Small Tips For ClipStudio
I have some hours before work so I’ll use them to actually detail why I’ve found CSPaint to be so efficient for bastard-aligned painters who like to take shortcuts.
This will seem familiar to most of you guys, but this functions a little bit different from Photoshop. It turns everything you draw on the layer into editable curves, but retains the aliased smoothness of an ordinary raster layer. Practically a cheat to access the whole suite of amazing tools CS offers for lineart. Such as:
The vector eraser is The Best™. You can be as messy as possible and this tool erases the excess. One pen-flick and it’s done. Much faster than cleaning it up by hand. You can also tweak the settings of this brush to encapsulate more/less lines as you erase but that’s getting a little more involved. Anyway, last thing:
Maybe the only thing better than the vector eraser. There are multiple settings, but these three are the most handy. You can smooth wiggly edges, connect broken strokes, and tweak the width/weight to exactly how you want it. This also has a ton of settings you can play around with. It’s great!
There’s a lot more tools you can use, but you get the point! It’s a really good drawing program. I recommend it!

What are some brushes you like to use?
these are all clip studio brushes i think all of them are free also !!!! realised i have so many brushes downloaded (gatherer instinct <3) but never use most of them except these
lineart:
wrinkles pen
ink-oily pen (the first one) (i thiiiiink this is my other lineart pen but im not sure)
used to use the default clip studio g pen almost always but now not so much
colouring etc:
hoarse oil (painty)
scratchy colouring (brush for filling large areas with texture altho i also just do this by hand a lot)
default clip studio glitter pen
7clubs glitch pen
glitch brush set (genuinely so so good)
retro halftone set (comic book dot texture with little misprint bits i love this one as well)
1. Yeah! I looked up a tutorial so I don’t remember how, but it’s very doable! 2. I uploaded a default photoshop brush to clip so it’s not fancy. Idk if I recommend the brush, I’m just familiar with it so it made the move to clip easy. My default brush looks like this: Set to transfer/pen pressure

Just bought Clip Studio Pro, I’m going to be switching over from using ibis paint and photoshop to this because I prefer the layout more (and my Adobe license is through the school so who know when it’ll expire.)
This is a sketch I’m working on to get a feel of the program. I plan on finishing this art piece soon, and I will also post that to this blog!
This is just so much more efficient for me in the long term, because in my opinion ibis paint is not as professional of a drawing program, and photoshop is too expensive for me to use it only part time.
