Buck used to love rainy days. Especially as a child. He would play outside in the rain. Run around and feel free. His parents never told him to come home. Sometimes Maddie would come play with him under the rain. They would sing and dance and enjoy being young.

But as time passed and Buck grew, he started to like the rainy days less and less. Buck's life was tied to the rain and the water.

Last night, Buck and Tommy proposed. Last night, Buck and Tommy started a new chapter of their life. Last night, Buck knew that he was enough. Last night, Buck knew that with Tommy by his side, everything was possible. But today, Buck woke up alone.

Buck’s hand glided on his naked chest, no weight was present. He tapped the mattress thinking that Tommy could have rolled around like he sometimes does, but only softness let his touch. Buck finally opened his eyes. Alone. No one was there in the room. Was yesterday a dream? Did he fall asleep in the car and dreamt the rest of the night? Did Tommy leave in the night? Did Tommy really propose? Buck looked at his left hand. Nothing. No ring.
