Autocorrect - Tumblr Posts
I've noticed that my phone autocorrects ! to ? "Me" becoming "Medic" was bad enough, but now I have to worry about punctuation too?

Screw being trilingual. My freaking keyboard is always set on Spanish and everytime I type 'The owl house' it gets changed to 'The owl Josué'
So I keep trying to type Krell in a message, and my autocorrect keeps changing it to krill(it also changes it to Kelly sometimes) and I find it very amusing.

I temporarily changed my phone’s language to Dutch yesterday, and now autocorrect is going haywire. Help.

Collecting my phone Ricardo's autocorrect crimes. it decided one day to become an absolute menace with autocorrect.
Some common things:
-some words, like "refuses," Ricardo insists must be capitalized no matter what. in the middle of a sentence? that guy Refuses to accept anything else.
-normal words like "on" and "in" get randomly autocorrected to each other
-normal words like "this" get corrected to less common words I have at most typed once like "thus" (or "my" to "Mt" that one happens so much)
-normal words get autocorrected to very unusual words I never type: "think" to "thunk" or "smell" to "snell"
-or even "late" to "lage" which I don't think is even a word...
you know you’re kinda out of the loop with tumblr culture when your autocorrect changes ‘aesthetic’ to 'asthenosphere’
autocorrect and the record
I read “Autocorrect” by Ellen Xu and listened to “The Record” by Boygenius, and I think that doing this it has uplifted both autocorrect and the record and made them better in my eyes. Both are about connections with others and wanting to be with them.
In Autocorrect, Ellen speaks about her relationship with her father. Their relationships began to strain from the stress of her father living in another country to work, all the way in China. She talks about how sad and angry she is from her father's choice, and how all the promises he made are now null and void. She says
“I just had my first driving lesson today and don’t you remember promising me years ago that you would be the one to teach me to drive”
This line hit me like a hurricane hits a straw house.
The first song on The Record “Without You Without Them” is about how the singer would not be the same person without their partner's parents but their grandparents.
“Thank your father before you
His mother before him
Who would I be without you, without them?”
This shows what to know about another person to not only know them but their history, they thank their partner's ancestors, saying they would not be the same person without them. Later in the song they speak about the want to be known and to know someone else
“Speak to me, speak to me, speak to me
Until your history's no mystery to me”
“I want you to hear my story and be a part of it”
Both speak of a want to understand the other to be close to them, the want to know them. With the record, it’s the want to be known and know, with Autocorrect it is the want to be with someone and share a history. Both of these texts have similar themes and that is why i think they bring out the best in each other, like players in a game of basketball when alone they can work but when together they will win.
