What I love about Kim Namjoon
Your question: Hey Smiles, what are you doing?
My answer: read this and then join me
His depth. When he’s looking into something, he dives in deep, until he can’t breath. He’ll come back up for air and dive again. He makes sure his thought process is so thorough and he can explain it well in his own words. He needs to make sure he gives enough for people to understand him, but it might backfire sometimes.
His artistic side. His poetic nature, his lyrical sense, his AMAZING skill in rapping, his sense of fashion (unusual but sure as hell unique). All of this is like his depth, he’s very thorough. He is a perfectionist that is different from Suga’s perfectionism. Suga’s perfectionism is to make sure that there’s no mistake in it’s delivery and getting the point across. Rap Monster’s perfectionism is to make sure there is no mistake in that he is sure it is how he believes it to be, there is no room for him to second-guess his own thoughts. (combine them two together and you have a dream team, oh wait, it’s real)
His humility. I won’t get into the controversies that surround his name, but all I know is that he always makes sure he’s open about it and addresses the issue. He’s far from perfect, and he gets it. He’s not pretending that everything is okay or that whatever he did was justified. He reflects, acknowledges his mistakes, and apologizes personally. All of this are the marks of a progressive man, that is admirable and respectable, don’t ever tell me otherwise.
His thoughtfulness. How about when Jungkook was sick and he worried about his emotional health and how he hopes Jungkook won’t feel too bad about not being here. Rap Monster has been there before and hopes the youngest doesn’t feel like that. How about when he was V’s secret friend in Dubai and he put meaning into what he chose, not just “Oh, he’ll like this”
His tough love. When Jimin lost his luggage in Bon Voyage, Rap Monster prepared the way and then set Jimin off to do things independently. If it were me, I would have fussed over Jimin like he was a child, but not Rap Monster. He recognizes that Jimin is an adult and he should learn to do these things by himself because it is a good skill to be independent when problem solving. Did you see the proud look on his face when Jimin came back successful?!
His leadership. Speaking of problem solving, as a leader, he has the responsibility of problem solving for his teammates. It’s not simply because he has the IQ of 148 or that he can speak English fluently. He feels the weight of responsibility, he’s willing to carry it, and he’s doing a diligent job. Everyone in Bangtan recognizes that only Rap Monster can pull off the job of a leader, he’s so respected by that alone, and he has even more qualities that needs to be respected.
The little things: clumsyjoon (it’s actually kind of adorable), he’s SHY (omg, outspoken badass rapper who’s very open about his thoughts is SHY!!!!???), his height, so proportionate, his appreciation for nature, his freestyle rap in Norway when he needed to go back for his backpack (omg, i do not want to explain the depth of how much of a turn on that was), sexy brain man, never forgets int’l army, smooth ass pickup lines, English and all other languages

Rap Monster has been there before (this is about another Namjoon incident, after Jungkook was sick[beginning of the year(?]]) and hopes the youngest doesn’t feel like that. His leadership. Speaking of problem solving, as a leader, he has the responsibility of problem solving for his teammates. It’s not simply because he has the IQ of 148 (Top 1.3% in SK) or that he can speak English fluently. He feels the weight of responsibility, he’s willing to carry it, and he’s doing a diligent job. Everyone in Bangtan recognizes that only Rap Monster can pull off the job of a leader, he’s so respected by that alone (Scroll down to the ask about the most manly man in Bangtan), and he has even more qualities that needs to be respected.

RMusic# is such a cool thing for a popular artist to do. I have a sense of closeness with him when he does that
Whenever he talks, he sounds like he’s rapping. It’s such instinct in him. Not to mention his voice is sexy as hell to begin with
R-A-P-F-L-O-W
He gets to show his forehead at almost every comeback lately and that makes me happy
Cannot respect any leader more for he who can take up the role of being the face of a group. Controversies, other countries, different languages. It takes strength.
Okay, let me add on to that last point, because it was a really last minute point.
There are parts to why his leadership is so commendable, that I talk about it twice. And I’ll probably never stop... The first time was about his skill set. But this time I wanna talk about his mindset. First appreciation post talked about his humility. But to bring it in, not only as a characteristic of his entire person, he also brings it into his leadership.
As a leader, he puts himself in a humbling, serving position for the rest of the members. His point is to make them shine. His point is to make them grow. It’s never been about him. It’s always about Bangtan. It’s always been about his members. That is how you get your team to go to war with/for you. It’s a teamwork to put others before you so they do so likewise. No one is gonna stick their neck out for someone who’s not gonna do the same, someone who’s not worth it. But he is. He so is.
