Do you think Dante would have a role in helping Nero and Vergil have… an actual bond with each other?
Oh absolutely. They're both emotionally constipated, hard-headed, stubborn idiots (affectionate), and i dont really see them bonding on their own without Dante to aid at least in the start of their relationship.
Also adding in the fact that Dante has known Vergil and Nero a lot longer than they've ever known eachother, therefore he'd probably be a lot better at having them get along than they would themselves.
While yes, Vergil is much less closed off now post-V, he's still Vergil. And Vergil has always been a loner type, its a habit that's rooted much deeper than anything V could force out of him. He's just used to being on his own, its what he's known his entire life and its what he's used to, so i think without somebody to initiate interactions with him or even force him to actively socialize with everyone else around him (aside from Dante), he'd probably choose to avoid that 9 times out of 10.
That isn't to say that Nero and Vergil wouldn't have their moments on their own, however. As much as Vergil likes being alone, its apparent he doesnt want to abandon Nero entirely (the V book, and that menu screen where they're sitting together are evidence of this). He just struggles to show his affection, again he's been alone his entire life so it makes sense really. Its not that he doesn't want to, he just doesn't know how. Yet.
As they get to know eachother, as Vergil grows more comfortable with and more importantly, familiar with Nero as a person and as his son, i feel like he'd try more often to interact with him.
But yeah, in the earlier stages of their relationship - keep in mind Vergil has only properly known Nero for all of about 10 minutes. (Yes he knew him as V, but likely not much further past "that kid who had Yamato".) - Dante or Nero himself would likely be the ones initiating things with Vergil first.
Thinking about how Dante was willing to go through the trauma and grief of killing his brother again after he came back and did more bad shit because he didn’t want Nero to go through it and it hurts ;-; the writers make my sweetheart suffer so much and for what?
Do you think Vergil would eat pizza with olives just to piss off Dante?
Yes, but as soon as Dante isnt looking he spits them out because olives are nasty
also on my list of silly childhood things for the sparda twins, I think it would be funny if they had a habit of sticking their hands into fire because they like how warm it is, terrifying eva who at first doesn't realize her children are apparently partially fireproof, and later doesn't want to test just how fireproof they are.

In more recent time I’ve been rewatching the dmc anime with my friend(s) [one of them shows up once in a while to watch an episode or two]
Honestly I’ve had trouble navigating procreate and using the brushes and stuff opposed to my all knowing knowledge of Ibis but I wanted to give procreate a try again since that’s where my magnum opus in sketching shines, coloring though god for me it’s hard and I feel like my skills just wane.
I had a lot of fun with the different brushes even though the coloring didn’t come out the way I wanted it.
Anyways the drinking thing, well in the anime ending Dante has some bottles around him so I just made this with that thought in mind since he is clearly grieving during that whole season.

DMC Questions Anon here!
What sort of things would the DMC characters be into? What would their favorite medias be, who would their favorite characters be, their favorite dynamics, their favorite ships? Favorite things about it? Would they try and have any involvement in the fandom space online? If so, what sort of involvement?
Apologies for the late reply lol, got busy and forgot this ask was sent hejshhshd
Ill do them in order:
Dante: Well we know he's into smutty magazines and maybe even a bit of collecting, seeing how cluttered the office appears to be. This makes me thing he'd be into more retro things like old arcade machines, specifically those 1v1 combat games, and i can also see him reading old superhero comic books. (For anybody that knows the game, i can see him enjoying Dead or Alive too lmao)
He doesnt strike me as the sort to enter a fandom space and be an active participant, but i can imagine him enjoying discussing it with close friends like Lady/Nero or maybe even Trish. A casual enjoyer, i imagine he is.
Shipping too i feel like he'd try and be casual about... but we all know he secretly has an OTP that if they do not get together by the end of the series he will Lose It.
Vergil: Novels, poetry, theatre too. Also a secret Y/A novel enjoyer. By virtue of spending a good chunk of his life in the underworld and/or a bit disconnected from society while on the run as a kid, i imagine he isn't too well versed in fandom culture (does he even know what a fandom is?) But if prompted, would gladly yap to you for hours about his favourite literatures, the characters, the stories, etc. Enjoys all genres, but has a preference for darker themes and dark fantasy.
