Waterfall
Came across a picture of a waterfall which was probably done in low light. I thought it looked cool and I tried using it as inspiration for a quick pastel sketch.

Red Poppies
Since I was getting more comfortable with following YouTube tutorials I thought I’d give some different ones a try. This is a watercolour tutorial I found from Tatyworks.
I used her tutorial watercolour brushes and the flower sketch provided.

Ferry Doodles - Trees
Passing some time on the ferry by trying to remember and practice some techniques used during the various Julier tutorials. In particular, the select, copy and flipping functions with the trees 😊 Used the default brushes.


La Boheme 🎶
Supporting the arts in all their varied forms.
The other month we spent a rainy afternoon enjoying the local lyric society’s presentation of La Boheme. They only had a piano as accompaniment, but Puccini’s music is great even without a full orchestra. The audience member beside me was moved to tears.
I look forward to finding more of these smaller theatre companies to enjoy and support.

Watercolour Tutorial - Orange 🍊
One of the things I like about the Julier tutorials is that he uses the default brushes, no need to think too much, you can just follow along. With other tutorials it seems they are geared towards their own brushes, fair enough, but I’m still too new to digital art to be able to “transfer” the techniques “between brands” so to speak. Thus I went back to the source of my current watercolour brushes for a quick refresher.
A short Bardot tutorial on how to use her brushes, will probably have to repeat it before it fully sticks 😊. She did have an orange sketch, but I missed it and ended up just drawing along freehand. Behold an 🍊
