soft eyes trailed him too and fro as he dashed across the court, strong legs tensed as he prepared himself for flight. the hairs on your arms stood on end as you could practically feel the air vibrating from the intense energy he exuded.

pink lips pulled into an excited grin as he launched from the ground, hand throbbing as he slammed the ball down onto the opposite side of the court, you couldn’t help but match his giddy smile when he turned to look at you, lips never moving but his eyes screaming “i just did that, you proud of me?!”

it wasn’t hard for you to match goshiki’s energy; the fire and excitement that blazed in his eyes seemed to always be alight, burning like a never ending flame. his child-like exuberance made you feel airy and free whenever you were around him. his smile felt like sitting by the fireplace on a frigid winter’s night.

but his strength was also his downfall - much like a roaring fire, drawing too close to indulge in it will cause you to burn. his excitement was endearing, a welcome change of pace from his elder’s serious faces and attitudes, but not everyone can withstand the heat from the sun all the time.

when he’s at his highest peak, heart pounding in his chest and his words flying past at a million miles an hour, even he can get swept away in this adrenaline induced high. it feels like he’s soaring through the skies; everything is bright and wonderful and exciting-

then suddenly, the clouds roll in.

someone snaps at him, telling him to relax. a firm hand is placed on his shoulder and squeezes just a bit too tightly, and all of a sudden it’s like someone doused his fire in ice water.

there’s nothing wrong being excited. there’s nothing wrong in finding a giddy joyfullness in indulging in what you love. but there are lines to be made; there are limits you must yield to.

and while he may not understand it, that’s why he has you. whenever his sunlight is dimmed by the clouds, whenever his fire is threatened to be extinguished, you pick him back up on his feet, dusting off his dirtied knees with a subtle smile on your face.

you are the wind that blows away his clouds, a gentle breeze that sparks life into his flames. his excitement brings you excitement. without that, life wouldn’t be the same.