I dont think he'd be too into shipping, he strikes me as someone who'd rather analyse and break down his favourite media untill its shreds on the floor rather than pairing his favourites together. Dante despises when Vergil tries to get all analytical and point out broken physics on his favourite series when he's just trying to be a casual enjoyer lol (he secretly enjoys hearing his twin actually happy enjoying something for once, but would never admit that even over Eva's grave)
Nero: A total fandom nerd in his free time, mainly whatever TV shows were able to air in Fortuna and his favourite bands too. Can talk for hours about the intricate lore, the characters and the stories of his favourite media much like his father, however when it comes to analyzing stuff and deriving a deeper meaning from context clues, Nero would rather just enjoy things as they're presented to him. Strikes me as the type to mostly enjoy classic hero vs villian stories, and is a bit of a wimp with horror though he swears up and down he can handle it no problem.
Since Fortuna is pretty cut off from the outside world, and internet doesnt seem to be a very prominent thing in the DMC universe (if it even exists at all), i dont imagine he'd be too aware of larger fandom spaces. But i can see him having his own group of friends in Fortuna who share common interests with him, and they discuss the media together (possibly even friends from the Order or maybe even his time in the orphanage.)
Shipping, absolutely. Has multiple pairings and a few he depises for whatever reason, isnt too concerned about whats canon and whats not canon, and will gladly re-imagine the lore to suit his needs.
When it comes to his music, he will 100% make you a playlist or 5 of his favorite bands, what he things you'd like, what he recommends to try, and maybe even some he doesnt like just for fun. Much like me, Nero cannot live without his music.
For the others, ill do them kinda brief but i can expand on them if people wanna hear more:
Lady: Casual enjoyer of various media, mainly TV shows, but very much likes shipping and will happily debate over her pairings. Has a secret love for horror.
Trish: A bit like Vergil in the sense that she likes analyzing media and diving into the deeper meaning of everything. Likes shipping but less to pair cute couples, and more to explore various relationship dynamics and whatnot. Likes romance and cheesy stuff, but also really enjoys some darker genres sometimes too.
Nico: The kind of person who has to get into the physics and realism of everything in her favorite media, pointing out what does and doesnt make sense both within the fictional world and their "real world", and loves pointing out references to things whenever she can. Also takes inspiration from various media for her creations. Most of her favorite genres might be considered childish, but that just makes them even cooler to her.
Kyrie: A sucker for a good romance novel, she says she's just a casual enjoyer and not that deep into the fandom, but she has cried when her OTP didnt get together by the end of the book.
Lucia: Dumary seems pretty dead so i dont think theres much going on there to get into fandom-wise, but if Lucia were to get into something i imagine she'd enjoy watching rom-coms with Kyrie and Trish, the three of them debating their favourite pairs and laughing at all the cheesy moments. Much like Kyrie, she's a sucker for a good romance plot.

Dante's reaction to a seriously injured S/O
I cannot sleep so you know what that means... angst ft. Dante and a gender neutral s/o [tw for blood, broken bone, description of wounds]
You were on a job with Dante, faced with thinning out a hoard of demons. Dante was somewhere else, probably further behind but just within earshot. Too preoccupied with work, it took you by surprise when, suddenly, you tripped over a loose cinderblock and took a tumble. It was all a blur, but you managed to shake it off and try to get back on your feet, only stopping when you noticed you couldn't move your leg.
When Dante eventually caught up to you, the first thing he noticed was you, sitting on the ground, oblivious to the Hell Caina that was about to take a swing to your head.
A loud shot rang out in the air, startling you out of your stupor and turning your attention to the man clad in red that was headed your way.
"What the hell kid? I thought you-" Dante trailed off. You watched as his face fell. He saw your leg, a dark red liquid beginning to make a trail down your calf. It was a clean break, part of your bone jutting out of your skin. He noticed that you didn't look scared or worried, just a bit dazed.
"Oh... I uhm..." You mumbled and moved to stand back up, but Dante was quick to stop you, crouching to put his hand firmly on your shoulder. Suddenly, it hit you what had happened and you started to panic. You couldn't feel your toes, much less move anything below the knee.
Dante tried his best to calm you, reassuring you that he's been through much worse and, look, he turned out fine! Safe to say: that did not help.
"Look... I- I'll just patch it up for you and it'll all be okay."
No. No no no no. You adamantly (and quite loudly) demanded to be looked at by a professional. Dante eventually gave in and called Nico.
