Aegon made many enemies amongst the lords of the realm, whose powers he wished to curtail. He enacted numerous reforms and granted rights and protections to the commons that they had never known before, but each of these measures provoked fierce opposition and sometimes open defiance amongst the lords. A student of history and lover of books, Aegon V was oft heard to say that had he only had dragons, as the first Aegon had, he could have remade the realm anew, with peace and prosperity and justice for all.

Lord Reyne, The Red Lion

"And who are you, the proud lord said,
that I must bow so low?
Only a cat of a different coat,
that's all the truth I know.
In a coat of gold or a coat of red,
a lion still has claws,
And mine are long and sharp, my lord,
as long and sharp as yours."
I've mentioned before that painting these miniatures often means spending hours thinking about a character you've never given a second thought, and I don't know if that's ever been as true as in this case. I couldn't have told you one thing about Lord Roger Reyne, beyond him being the "proud lord" from the song.
I was looking to fill out my Ninepenny Kings battle scene, and I had a lot of these lion headed guys, so I thought a young Tywin would be fun. However, I had a reread of the Ninepenny Kings section, and the ridiculous amount of writing George did for the WOIAF Westerlands section that ended up being cut, and a bit of a narrative formed. The Westerlands armies were led by Jason Lannister in place of Tywin's father, but he was killed quickly and Roger became the leader of the Westerland forces. We also know Tywin never leads from the front and avoids fighting where possible, which he certainly frames as pragmatism, but we know how Westerosi culture values a martial lead-by-example warrior, and Tywin is very tapped into Westerosi masculinity. Finally, we know that before the brutal rains of Castamere, an injured, feverish Lord Reyne challenged Tywin to single combat, which Tywin refused in favour of a massacre.
From all of this, I wonder if Tywin had his first taste of real combat on the Stepstones - and realised he wasn't cut out for it. Seeing his uncle cut down before him, he didn't take up the noble Lannister mantle and lead his fathers vassals, he stood back and let the natural warrior Lord Reyne take the... reins. (Sorry). And maybe that resentment fed into his brutality to the Reynes and Tarbecks. And when an older, possibly elderly Lord Roger challenged him to single combat - debilitated by a crossbow wound which had gone septic - Tywin still couldnt quite escape being that scared lad, seeing this powerful red lion take his rightful glory, and chose to massacre hundreds of innocents rather than face that fear.
Or maybe I'm making all of this up. He was a fun mini to paint, nice doing a Lannister style with a change of palette. I was torn finding a balance between the white and red, and I'm happy with how it turned out.

It is so absurd disrespectful tactless and stupid I hate the casting and I hate that I hate it because I was genuinely excited before
Okay but genuinely what are we doing here. Why would you do that. That’s so fucking stupid okay— THE WHOLE THING. THE WHOLE THING WAS THAT WESTEROS IS DEEPLY RACIST. AND THATS WHY THE BLACKFYRE REBELLION HAPPENED. THATS LITERALLY THE WHOLE THING. RACISM. AND THEN— and then!! — YOU GO AHEAD AND TAKE THOSE CHARACTERS. THE ONES WHOSE DORNISH APPEARANCE IS THE WHOLE FUCKING THING. AND YOU DO WHAT? You do. WHATTTTT????

AFFC Brienne III / Brienne’s ancestor Dunk in “The Sworn Sword”

