despite all the jokes about trisha paytas’ harrasment of gerard way, i feel as though nobody is discussing the issue of trisha purposely trying to infiltrate every aspect of lgbt spaces. mcr is known for representing a specific demographic of queer people that are fetishised extremely often, yet the band itself has always existed to provide a voice for the oppressed. trisha has attempted to become integrated into many other spaces that are notorious for their lgbt following (eg. theatre) just to excuse her blatant fetishisation of queer men, and while i don’t intend to act as a gatekeeper for theatre and alternative music, her intent in representing these communities was clearly not good, as demonstrated by her (honestly disgusting) sexualisation of these topics. in this essay i will-
