One of my favourite things to do when looking at paintings with Cronus eating his children is trying to quess who is he eating this time.
Here are my assumptions:
Hestia: the fact that he felt the need to dismember her first suggests the probability that it's the first time when he's eating an infant. Also, Rhea's "WTF?!" face.

Demeter: Demeter is usually described as having blonde hair.

Hera: She is considered his favourite child, so it's really nice of him to show her the world first (even upside down) before eating her.

Hades: This one is as pale as a ghost's butt, and I always imagined Hades being pale af. Also, this time the child has a pp.

Poseidon: I like the idea that Cronus became crazier and crazier with each child eaten to the point of completely losing his mind, so I'm fond of the possibility that his most famous painting depicts him taking a bite from his last devoured baby.

Cronus was usually associated with different symbols, from the traditional scythe, sickle and grain, to more contemporary ones such as the hourglass or the clock since he's the titan of time.
However, I like him being depicted with a less common one: the ouroboros, or the snake that eats his own tail. The ouroboros is interpreted as a symbol of the cycle of life, death, rebirth etc. But the main reason why I prefer it in the first place is because the serpent eating his own tail implies the fact that he's desperate to survive, yet devouring himself ultimately leads to his own ending.
Cronus desperately ate his children in the hope that the prophecy won't come true in this way. Which ultimately led to Rhea hidding Zeus from him and, in the end, to his own dethronement.

RIP Cronus, You Would've Loved "Eat Your Young" by Hozier.
When I was thirteen I didn't know that Cronus turned into a horse in order to sleep with a nymph without Rhea's knowledge (hence how Chiron was conceived), and for one reason or another I had for a very long time the impression that Cronus fell one day, accidentally ejaculated on earth (Gaia) and this is how Chiron appeared.
The worst part is that this is Greek Mythology, so it's not like it's impossible.
It took me centuries to figure out that one of my favourite dynamics from fiction is the problematic father-daughter one, where the father is either a villain or a very morally grey figure and the daughter has mixed thoughts and feelings about it, but ultimately wants to be loved by him.

would you ever draw crokat? maybe even witth dub-con if that's ok...
Sorry anon, it kinda turned into noncon territory, and probably isn’t really what you had in mind D: Warning for #noncon and #emotional abuse I suppose. I was in a pretty grumpy mood when I did this, and it probably shows. The idea was that Karkat and Cro actually talked about Karkat’s experiences and worries or whatever somehow, and then it all goes downhill. Stuff like this works way better in written form, but sadly I can’t write for shit, so here we are ┐(ツ)┌
(Seriously, if you are unsure, don’t click the read more. Also, Croski is really rude in this (to put it mildly), so if that ain’t your thing, please do not read this either!)
And here’s a link to the better quality version.