The whole ride there, Dante did anything he could think of to keep your mind off of it. He still smiled and cracked jokes. At one point, he even found a deck of cards and tried a few basic magic tricks. Pick a card, any card. And for the most part, it seemed to work.
In the weeks following he'll definitely laugh at the sight of you in a cast, but at the same time he's the best when you just want to complain about it. He waits on your every beck and call.
You gruff at the bottom of the stairs in Dante's office. It seems like such a daunting task now that one of your legs had been incapacitated. Dante swallows a laugh from behind his desk.
"Oh come on," you call out to him, "It's not like I have magical demon healing powers."
He gets up from his desk in a flourish and walks over to where you stand.
"Trust me, if I could give them to you, I would." He says as he picks you up off the ground and plants a kiss to the top of your head.

How well can the DMC5 characters dance? Will they dance with their s/o? ft. Dante, Vergil, Nero, V, Lady, Trish, and Nico with an s/o who wants to bust a move!
Dante:
Yes he’s been waiting for this moment.
He loves loves loves to dance. His dance moves though? Not the best, but they are charming in their own way.
Dante is that uncle at every reception who carries the dance floor with sheer gusto.
He’s happy to dance with you in any occasion, but his favorite dances are when you two are alone in his office listening to his jukebox.
It doesn’t matter if you think you are bad at dancing. He guarantees he’s five times worse. He embraces his bad dancing and it makes you more confident as well.
Vergil:
He’d love to dance with you. You’d have to ask him first though.
Likes when you two dance in front of a crowd. It gives him an ego boost and it lets everyone around you two know that you are his and he’s yours.
Dance off between you & Vergil and Nero & Kyrie at Nero’s wedding reception
He likes slow dancing with you. He’ll let you step on his feet as he guides you both.
He knows how ballroom dance and waltz as well😏 He’ll teach you how someday so you both can wow everyone on the dance floor next time.
He’d love to take you out ballroom dancing one day. Dream date idea.
Nero:
No rhythm. Just vibes. Go white boy, go!
He’ll be a bit embarrassed, especially if you are in front of a lot of people, but he’ll still dance with you regardless.
You have to pull him up and coax him to let loose on the dance floor. Eventually he’ll warm up to dancing and be less stiff.
He knows he’s not the best at dancing, he didn’t inherit the dancing genes from his father. He’ll still have a good time though, you’ll just have to show him how.
V:
He’s ever the gentleman of course he’ll dance with you. Especially in front of a crowd. His chest swells with pride to know that everyone can see you both.
He’ll kiss your knuckles and guide you on the dance floor.
He’s not as seasoned at ‘freeform’ dancing though. You get to teach him that.
You are in Nico’s van, playing different records until one makes your ears perk up. You ask V to dance with you and he only smiles sheepishly.
Pull him up from his seat on the couch and make him dance with you. He’ll be hesitant at first, but he’ll still try to keep up with your pace.
Griffon will definitely poke fun at you both.
Lady:
She’ll be hesitant to dance, she’s never danced with anyone before so she’s not sure if she’s going to be good or not.
Assure her that no one will judge.
You’ll have to take the lead when you two dance together.
Be as wild as you want on the dancefloor. Make her laugh. She’ll be more open afterwards.
She’s more likely to let loose when you two are dancing alone.
Trish:
She’s more one to sit back and watch you dance. When you ask her to dance with you, it takes a lot of convincing until she gives in.
A very hesitant dancer, but she also hates being outdone. If anyone is dancing better than you two, no they aren’t. She’ll outdo them.
She won’t ballroom dance. She doesn’t know how and she doesn’t really feel like learning. Maybe if you ask really nicely she’ll do it for you.
She’ll have fun on the dancefloor. Even if it’s just from watching you having fun dancing.
Nico:
Takes pride in her ability to shake ass to any song.
She’ll grind on you a lil if you let her. She can get very rowdy on the dancefloor.
Definitely starts a conga line at some point.
She will dance with anyone, especially you. If you didn’t ask her to dance first she’d probably be dragging you up to the floor to dance at the first song she recognizes.
Nero will refuse to be her dancing partner. He can’t handle her rowdy antics. He’ll give you a nod as if to say ‘Thank you for putting up with her for me.’
10x more crazy when drunk. Be warned.