Dunk and Egg Harrenhal Halloween Episode. and scene. Egg tries to swim to the isle of faces and has to get fished out by a pretty fisherman’s daughter because Dunk can’t remember if he knows how to swim. Comes out with a cool rock that Dunk immediately throws back into the God’s Eye, threatening to clout him on the ear. He does not clout Egg on the ear. An old old man tells Dunk he dreamed of him, and that his dreams come true because his mother was a witch and that he should watch out because he dreamed of a big bat descending on him to kill. Recurring bit where Dunk is about to eat whatever people meat pie the Lothstons are serving up but keeps getting interrupted. An old woman Egg meets once who no one else can corroborate the existence of tells him there’s a dragon egg in the basement. He gets lost looking for it and only gives up when the walls start screaming at him. Dunk and some rivermen are getting paid to shore up the inner walls but it takes forever because people keep disappearing. Eventually they accidentally break into a sealed-off room filled with gnarled, burnt-out skeletons. No one can recall when they’re from. Danelle Lothston notices that Duncan the tall is tall, gives him some of the good wine, and is like come over for dinner tomorrow ;) Dunk gets spiked with the crazy blood potion and there’s a freaky weirwood dream sequence involving no fewer than 2 summerhall foreshadowings and 3 bear and the maiden fair references. Danelle Lothston is fixing to eat Dunk the next day but right as she’s about to get him alone Egg comes out like SER DUNCAN I SAW A GHOST. It looked like a WOMAN COVERED IN BLOOD she was wandering the halls near the dungeons and the kitchen. Dunk threatens to clout him on the ear because that’s not real. Lady Lothston is like actually look at the time I’ve got to go and it looks like you do, too. Dunk gets smacked in the head by a bat he didn’t see nesting in the hallway and thinks it’s a ghost for a second. Egg laughs at him. Dunk threatens to clout him on the ear. He does not clout Egg on the ear. Punchline at the end where on their way out Dunk finally gets to eat dinner and is wow like the high lords have everything and yet they’re also serving the same kind of pork that we eat in flea bottom. Queer.

If HBO favors the Greens over the Blacks (probably because the Blacks are Dany's direct ancestors), I kinda fear a Dunk and Egg show playing favorites with Aerion over Egg for the same reasons. Also wouldn't be surprised if every female character in Dunk and Egg gets turned into a passive, sobbing knock-off Sansa like Alicent is in HOTD (at least book Alicent is more interesting, even though I find both versions of the character to be pretty vile people).
I'm hoping that if HBO does choose to do a Dunk and Egg show, they'll have better show runners than Condal and Hess, but I'm not holding my breath. If they choose to follow the HOTD model, here's how I think it'd go:
Maekar actually married his wife, Dyana Dayne, when she was fifteen, while he was thirty-two (don't think about the timeline, just watch the fun marital rape scenes!). Dyana is actually a repressed lesbian who's in love with her handmaid. Maekar doesn't care about any of his children, instead he's obsessed with medieval legos!
Daeron's visions make him be completely unable to have conversations with people, he just whispers ominously in a corner. Aerion isn't actually a sadistic asshole who tormented his little brother by the way. No, he's just sooo misunderstood and no one bothered to teach him that killing animals and threatening to mutilate his brother is wrong! Aemon is completely devoted to the Faith and hates his heathen family members but he still wants to be a dragon rider for some reason.
Daella wants to be a man, she hates womanhood, motherhood, and femininity! She wants to be a knight, but never actually does anything to try to pursue those dreams, just mentions it once in the first episode. Rhae exists, maybe.
Meanwhile, Aegon, despite being a titular character, doesn't get as much screen time as his more "interesting siblings". No, he's doing things, maybe, meanwhile we get to watch random rape scenes and Aerion jack off a few times. Duncan is far from your stereotypical noble knight, oh no, he's a borderline psychopath when he doesn't get his way, but somehow is still redeemable? He also actually did kidnap Aegon, Daeron didn't smuggle him out, he did this because Daella slept with him but refused to run away with him.
This is a joke post, but I'm truly genuinely scared of how HBO would handle a Dunk and Egg adaptation. Neither HOTD nor GOT are actually good adaptations, they both ignore important plot points and themes. Dunk and Egg would just become a mess of "subverted expectations" and sexist fake feminism.

The light was so dim that Jaime could scarcely see her, though they stood a scant few feet apart. In this light she could almost be a beauty, he thought. In this light she could almost be a knight. Brienne’s sword took flame as well, burning silvery blue. The darkness retreated a little more. […]
Brienne moved her longsword back and forth, watching the silvery flames shift and shimmer. Beneath her feet, a reflection of the burning blade shone on the surface of the flat black water. She was as tall and strong as he remembered, yet it seemed to Jaime that she had more of a woman’s shape now.
//
Drowsing at long last, Dunk dreamed. He was running through a glade in the heart of Wat’s Wood, running toward Rohanne, and she was shooting arrows at him. Each shaft she loosed flew true, and pierced him through the chest, yet the pain was strangely sweet. He should have turned and fled, but he ran toward her instead, as if the very air had turned to honey. Another arrow came, and yet another. Her quiver seemed to have no end of shafts. Her eyes were grey and green and full of mischief. Your gown brings out the color of your eyes, he meant to say to her, but she was not wearing any gown, or any clothes at all.
