My Thoughts on Chaz's Purpose
So I found out that Chaz, the horny-ass shark demon in Exes and Oohs, was created solely, if not mostly, to prove that the creator wasn't afraid to kill off their characters. I instantly disagreed.
I'm not sure if anyone's ever said this before - and I mean everything that I'm going to say, not just the rest of this sentence - but Viv has killed characters before. Multiple times. The whole premise of her show is that a group of imps go to the human world to kill off people for the citizens of Hell who pay for such services. Even if Viv strayed away from that to focus on a romance between two characters I don't really care for, she at least started off with that premise.
Was Chaz and his fate just to prove that Viv can kill off named characters? Well, that's rendered a moot point because, right off the bat, we have Murder Family, the very first episode of the series proper. There's Martha and Mrs. Mayberry, who died in their debut episodes and we at least feel more for Mrs. Mayberry than we can for Chaz in his own. And hey, as much as we learn little about those two ladies in their debut episode before dying and never coming back again, at least they just seem to be intended to be one time characters so they have that excuse.
Even before the Helluva Boss series starting officially, there's Eddie in the pilot, who also died in his debut episode. So Chaz really doesn't have any significance to the whole 'proving-I-can-kill-characters' thing. The only significance he really has is adding more to Moxxie's backstory. Millie's, too, if that was scrapped. Because yeah, I heard that was going to be included, Millie's backstory with Chaz, but it was taken out when the episode was made.
(Funny thing, Chaz is meant to be hated for being a hyper-sexual jerkass and I enjoyed him far more than I ever did Blitz, who is basically the same thing as Chaz but with more backstory and in a protagonist spot)
Moments of Stupidity 11
Well, now we reached the episode that taught me that this show is full of morons and plots only happen because of that so this oughta be fun :)
Exes and Oohs -
So first stupid moment goes to Blitzo, for keeping pictures so obviously not safe for work at work. In fact, he kept them right in the damn filing cabinet. Seriously, you couldn't even keep them in a fucking safe like the one I know you have?
Next, both Blitzo and Millie were idiots for never suspecting that there's a damn reason Moxxie never talked about his past and doesn't want to be in Greed. Fuck seriously, Blitzo has been the one who never wants anyone prying into his past and that's because there's serious shit in that part of his life that makes him not want to talk about it. Well, Millie, Blitzo, you seriously couldn't figure that it's the same thing with Moxxie? In fact, Moxxie displayed apprehension and fear and discomfort pretty damn clearly when he found out he was going to Greed and even outright said that he sore to never come back. Yet you two still couldn't clue anything together? You were even made to sleep in separate rooms from each other, and that included the married couple!
Especially Millie, who's all 'why haven't I met your father before?' or 'you never told me any of this'. If anything, that was your biggest red flag that something was wrong, Millie. You have been married to Moxxie for at least a year and you knew shit about your husband's childhood, family, and the home where he grew up. I may not be married and never have been but I'm certain it's not normal for happily married couples who's been married for at least a year to know absolutely zilch about one another. Plus, how do you get married to Moxxie without ever wanting to learn more about him prior to the wedding? If your husband didn't want to talk about it, fine, but you're acting like this episode is the very first time this has ever even came up and it's like 'how did you never wonder about this before?' Even without that, it's still like, 'how did you never get curious about your husband during your marriage?' And to think, Millie had the damn nerve to say 'next time, just tell me your father is a psychopath'. Is it really that easy!?!? And was it really that hard for you to figure out!?
Moxxie was rather stupid, too. Yes, he shouldn't have to go through the forced marriage plan of Crimson's but I doubt it was all that smart for Moxxie to just go ahead and tell off his dad like no one was gonna do what Alessio did and tase him. Seriously, it looked like Moxxie thought he could just threaten his dad and call it a day. And earlier, even if he knew that his father's goons were watching him or were aware of his every move, Moxxie should have thought of some ways to deliver a damn message to somebody. Wasn't Moxxie supposed to trained in discrete mafia-stealth shit, especially since he was Crimson's only child and heir?
All of I.M.P. were morons for not murdering Crimson when they had the chance, since Crimson is a sociopathic control freak with a temper who would definitely think about getting revenge sometime in the future, as much as it takes forever for anything to return for an episode in Helluva Boss. It goes to Millie for the most part since she was right in front of Crimson but Blitzo should have done something, particularly when he was well enough to happily tell Crimson all about Chaz's scheme. And when he was being carried off, okay, he couldn't do anything at the time due to being tied up and gagged but maybe earlier when he was confronting his father. Because Moxxie should know what his father is capable of and is willing to do
Then Chaz. Oh, boy, Chaz. I liked him better than Blitzo but it probably goes to show that characters like Blitzo and Chaz are better stomached in small doses (which is probably the biggest reason I hate Blitzo. I'm stuck with him as the main fucking character!) Anyways, Chaz has a damn list as to why and how he's an idiot so let's get to listing
the fact he just told Crimson that he's rich, fully expected to be able to marry Moxxie and live happily ever after with him, and never even thought of an escape plan for the inevitable scenario of Crimson finding out the truth. Because yeah, even if Blitzo never spilled the beans about Chaz's plan, Crimson was fully expecting the cash to come in at some point. Crimson was going to demand it sooner or later so it was so damn stupid that Chaz never thought of anything on what to do about that problem
In fact, going off on that last thing, Chaz had a little list of his plan, and he legit had question marks on the second to last number, which goes to show how well thought out the plan was (At least Charlie made a full list with each step filled out, as nonsensical as it was) And Chaz's list was in his fucking car, with other pieces of evidence that he was flat broke. You seriously thought no one would think first to investigate your car?
Chaz never tried gunning it when Millie was massacring Crimson's gang and he even felt the need to protest when Millie was carrying Moxxie away. You seriously couldn't tell how fucking obvious it was you weren't going to win?
And while this is unrelated to his plan, there's the fact that Chaz very clearly thinks with his head down below than the head up top, as evidenced of him trying to have sex with everyone and anyone he could. Moxxie being up first, sure, I get that. Moxxie's the one Chaz is trying to marry. But then Chaz goes to fucking Millie, like she hasn't tried killing him before dinner and hasn't pointed a damn knife at him during dinner. Honestly, Chaz is only lucky that Blitzo was selfish enough to accept it upon hearing the right words
Now, as stated above, Chaz is an idiot. That much is obvious even in the single episode that he lasted. However, it felt like to me that Chaz is supposed to be an idiot so it doesn't feel all that surprising when he does stupid shit. But I think the one who's even stupider than Chaz is Crimson. While Chaz was the one who provided the plot on a silver platter, it was Crimson who ultimately decided to take it from said platter, which is how we even got the episode in the first place. (In-universe, I mean)
Crimson started off the whole damn plot because he never checked for himself if Chaz actually was rich. Crimson just took it at complete face value and spent his money to send a couple of his goons to pick up I.MP. via helicopter, still has a shit ton of goons outside of that, installed so many damn dildos in his fucking mansion and on the chairs for the outdoor wedding, and had a wedding helicopter or whatever set up. Crimson became even more broke than before - although he looked pretty damn well-off to me despite that - and it was all because he didn't do a single background check at any point of time. Fuck seriously, Blitzo found out in more or less twenty minutes so it should have been a cinch for Crimson to do with all his manpower and money. Really, the only worthwhile thing that came from it is my personal idea that Crimson was so pissed at himself for falling for the poorly thought-out con that came from a sheer idiot like Chaz; that got a chuckle out of me. But that worthwhile thing is a little thing so it didn't erase the fact that Crimson was a colossal idiot ensuring that this episode even happened
Oh, and let's not forget how Crimson just stood around at the altar and screamed at his goons to take care of Millie. At the end of the slaughter was one thing but that was only because most of his gang got fucking killed by then. What about before then? Crimson really couldn't have done something during that massacre? Isn't he supposed to be a mob boss? In fact, since the slaughter happened partially because he fucking invited as much of I.M.P. as he could, that means Crimson's scheme to lure them all in was stupid. Crimson could have just planned instead to kidnap Moxxie in a way that left no trace. It's not like Millie or Blitz would be smart enough to figure out a trail and the only reason they would be able to find Moxxie is if the people around them were idiots in just the right way
Wow, I really like the new GTA online mission where you have to capture someone named CHAZ that is a CHARISMATIC and SLICK guy who is BROKE, hunted down by LOAN SHARKS that are actually the MOB.
Maybe... It's just a coincidence?

OH CMON-
Also, I figured out why Andrealphus looks so disgusted. It's not hypocritical homophobia.

It's Chaz. Chaz is eyeing him up.
Honestly, I can't blame him. I'd be recoiling, too.
Thoughts on this official Helluva Boss Pride artwork?

Here are mine:
I love all the pan representation, but I'm kinda jealous of how many pan characters there are, too. I know I shouldn't be. Emotions are just funny like that sometimes, though.
My ace Octavia headcanon is now canon! ...At the cost of Mammon also being ace. He's fun to watch, don't get me wrong, but I mean... Mammon. -w-"
We've got some nice bi-ace solidarity with Loona and Octavia. That's always great. :)
The spade symbols on Mammon's robe and hat... Is it just for the aesthetic, or is he now our only confirmed aroace character across the Hellaverse? (I still staunchly believe that Alastor is aroace, but for some reason, the people at Spindlehorse refuse to say anything either confirming or denying it...)
Verosika's hairstyle is fun, especially with the heart-shaped curls at the ends.
It's nice that multiple trans characters (not just Sallie May) are included. I wonder if we'll ever get any nonbinary characters, though.
Chaz is definitely Chaz.
I say, I say, Wacky Wally Wackford is just the happiest demon in this picture!
It would be cool if at least one of the succubi/incubi had an orientation other than pansexual, but oh well.
More lesbians would be nice, too.
Pride Month may be coming to a close, but remember, July is Wrath Month. :p
saw this and had to share itβs too cute and canon for the characters credit goes to original creator of post
What if striker was ticklish? π

Chaz doesn't regret anything.
I promise I will answer all the questions you asked me, it took me longer than I thought with this comic... π
I was also distracted with a project that I'm very excited about, and yes, it's for us fans of these two, so stay tuned Straz fans π€β¨
πAnyway thanks for asking!π
